Great video. Thorough and extremely informative!
Just doing my best to keep you guys informed and entertained, glad it's working!
If it was just the clutch that rotted, it was one bolt and $75. Just did this on my 2010. No need to swap in a new compressor.
Best informative video and straight forward, great job👍
Thanks for watching! Don't forget to subscribe!
Would you by chance know how to jumpstart the clutch on these?
I am not sure.
just wondering and im guessing so but would the steps here be the same for a 2003 Expedition with the 5.4?
It might be a similar process.
Any luck with yours? I've been debating on doing it myself on my 2003 expedition
Hey guys this is great. About to do same on my 07 Expedition (compressor seized). Wondering if you all just took an 'executive decision' to not flush / replace condenser due to belief that debris wasn't too bad a risk based on the manner of failure? I see that the desiccant cartridge came with the kit you bought, did you guys just opt to not do that stuff and just throw the compressor on. (I've done same at times and yes it's a risk but so far never had issue). Just curious the reasoning for not doing condenser / flushing given it was a compressor failure. Thanks for the great video!
I have 203,000 miles on this truck. The condenser is fine, we didn't really want to disturb anything else. Hope the video helps you out.
need help with 2003 expedition belt size to bypass a/c compressor ,compressor seized up
@HomeOwnerRepair Is there a reason why you replaced all the O rings? Was it just to be safe? I didn't hear any mention of them leaking.
They were not leaking, but the truck has 203,000 miles on it so we figured we would replace them. It wasn't that hard to do.
Why didn't y'all flush anything or change the desiccant bag in condenser or change the rear expansion valve?
The kit only came with one expansion valve so we just replaced the front.
If all i have is a compressor out of a junked truck is there anything else I have to have in order to swap it out with the seized one? Not very much mechanical experience but very mechanically inclined
@pauljohnson3668 what model? You need to change your desiccant bag and expansion valves. If it is a older expedition you need to change your drier/accumulator and orifice tubes. If your compressor locked up flip it upside down and shake it. See if any oil or metal shavings come out. If shavings come out you need to flush all the lines and condenser. They recommend changing the condenser most times anyway.
Come on. Do it right
Theres no videos for a 2019 xlt
I will keep this in mind in the event that we need to replace the AC on a later model Ford Expedition.
