This podcast has changed my life. I listened to it three times before pursuing HRT. 3 days into my new regimen and what a game changer! Thank you ladies! ❤
Seeing two of “Houston’s” powerhouse women together…no words! I’ve just started listening to hour after hour of Dr. Mary Claire Haver interviews trying to soak it all up - but this one hit differently. Felt like two friends having a conversation and educating the masses while doing it. So awesome that we are finally starting to talk about this and stop the suffering!!
I wish if there would be more doctors like her💕 I haven’t been able to find help since I had complete hysterectomy in 2019. There are only few days in months when I feel ok. Terrible sleep, anxiety, don’t have any desire to do anything. Getting through with the help of red wine. Didn’t think that it can be that bad. Have always been happy person. Thank you for this inspiring video.
I thought the entire episode was a fantastic update. TG my doctors prescribed HRT for me 14 years ago in my early menopause. It came with lots of warnings but just like Dr. Haver said, I was one of those insistent women who was willing to trade quality of life for the threat of risk! Now I know that I made the right choice as it has protected me rather than threatened me. You can see how findings evolve as we know more~ I knew that if my hot flashes and insomnia were severe, there was no immediate life. I just started testosterone cream too and look forward to the benefits! More episodes on menopause are most welcome. Thank you, Dominique!
Just curious, did you have blood tests for hormone levels or saliva testing or urine testing? I did the blood testing a few years ago, but found that saliva testing or urine testing is more accurate. 🌞
What a great video. Sometimes, I look at myself in the mirror and think what in the world has happened to me? I'm 53 and trying to regain my health, vigor, and looks. This was a very informative video. I'm trying to make changes.
I’m 64 and I have been on BHRT for 9 years. Changed the quality of my life in so many ways. I go to a doctor who also quit her OB/GYN practice to focus solely on hormone issues and menopausal health. I have had a couple of GP doctors who scoffed at my use of hormones and told me to just take antidepressants. I promptly left and found someone more supportive. It makes me sad to know how many women were negatively impacted by that faulty WHO study .
I live in Scotland and I am a big fan of Dr Mary Clare, I watch her on You Tube and have just bought her excellent book. I’m 54 years old and have found it to be so helpful at this point in my life. It’s so great to see you two together as I have been following you Dominique since the Covid lock down. I think that you are both amazing women really making a difference in the world. Go girls!!! ❤❤❤
Topic, tone, line of questioning, facts, figures, percentages, recommendations and scientifically researched findings...... this is the kind of D interview I tune in to see!!! Hair, makeup, fashion and facts. Call it "Females Factually Flourishing"! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oh Dominique, you are changing the quality of our lives. God bless you everyday! You are an inspiration in too many ways to mention. Another great guest.
I literally cried watching parts of this podcast...especially at the end. Dr. Haver has helped me SO much throughout my perimenopausal/menopausal journey. I loved seeing the two of you join in on this POWERFUL, much-needed discussion. We will get there...one intelligent conversation at a time. 🌺
This doctor was great. She was giving straight medical information unlike the others you had on who only seemed to be advertising their practice and pushing their agenda.
At 58 and a half and 1 and a half years post menopausal. I could not lose weight with my usual routine of working out regularly. Not an ounce. Sleep was horrible and hot flashes were super annoying. I quit drinking alcohol 8 months ago, and all refined sugar, dairy and flour (especially wheat) and coffee 6 weeks ago. I also started following the bean protocol (Karen Hurd, Unique Hammond). and have added working out with a rebounder daily for the last 2 weeks, using a strength routine with it 3 times/week that I created. I am amazed. By quitting the sugar, flour and processed junk foods (chips, crackers, etc) and eating mostly beans, animal protein, nuts, seeds and veg with some fresh fruits, and occasional gluten free oats, I am dropping weight for the first time in at least 8 years, my blood sugar is so stable, I have zero cravings at all for sugar or flour, like at all, I'm sleeping better, hot flashes are gone. My appetite is so chill, I only want breakfast and dinner, so I naturally skip lunch. I've been a sugar addict my whole life since childhood. This is truly a miracle. If I could pick just one thing that made the biggest difference, it's quitting the sugar, flour and processed snack foods. And alcohol. I know 100% the secret to stay youthful, fit and slim in menopause. It's about controlling blood sugar and excess hormones (bean protocol). No question about it. A miracle.
I know this all too well. Thanks for the reminder. I have these 'slips' where I eat carbs for a few days and it's no wonder I feel like crud. Irritable bloated, lazy, etc.
I have never considered HRT, but after listening to you with Dr. Haver, I have changed my mind. At 66 yrs. old, I feel great, but honestly, I think I can even feel better! It makes so much sense! Thank You, Dominique, for all of your informative podcasts. I love sharing them with older friends, younger friends, and daughters-in-law... Lucky them to hit this info. at a young age.
I turned 50 this year and have had some much trouble with brain fog, some depression and a whole lot of anxiety. My md put me on Antidepressants and recommended that I see a therapist. Then I have my mom say well depression runs in our family. You don’t turn 50 and suddenly just have depression and anxiety. My Dr is on the younger said and obviously is not listening to me. I’ve told her that it’s menopause. I then went to my obgyn and asked her what I could do for menopause, and she told me.. all women go through it. 😮 That’s it! I’ve worked in healthcare for 24 yrs “non clinical” and am disgusted on how I’ve been dismissed. I don’t think the antidepressants are right for me, but don’t want to cold Turkey stop taking them. I’ve also gained 30 lbs in 1 year w/ no diet changed.
I just want to thank you Dominique for all your menopause related content. I'm 36 and have been terrified of menopause my whole life, because my mother's started at 40 (when I was 3) and it gave her extreme anxiety and depression (like _extreme_ - we didn't leave the house when I was little). That, plus as a woman who is not and will not be raising a family, I don't want to lose my "youth" (which is a VERY flexible term) yet at 40 - I still want to go on adventures and dates even when menopause hits. And you arming me with knowledge has really soothed my anxiety around the topic. Thank you.
I had a few hot flashes that werent too bothersome, but really bad anxiety that was the worse part.. I had a few periods in 2023, but nothing in several months so my Dr. ran blood tests and confirmed post menopausal and prescribed me combipatch. I felt nauseaus and bloated for two days, but after that, no issues. I feel pretty good now. Its been a couple of weeks. He also prescribe entrace cream.
Thank you so much for putting a spotlight on menopause. Women are so underserved in this phase of life by the healthcare system. So much needless suffering. Its taken me over 2 years to find a doctor to take me seriously and put me on HRT.
After the last episode I was excited and went to my obgyn and asked about HRT. His reply: ‘nothing you can do. Its gone’ I was shocked. He had zero desire to even discuss it. I couldn’t wait to leave bc I was near tears. Thank god for these podcasts that get the word out to not give up!
Mine said the same thing , I went to another dr and she understood me and prescribed HRT. After 2 weeks , I am feeling like my normal self . Please keep going to dr and you will find someone .
My story is so similar. Visceral fat journey, menopause, sleep...all of this! I could go on and on 😅. Thank you for getting this out there loud and clear. FOOD IS MEDICINE!!
I appreciate this so much! I'm 49 and recently saw my doctor for my annual physical and was giving him almost the entire list of "symptoms" to which you were speaking. I told him I understand I am nowhere near being overweight, but the 10 pounds I gained and have not been able to lose was frustrating and I just didn't feel good; as in I know at what general weight at which I feel healthy and good and while 10 pounds might not be much to most people, it has made an incredible impact on me. And nothing has changed in my daily routine. He ordered so many labs and when they all came back normal, he told me he would submit a referral to see a therapist. 😒I was so upset that was his response; like I was being so "silly and trivial" about what I have been experiencing. Just a side note, this is the first time in all the years I have had him as my PCM that I felt dismissed; I really do love him as my doctor! Thank you so much for this! ❤
Typical male Dr. When it comes to women’s issues, it seems when you are A child bearing age, they have more of an interest in your well being, but the minute You go through menopause, it’s a different story, I sometimes wonder if it’s because The money isn’t there. 😂😂
It’s an utter disgrace that drs treat women so dismissively. I guarantee if it were a man dealing with all these symptoms, he would be taken seriously! How did we as women get here??? 🤔
I just stopped my menses at age 50 no hot flashes nothing 🤷🏻♀️now I’m 61 and never had any menopause symptoms. It’s so weird. My doctor told me I’m so lucky.
Dr Haver has said that's great - but there are hidden effects of estrogen such as its effect on heart health (AHA put out an important paper this year), brain health, and bone health. So, HRT may still be a good idea for a long and healthy life.
Yes, you are lucky and sincerely i offer congratulations. However, there are symptoms of menopause that may surprise you or can develope silently. One silent problem is osteoporosis and i suggest getting a baseline dexa scan. Also be aware that heart disease can develope silently. Joint and muscle pain can be caused by lack of estrogen and so can insomnia . Alot of women dont realize that you nsomnia and joint/ muscle pain can be caused by menopause. Good luck
This information is so important !!! I have been chasing answers for unexplained major weight gain and feeling lousy and crazy for over 3 years. My dr gave me diet pills, but they didn't work and I kept insisting something else was wrong. I was told the pills take longer because I was already a healthy eater and I should just move my body more. Long short. I had my own blood work done and discovered too little Thyroid, too much Testosterone, and Menopause, now all of a sudden I'm not so crazy !!! I was so frustrated not being heard and honestly thought I was crazy. In the meantime, I purchased the Galveston Diet and things are starting to come together, slower than I'd like but at least the scale is moving. We need more people like you Dominique and Dr Harver to bring menopause and over 50 women's health issues to the forefront. Thank you for addressing this !!
Luv you ladies ❤I am so Thankful for you Dr Mary Claire ,all my symptoms of post menopause I am 63 and I have a lot of heart issues in my family but I have been on hrt since I was 50 I could not stand my set let alone anyone else even my dearest luvved ones..my cholesterol has been over the 200s for years and I was worried about it I was on meds for it and my pc and I talked about it and he said let’s try getting off of it I really don’t think you need it well it was at 228 then I had my yearly physical in November of 23 and he said I know you say you want to get off the estradiol patch and he said it could also be keeping you cholesterol elevated so I said let me try getting off of it so I did for 6 months and i feel as though I’m back to 50 years old again 🥵😒broken sleep, hot flashes, irritated, belly fat.. so I had my blood drawn again my cholesterol is 245 up 19 points. Both my parents and 5 out of 7 children have high cholesterol I have to say I pretty much watch my diet, yes I drink alcohol but I don’t just sit I walk and I’m very active throughout my day, So’ I’m wanting to go back on my estradiol patch ( I’m on the lowest dose) I think I need a higher dose so I’m making an appointment to see my pc again to go back on the patch.I am so thankful for you and all your knowledge, I purchased your Galveston Diet book so I’m trying that approach next.I don’t know if it’s normal for 63 years old to still have so many symptoms but I’m at my wits end with the anxiety I have but I refuse to go on meds for the hot/anxiety issues..Thx for listening 😊
Wonderful video! We women have to support one another and regain our mental, emotional and physical strength back! Thank you so much for asking all the great questions. Loved the magnesium segment and then HRT. Saw female MD in my late 40s ( 2017) for peri menopause symptoms. She wanted to put me on anti depressants. I was so disappointed and discouraged by her. Now 53 and have done my research ( Dr Barbie Taylor, Dr. Mindy Pelz, Dr. Cabecca, Dr. Hirsch, etc. ) I still have a period once every 6 months and finally got on compounded pill form, low dose estrogen/progesterone and testosterone cream. ( Maternal GM had breast Cancer). What a difference!! No more migraines, hot flashes, irritability, cholesterol went down 100 points! Still working on inflammation ;Joint pain when I wake up. Always exercised and fit, but it’s what I put in my mouth. 😆Will switch to estrogen patch within the next 3 month because want to lessen risk for clots. ❤️
I would love to see a video at a gym. Showing all the different ways to get started, what machines works on what part of body. How you can incorporate exercise at home as well with no machines……
Absolutely wonderful podcast and such an incredibly authentic, candid, and intelligent guest ! Dr Haver has put everything in perspective. I was in tears when she said that the loss of her brother and the rapid and extreme menopausal onslaught occurred simultaneously as the same thing happened this past year with me when my mother passed. Grief does so much mentally and physiologically to the body. I believe it was a catalyst for extreme perimenopausal symptoms/ menopausal onset. My weight went up, belly fat emerged, acne, poor sleep, etc came on with ferocity. I look forward to purchasing Dr Haver’s book for her guidance in navigating my health and allowing me the ability to advocate with my practitioners for my optimal health. Please bring Dr Haver back again, Dominique🌹
This subject is eye opening as a 61 year old that was classed as WW wingy woman at my drs i now know my symptoms were and still are menopause, i can remember begging my Dr to send to a mental hospital for help because he kept saying my symptoms were depression, im now told im to old for hormone treatment so the sleepless night's hot flahes anxiety weight gain ect ect has obviously got to continue until i die!! How sad and unfair is that for us women in our 60s. I wish you could get a guest that could advise woman over 60 what they can do to help them through this terrible time. Im in the uk and all the advise i see like your podcast seams to be in from the states. Thank you for giving us this information x
Loved this podcast. Please have Mary back to talk about hormones with migraine, dosage etc. Im going to buy her book, i didnt know about how important it is to eat extra protein just to maintain.
Would have liked her to elaborate better on what sources of proteins she “recommends”. And a bit more on the daily diet in general. Thanks for the information
I am 62 years old, got menopause at 48, didn't know anything about hormone therapy. Is it too late to do this treatment? My hair is getting thinner, and on the border for bone density. Have been under healthy diet and excercised regularly for the past 20 years or so. Thank you so much to both of you.
While your posts are always good, this one is THE BEST! Thank you, Dominique and Dr. Mary Claire, for communicating this important and relevant information which is so difficult to find. Your video is like finding a rare gem! I’d love to see her interviewed again, as you say there is so much more to discuss. I’d also love to see more videos specifically regarding the POST-menopause stage. I’m 63 and plan to be in this for the long game! Thank you so much, Dominique, for who you are and what you do.
It all depends on the person. I'm 56, 140 pounds, and wear size 2 or 25 pant, work out 5 days a week, eat a high carb diet of lots of fruits and greens Not a animal eater!. I cheat on chocolate.! No hormonal issues! Fasting 16/8 daily. Married 30+ years.. This works for me.
Sometimes I wonder how much ancestry has to do with our protein needs. I eat some plant proteins but if I go too long without animal protein (usually fish or turkey) I feel weak.
This is such an important discussion for and about women. Thank you, Dr. Mary Claire and Dominique for bringing this forward. Wonderful women of substance!💕💕💕
Dominique please do a video with other women & yourself sharing their experience with Menopausal insomnia, anxiety, weight gain & how they've 'overcome ' their symptoms. Especially, for those who choose to do it with natural options or tried 'everything ' + what has worked . TIA😊
As always this was incredibly helpful, informative and could be life changing for a lot of women. Having lived in Galveston for 10 years and know a lot of people that know Mary Claire and rave about her as a person and doctor. I follow her on all socials and tell my friends to follow her. These conversations are so important and hopefully will change the life of someone that is listening that needs/wants help through peri-menopause, menopause & post menopause. I'm almost 63 and haven't been on HRT for probably 8-10 years and that is going to change - it is time for me to talk to my OB/GYN and get back on the patch. Thank you once again.....excellent podcast!
Amazing video. One thing that I've learned and I'm not quite sure if this is true but when I tore the Traverse City State Hospital in Michigan our tour guide told us that women were put into an insane asylums because they did not know what was happening to them. They thought that they were crazy. Later they realized that they were going through menopause. I cannot even imagine how scary that must have been for these women.
I wish I could give this video 1,000 thumbs up!! I'm 49 and have been post-menopause for about 2 years, I'm on HRT (it was a must for multiple reasons) and the 5 years prior to me being considered "post-meno" were BRUTAL. I still have some issues with brain fog insecurities, and weight gain (40+ lbs), and I still have hot flashes (not as severe nor as often but I still have them 3-4 times a day). I know I need to make nutritional changes, I'm working on creating better movement habits and it is still an ongoing battle of my mind vs my body. I realized recently some of my unhealthy habits were created because I was trying to deal with the sadness I've felt from my body "turning against me" and not being able to control what was happening. Panic attacks, anxiety, sleepless nights, sweating some nights for over an hour from a hot flash ....I've had it all. I hope to get Dr. Mary's book and see what fits for me and what can I tweak to help move me forward to a healthy post-meno lifestyle. Thank you for all that you share, create, etc. ❤
This was a wonderful informative video. I have been on HRT for awhile now. It amazes me how many doctors are against it . Find a doctor who is open to listening to your concerns and is willing to treat you and your symptoms.
Wonderful podcast! 😊Question for Dr. Haver: Back in 2005 my mother started going through menopause at age 55 and she was put on HRT.(I don’t know the name of it, I wished I had asked her 😢) and six months later was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and died in 2010. Now, I’m age 50 and in menopause since age 47 and I’m scared to death to go on any type of hormone therapy. I hear about breast cancer but not so much about ovarian cancer with HRT. Can you please enlighten me about ovarian cancer and HRT therapy? Thanks so much for all that you do! 😊
Thanks so much for such an informative pod cast. Yes, definitely needed to get the facts out there for woman suffering with Menopause. Domingue you are doing a wonderful job.
Loved this video. Great information. Please do a podcast on skin tightening procedures for face. Please also guide us how to get rid of double chin did to menopause.
I was going through menopause however, I have been feeling a whole lot better, thank you Jesus 😊 🙏🏻 I changed my eating habits to fruits and veggies 🙌🏻 makes a big difference.
Changing my diet to carnivore helped with ALL of these complaints. And IF as well. Inflammation gone, skin not so dry, intestinal issues gone. Weight-loss is the cherry on top! Great guest today! Dr. Ken Berry and Dyann Parham were very helpful on youtube.😊
Omg- game changer! So much valuable information. Thank you Dominique for shining a spotlight on menopause and peri-menopause. What a great and knowledgeable speaker. I’m only halfway though the video and have taken away so much. Thank you! ❤
By far one of the bests podcast I have watched so far. Extremely informative… I’m 48 and have all this symptoms, discomfort’s, aches and my OB/Gyn - PCP it’s normal you’re getting old. 😢
I didn’t fancy the symptoms of menopause nor the serious health risks of hrt and so I used meditation successfully to overcome this period. No symptoms at all. We are conditioned for years to believe menopause is something terrible… so it is!
Awesome podcast. On a funny note. I had no idea about my ovaries shrinking until I went for my last physical and the doctor checked and I asked if they were OK ..... she said, I could barely feel them. I was like one of those dogs with their head tilted to the right ( say what doc) where did they go? She said exactly this...makes sense. I was on HRT during late peri-menopause and early post menopause. It was very beneficial for me. I am off now. My doc did not want to leave me on it for too long. I hit menopause at 45 and now 55. I have some symptoms but have figured how to navigate sans HRT. I believe food is medicine and movement is necessary.
Wonderful podcast Dominique. Mary Claire seems like a wealth of information for women. I would be interested in your interviewing someone on the topic of pelvic organ prolapse. Many women (both young and old) struggle with this, and it is rarely discussed. Thank you for what you do to bring topics of great interest to your viewers.❤
Hi Brenda - you're exactly right! Pelvic floor issues aren't talked about nearly enough. I'm a nurse navigator for pelvic floor at a Houston-area hospital. Pelvic Floor physical therapy is an option, and of course, the surgical route depending on the intensity of the prolapse. Please talk to your health care provider if you suspect you're having issues - it's not normal to walk around with prolapsed organs, and there is help out there!
@@annkingrey2205 Thank you for being in your profession and helping women with this issue. I have benefited from pelvic floor PT and seeing a urogynecologist and his NP. You are right - there is help. I think it would be a great topic for Dominique’s podcast.
Hi Dominique, Thank you for bring us help and information to us that have so many questions about Menopause .Also thank you so much to Dr Mary Clair to give us some guidance in what we go through . I will like to know for those like me I,m 56 years old, I have a sister that had breast cancer and I have fibrocystic breast , I do not take hormones because that and sometimes I have a hard time with some things, it is something that I can do? Thanks
My experience with a glass of wine and sleeping issues is not necessarily the same. I can have a 5-6 oz glass of wine each evening at dinner and can sleep fine. I also take DHEA because my cortisol levels were out of balance. (functional medicine doctor helped with getting me on track). I have been doing intermittent fasting in menopause and use an early window ending at 4:30- 5 PM (I get up really early) so maybe that has something to do with it too. I have to say intermittent fasting has kept my weight down considerably. I'm only 10 pounds more than my pre menopausal weight. More exercise would help and I am in the process of being better at it. Enjoying life is important so moderation is key. I liked what this doc said. Thank you for this.
Love this video, thank you. I am 52, I have been on a whole plant based diet for 5 months now I thought I ate healthy before but plant based means no calorie counting, full of nutrient dense foods I strongly agree food is medicine and fasting. Just wished people didn’t think I was some alien for doing it. Love all your content Dominique. Xx
Love when intelligent women are talking 💓 my favorite podcast so far, practical, clear information. I'm 51 and so far my coping mechanism with menopause are birth control pills (can be prescribed in Canada till age 55) and for weight loss the the only diet that is working for me the last few years is Bernstein diet for a month or two per year. Feeling great and keeping pounds off so far with this set up. Now I'm intrigued and will try the Galveston diet. And thanks to you and Dr. Haver I'm now armed with knowledge what type of HRT to ask for, when the time comes to switch from birth control to HRT. Dominique, you are such a pro-life motivator and I'm eternally grateful to you for that.
The Galveston diet is ultimately a high fat, low carb diet. It resembles the standard keto diet in its macronutrient distribution, as most daily calories come from fat. An average American diet comprises about 35% calories from fat, 16% from protein, and 47% calories from carbs In comparison, the Galveston diet advocates getting about 70% of your daily calories from fats, 20% from protein, and 10% from carbs. The idea behind this shift is to get most of your calories from fat instead of carbs, or what the diet refers to as “Fuel Refocus.” In general, carbs are your body’s preferred energy source. Yet, under low carb conditions like fasting or low carb diets, your body breaks down fat for energy. Evidence suggests high fat keto diets are more effective for weight loss than low fat diets among some people However, the Galveston diet differs from the traditional keto diet because it incorporates several other components. The result is a very low carb diet consumed within an 8-hour eating window that includes significant amounts of anti-inflammatory foods.
I wish I could have heard all of this 10 years ago! Struggled through perimenopause without any therapy due to being a triple negative breast cancer survivor. Could not get anyone to listen to me. Probably labeled the winy women 😢
Best guest ever!! I'm going to watch it again, so much great information! I consider myself educated on good foods and bioidentical HRT, and wow, did I learn a lot! Rolling out pita bread right now so I may jump back on later this evening with a few questions. Your guest is like you, Dominique...beautiful and smart ❤️ oh and I wanted to tell her thank you for coming clean with us about WW. That is so disturbing 😔
This is so fantastic Dominique!! Thank you for this eye opening and educational video with Dr. Haver, she’s truly awesome!! Would love to live in Houston and be under her care 😭 Can’t wait to get her noon! So many topics hit home with me as a 58 yr old recently post menopausal woman. Thank you!!🙏🏻🙏🏻
I saw someone comment below about addressing pelvic floor issues - I would love for you to have a pelvic floor physical therapist, and a Uro-gynecologist who can help women with prolapses! There's help out there - it's not normal to urinate on yourself and just resort to wearing pads!
It makes me so upset to think of the years i lost health wise, because I haven't taken HRT. It's been a "man's world" almost a conspiracy against women. I am so grateful the subject of menopause is coming out of the closet. It's about damn time!
Could you please tell me why menopause services aren’t covered by insurance? Even Dr. Haver doesn’t accept health insurance or FSA or HSA spending account.
My q's for Dr Haver. How do I determine besides having labs done if I have an IUD/Mirena if i'm menopausal. I went to my gyn but my hormone levels are not in the menopausal phase. I am 53 yrs old. Wow I feel like I need to schedule a consult with Dr. Thank you for all the info and so helpful and eye openers too.
Dominique thank you so much for discussing these topics that no one seems to what to speak about. I can relate to a lot of what was covered in this video. I always wonder why God made women go through all we go through from puberty thru menopause and then I remember because men wouldn't be able to handle it. Keep those awesome videos coming
Thanks so much for providing education on this topic. I'm post menopausal and feel I have so much to learn about how to live the next 30 years in a healthy way. I'd love to see you interview Dr. Christiane Northrup, a pioneer in this field. P.S. I love the curly hair!
53 yr old here too, I'm with ya girl!❤
❤😊
I’m 64 and I have been on BHRT for 9 years. Changed the quality of my life in so many ways. I go to a doctor who also quit her OB/GYN practice to focus solely on hormone issues and menopausal health.
I love everything Dr. Haver produces. The Galveston Diet has changed my life!
A miracle.
Loved reading about your experience. Congratulations on your great results!! Thank you for sharing. 🌸
Awesome advice! I will cut out sugar and processed snacks which are my downfall!
I love my rebounder too - it truly is a game changer.
This worked for me too but you cannot stray from this or you will gain it back.
@@sheliapower4566 It's true! Not even a little, I'm finding. But it's ok. It's just the way it is I guess.
Did you get any hormones?
Thank you.
I just want you to know that you are not alone. I'm 37 and going through the same thoughts. Sending you big hugs ❤❤
I am 42 and going through it.
Maybe time to find a different provider...
@@annkingrey2205 yup I’m never going back to him
Mine said the same thing , I went to another dr and she understood me and prescribed HRT. After 2 weeks , I am feeling like my normal self . Please keep going to dr and you will find someone .
@@stephaniesheppard4139 thank you! I am not giving up 😊
My story is so similar.
When it comes to women’s issues, it seems when you are
A child bearing age, they have more of an interest in your well being, but the minute
You go through menopause, it’s a different story, I sometimes wonder if it’s because
The money isn’t there. 😂😂
It’s an utter disgrace that drs treat women so dismissively. I guarantee if it were a man dealing with all these symptoms, he would be taken seriously! How did we as women get here??? 🤔
Dr. Haver, thank you soooo much for your efforts educating women and also other medical persons as to the importance of hormone replacement. ❤
I just stopped my menses at age 50 no hot flashes nothing 🤷🏻♀️now I’m 61 and never had any menopause symptoms. It’s so weird. My doctor told me I’m so lucky.
Same ! I kept waiting for bad symptoms but thankfully none!!
You probably have a good endogenous dhea supply and can convert at the tissue level. About 25% of women can do this. You are lucky.
My mom was the same and at 52 had her 6th baby 😂
Hi Dominique, this podcast was wonderful! thank you so much for this much needed content! You are an inspiration. 💓
During peri when I couldn’t sleep, two different docs wanted to put me on antidepressants! It was so frustrating. 😣
I would love to see a video at a gym. Showing all the different ways to get started, what machines works on what part of body. How you can incorporate exercise at home as well with no machines……
Love you had Mary Claire Haver on. I have followed her for years. She’s wonderful!
These topics on your podcast are life changing and life saving! Thank you for all you do!❤
Great podcast, I'm 66 and past menopause. I learned so much! Thank you. Better late then never. I'll move forward being educated. ❤
@liana2136 thank you
Black cohosh herb, supplements help!
Praying for you and your mother Dominique. ❤
This was beyond amazing! Thank you Dominique, thank you Dr. Haver!
Thank you so much for making this wonderful, free content.🙂🙏
I am 62 years old, got menopause at 48, didn't know anything about hormone therapy. Is it too late to do this treatment? My hair is getting thinner, and on the border for bone density. Have been under healthy diet and excercised regularly for the past 20 years or so. Thank you so much to both of you.
I follow you both and clicked so fast when I saw this!! Thank you both for everything you do for us over 50 woman! ❤❤
Stress may also be part of the cause of hormonal issues added with menopause!
Congratulations 🎉 do you have hrt
Congratulations 🎉 do you have hrt
I am whole food plant based and have no menopause symptoms. I also do cardio for 40 minutes everyday. 5 7” 122lbs.
Thank you very much Dominique for yet another great and informative podcast 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I LOVE MARY CLAIRE! I HAVE THE GALVESTON DIET PLAN AND JUST NEED TO START! WISH ME LUCK :)
Love Dr. Haver. Thank you Dominique
Fabulous video Dominique!!!! Mary Claire Haver is a gem for all of us women!!!!
I love Dr Haver! I can’t wait to watch. Her book will arrive in a few days.
I love Dr. Mary Claire.
Thank you ladies. At 55, I only eat meat ( esp red meat) butter, dairy and eggs. Plenty of fats and protein. It was a game changer for me ❤
😱
I’m so sorry for your loss. I so enjoyed your videos with Audrey.
Great interview! I really appreciate both of these women bringing such intelligence to this conversation. Thank you thank you!
This was the most informative video/talk I have seen on this subject. Thank you.
Thanks for having Dr. Mary Clare, I love her and I love the Galveston Diet.
I have lost 25 pounds following The Galveston Diet!
How lucky you were to have her as your dear mom! I'm very sorry for your loss, may she rest in God 's peace forever. Love from Italy.
Thank you! ❤
Dr. Haver, TGD and Dominique are all Awesome!!!
Excellent info! Much needed! I watched some parts twice and took notes! whew. thank you
Hi Dominique, Thank you for bring us help and information to us that have so many questions about Menopause .Also thank you so much to Dr Mary Clair to give us some guidance in what we go through .
I have followed you both for some time now. This is a REMARKABLE and informative session! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and research ❤
The Galveston diet is ultimately a high fat, low carb diet. It resembles the standard keto diet in its macronutrient distribution, as most daily calories come from fat.
An average American diet comprises about 35% calories from fat, 16% from protein, and 47% calories from carbs
In comparison, the Galveston diet advocates getting about 70% of your daily calories from fats, 20% from protein, and 10% from carbs. The idea behind this shift is to get most of your calories from fat instead of carbs, or what the diet refers to as “Fuel Refocus.”
In general, carbs are your body’s preferred energy source. Yet, under low carb conditions like fasting or low carb diets, your body breaks down fat for energy. Evidence suggests high fat keto diets are more effective for weight loss than low fat diets among some people
However, the Galveston diet differs from the traditional keto diet because it incorporates several other components.
Would love to live in Houston and be under her care 😭

Thank you I am so grateful for what you are doing
I always get a ton of information listening to you both. I bought the book and I’m currently reading it.
Me too! ❤
I saw someone comment below about addressing pelvic floor issues - I would love for you to have a pelvic floor physical therapist, and a Uro-gynecologist who can help women with prolapses! There's help out there - it's not normal to urinate on yourself and just resort to wearing pads!
That was a great podcast Dominique. Thank you once again!!!❤
It makes me so upset to think of the years i lost health wise, because I haven't taken HRT. It's been a "man's world" almost a conspiracy against women. I am so grateful the subject of menopause is coming out of the closet. It's about damn time!
Wow! Thank you so very much for this. Incredibly informative and well delivered.
What a great discussion. Thank you for discussing this situation all women will have to go through. Karina Québec 🇨🇦
Never had a hot flush (flash). Didn’t really notice menopause. 65 now
Good for you ❤️and lucky!
Could you please tell me why menopause services aren’t covered by insurance? Even Dr. Haver doesn’t accept health insurance or FSA or HSA spending account.
I would love to see a video about the effects of menopause on a marriage.
I love love love love Mary Claire. She’s a voice for reason for all women😘😘😘😘
This was excellent info! Love Dr. Mary Claire.
Another awesome guest! This is powerful information. Thank you!
This was a great program!! One of the best ones
Thanks so much for providing education on this topic. I'm post menopausal and feel I have so much to learn about how to live the next 30 years in a healthy way. I'd love to see you interview Dr. Christiane Northrup, a pioneer in this field. P.S. I love the curly hair!
Omg, this was an amazing segment. The information was so helpful and so full of information. Please bring her back. Such a wonderful topic. 😘🌹
