@@jimcummings4342 I don't hardly ever listen to DVE anymore, the morning show was what made them so much better than everyone else, but for years now the mornings on DVE are just stupid sports talk radio, when I'm working I want to hear ROCK MUSIC, not two monotone idiots drone on all fuckin morning about the same play from the Sunday before, now they suck in the morning's.
JUST AS GOOD AS GOLD! Thank you sooo very much for posting and sharing this "lost and VERY rarely heard anymore" radio gem that peaked at #91 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for Donnie back in March 1985, sadly becoming his final charting single (it should've charted much higher in my humble opinion!)..I thoroughly enjoyed listening...and the sound quality is TOP-NOTCH too! Take Care! Ms. Elizabeth💿💿💿💿💿
I'd never heard this song until I bought Donnie's greatest hits album. Fortunately it was on there. What an awesome song! That falsetto in the chorus at the end is dynamite.
Donnie Iris final swan song on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts (# 91) & the Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts (# 28) in May in 1985!!! Too bad that this song NOT on "20th Century Masters: The Millinnium Collection" CD!!
@@brettrick8100 👍👍👍 Donnie Iris and The Cruisers, if you were a 16 year old kid in SW Pa in 1981 it didn't come no cooler than old "King Cool" himself, this album came out pretty much at the end of that hot streak he had back in the day, "I can't hear you", "Ah Lea", "That's the way Love Ought to Be", "Love is Like a Rock", when I was in the Army from 83 to 86 and I would come home on leave I didn't feel like I was home until I heard a Donnie Iris song.
@@dukecraig2402 I grew up in NW Pa about 75 miles north of Pittsburgh but could get all the good Pittsburgh radio stations.I was only 12 in 1981 and I know what you mean I was in the USMC from '87 to '91 and wouldn't feel at home until I heard Donnie Iris.
I love this! WDVE back in the good old days.
Back in the days of Jimmy and Steve in the morning!!!
