@@rhino5419 still doing it, had a new phone now its broken so got a camera set up. And pike lure gear. Huge fishing and hunting fan. Just will stick to this channel and work on canal fishing.
My first pike on lure was nearly 50 years ago. About 5 lbs from a municipal park lake on a plastic Hi-lo. Still remember it following the lure in and making a grab just as it got to the bank. Had numerous pike since, many bigger, most of which I've forgotten but I still remember that fish on a Woolies lure. Magical stuff.

Love the underwater shots and the variety of lures. Apparently Pike see yellow/green very well, so those fluorescent Fire Tiger pattern lures work extremely well on them.
Once again a great video, I have bought some lures and i am desperate to use them i am just a little nervous on how best to unhook them, can we have a short video showing exactly where to put your fingers and what to do if the pike is deep hooked ect.

It's great to see healthy stocks of pike in our rivers and lakes. I sadly remember the bad old days when even the bailiffs on a gravel pit I fished demanded we kill them and none were to be returned alive. Even as a kid I couldn't bring myself to kill such handsome fish and I would release them into the Wey-Navigation canal which ran beside 'Black Boys' pit. As history has shown rather than decimating waters pike are an essential part of the food chain and in waters were pike exist other species thrive. Great video Graeme those new style lures are 'killers' I better get out and start casting a few before old Mr 'Esox' wises up lol Merry Christmas and a Happy New to you and yours : )
hello mate, i fish on the wey canal up at wisley, in between all the locks and was wondering if there are any pike there? Or are they only in the fast flowing river part further up ?
Hi All, the first lure is a "Svartzonker( brand) mcmy(mac mie ) color name " Shitty Ghost". I have 20 different colors but I know there are more which were not mass produced in Sweden. It's a classic,I am not sure but they excist at least 5 years allready. It is a jerk bait but also a slider when fished with a regular spinning rod ,when you jerk a bait you better use a reel because it's stronger , but like Graeme showed you can do both on a regular spinning rod . A nice feature with the McMy is that you can change the tails( different colors or when eaten) for us nice to make it a different looking bait. Btw the lead strip is a extra modification, it doesn't come with it, this way you make it sink faster and go deeper.
I am from The Netherlands but also in Sweden( Pike-Mecca) we are into soft baits now, hard baits work perfect though. Best bait is the one you catched your PB with. Cheers and happy holidays.

I caught my PB pike on a buster jerk, 55 inches 34lbs. You were fishing the " buster jerk shallow " by the way, the regular buster jerk sinks faster and has a bigger rattle inside. Great video guys.
That's 139,5 cm and would be a world record in length. I think you mean 45 inches

I realy enjoy all the film's. One day I would love to be able to film whilst fishing. It's an art 👍
You should try using the jerkbaits with a bit stiffer rod, moderate fast action with a heavy or Xheavy rod. You get alot more of the movement to the Jerkbait/glide lure and don't have to move the rod as far, more like small taps. Or just use the reel handle only, works good too. I use this metod most now, mess tiring.
I like how he keeps saying, "Not a big fish", and every one is bigger than anything ive ever caught.
Struggled to catch Pike this season. But you get them with your eyes closed! Great video.

it's always fascinating when a certain lure colour, shape, profile action seems to trigger all the takes each time every time, The colour to me looks like a red mullet Graeme? as for the shape, it looks like a generic Rapala Super Shadrap sort of shape profile without the diving vane. maybe the erratic movement is the trigger or the correct noise vibration. I have a few go-to lure favourites in my vast collection which I also use all the time, never fail lures. maybe worth having that lure made in a variety of colours like roach, perch and firetiger plus white with a redhead. I also tart my lures up with a sharpie pen which touches up teeth marks and also adds colour to the lure in places. also, holographic Christmas tape works brilliantly to add a flash of silver or gold to the bodies, it works a treat. great video

My dad used to make lures out of old spoons when he worked in a tackle shop not sure how good they are though
The first lure that you used was a SvartZonker McMy Tail.
Half right, it's designed by Svartzonker but it's an Abu Garcia lure.
BarbaMamma it could also be made by phantom lures if ur looking for a really good similar glide bait then I would recommend the buster jerk by strike pro.

I have been thinking prey that get the pike launching into action, I reckon a smallish sized rubber duck outfitted with a treble would probably be killer on a summer's day.

I think it must be the Kanji,that's the only white rod I have. I think its made by Nomura.
