Caught my first pike of the year on Tuesday with dead bait, within minutes of it hitting the water the float shot under and I landed a awesome 16lb river beast 👌🏻
NICE WORK!! :) Good skills mate!
Your first pike is better then my pb pike so well done mate 👍🏼
I think he meant first pike of the year not first pike ever😑
I love your videos ive been watching for 7 to 6 years and there still amazing i talt my self how to fish through your videos and this year I have broken to pbs a 49lb wels catfish and a 16lb pike so thanks for the great videos keep up the good work on both channels.
I love your videos! The hatred for Pikes is tangible out there, and everyone wants to tell you how to catch pike, without knowing anything real about it.
My personal best is 5,5 kgs witch is about 9-10 pounds I think. Taken on a popper at the darkest of a hot summers night. (August 2021)
you guys are the best to watch. I like Fox and korda shows but you both show the realstic sides of fishing with the usual equipment the average people have
Wow, thanks so much Josh :) it means a lot to be real and show it as it is.
@@fishingtutorials thanks, please do sturgeon vids
I've just woke up from night shifts UK time 10.39pm and I've completely forgot about my Saturday action from the lads great work and happy to see more brilliant footage in 2022
Thanks for this video guys. It helped me to catch my first ever pike at the weekend (I was so chuffed).
Great to hear!! Well done!
Another great video, you guys are smashing it. Lure fishing for pike is my favourite along with a ultra light rod makes some cracking fishing. Keep up the great work and look for to your next video.
Thank you so much - appreciate it. Yes, totally agree!!
Love you guys!! I watch your videos every upload including your main channel!! Keep up the good work.
Awesome! Thank you so much!!
hi carl and alex i got the book for christmas and have been loving it so far keep up the good work!!
Yay! Glad you've enjoyed it! Thank so much :)
Great vid, always fancied giving it a go but never quite knew how to get going. Having watched this and give it a bash on many of the old mill ponds and lodges round my way , my pb would still only be a Jack to you lads but hopefully have now mastered the basics and can move on to bigger fish this winter.
Cheers gents.
This is the first time I saw pike fish. This is another new fish introduction to me. Thanks to youtuber.
Glad to hear! they're amazing fish :)
Amazing video lads, thank you for advice and tips from your fishing experience.
Many more great fishing trips to come.
Tight Linessss👌👌🐟🎣
You're welcome :) glad to pass it on! All the best with your fishing! You too :)
Great video again lads, always good to cover the basics even for more experienced anglers who can sometimes forget the basics.
Yes agree :) thanks Phil!
@@fishingtutorials good luck with the big build!
Ah cheers!! Very excited...
Cracking video and a lovely pike Carl and Alex 👍💯🐊
I'm from Indonesia, I really like your youtube channel about fishing and it's really cool 👍👍
Brilliant vlog Carl . Great info yet again. Very interesting 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks so much :)
Just purchased your book, can’t wait to read it
Awesome! Thank you mate! Hope you enjoy it :)
Nice video guys. We don't have pikes in my area, in sweat water we only have Common carp, Tilapia, Silver carp, Barbel, Mullet, Catfish, Rainbow trout (pretty rare to find).
Barbel is quite fun to catch as they are predator fish like to pull and run hard.
just started pike fishing only law fishing had a few jacks but feel like it’s a good start to the year , love the vids lads
Nice one! Well done mate
Another cracking vid lads keep up the good work 👍👍
Thanks so much Marcus!
daymn! that last one was a massive beast!!! holy hell boy :D
Nice one guys, just got ordered the book too, going to try and get into fishing properly this year 👍
Ahh thanks so much! Good luck with your fishing Paul!
You’re right about lure fishing being all about the bite. So addictive.
Yess!!
I love pike fishing! Great video boys! BTW the musky you caught in the beginning was a short drive from where I live in 🇨🇦! I was excited to watch that video when you visited 🇺🇸&🇨🇦, practically in my backyard. Cheers!
You're welcome! Catching that musky was insane... amazing trip.
Awesome as always guys! 😎👍💚🧡
Thank you Stuart!!
Nice one Alex as well. Great video great demos 👍
Cheers Trevor!
Great video once again guys
Thanks!
We also have northern pike in Canada, hopefully tomorrow ice fishing season will be open and I’ll be able to land one through the ice
really informative vid! Still trying to catch my first one, this helps a lot thanks👍🎣
Ahh really glad it helped finn :)
I've found boillies bouncing across the top of the lake works or go silver fishing my local pond they sit under the platform just waiting for you to make a mistake.
Use spinnerbaits and jiggs, cast along the edge, search for vegetation in the water, they like to hide in that and hunt, rocks and fallen trees are good too, good luck man :)
@@milanvp93 appreciate it😄
Wow 🤩. Great video. Thanks 👍
Bought your book! Looking forward to reading it 🎣
Thank you so much :) hope you enjoy it!!
Sick video guys. Those takes were insane 🎣👍
Appreciate it!! I know right
good stuff boy's, happy new year to you both, 👍
ever thought about doing something like angling times where viewers send you in there biggest catches and you do a vid on them
Me and my son will go pike fishing soon, we’re both new to angling so the prospect of pike fishing makes me nervous as we’ve been cutting our teeth with Roach, Rudd, Perch and Tench. Pike seems levels above that! Your videos are brilliant and me and the boy are massive fans. Thanks for your content!
I started pike fishing with my son about 2 years ago, my biggest tip is learn how to handle them before you go, unhooking them isn't always the easiest task especially if you're not prepared for it.
Yes they're a level up for sure! Absolutely agree, enjoy the easier to manage fish first. Yes, pike must be handled carefully, and can graze your hand if not held under the gill plate strongly and confidently, sometimes even then it's very likely to have a little graze from the rough part inside their gill. Good luck for catching one. Let us know if you manage to get one!
Amazing video. Well done guys 👍🏻
Thanks so much!! :)
Nice to see the old reliable lure made it to the video. What legend gave you that! 😉
Kennieee!
such a great vid
Fantastic catch 👏 keep the good work up yous or Fantastic respect 👊 from North east Sunderland
Thanks so much! :)
just watched your video and caught my first pike because of you thank you very much.
That is awesome! Well done!!
Brought a load of lures last year as really want to catch a pike on the lure nothing on them yet but I will persevere with it as it looks awesome especially to see the pike take it
Hello from Ireland 🇮🇪 great video guys Happy New Year
Same to you! :)
Another great video lads, I have never caught a pike always wanted to catch one.
Good luck for your first pike! :)
Quality as always gents 👌🏻
Cheers Mic!
I guess because it was the first way I learned how to fish that I like bobber fishing so much. Well that and I get so excited watching that float bounce and then disappear.
biggest i have ever seen live is 34,07lb took my dad piking hes a carp/river fisherman not predator his 2nd trip out he hooked into this monster in jan temp was 4 degrees snow on the ground fish of a lifetime from the broads gutted i set him up and our baits was 10ft apart and he had a 18lb one aswell i had 3 in 2 sessions 4lb 7lb and about 9lb lol same rigs and everything lol
Lads l love your videos. Best on UA-cam. From Ireland 🇮🇪
Wow, thank you... Appreciate that greatly :)
@@fishingtutorials You are very welcome. God bless ye.
Must have pike lures: soft plastics with offsets and topwater frogs. Casting these into shallow vegetation on a summer evening is some of the most exciting fishing out there!
This was really useful especially the deadbait fishing part
Glad to hear it helped Tomas :)
Can you guys do a video on fishing for pike in the middle of summer? I love fishing and pike are my favourite. But I hate the cold and it seems that winter is the best time to target pike. Love the videos guys keep it up!
Great video
love the vids
Cheers Doug!! :)
Nice Video, your videos really help me
Cheers Lukas! Glad they help :)
Cought all my pikes on a simple small spinners 😂 tried so many different fish lures, spoons, big small whatever but had only luck with small black and red spinners
Thanks Carp and Alex i always do lure fishing for pike and catch a few i am new to dead bait fishing and needed some tips really appreciate it thank you so much :)
Carp and Alex :D
hehe
Sorry meant carl not carp lol sorry
@@kriugeris12345 didnt mean to spell it like that lol
That happens all the time!!
You guys should try pke on the fly. Great way to catch a big pike. HNY keep it up ... you both do an incredible job!
You too!! Really! Sounds very interesting! Cheers Victor :)
My go to method has always been a wobbled deadbait, if there's a fish in the swim it rarely fails.
so good
Dudes, really great content. Quick question that I haven't been able to get a solid answer on as the internet is filled with opposing info. In your experience, what effect does barometric pressure have on pike fishing specifically? Better in low, or falling - steady - high or rising?
Awesome thanks 👍
You're welcome mate! 👍
@@fishingtutorials they are really some of the best informative videos out there.
Ah man, thank you for the feedback, so glad to hear that.
My wish for this year is that Carl and Alex go dry fly fishing trout and grayling :D
you made me want to go pike fishing
Hi guys just wondering what baitcaster rod and reel setup you use. Keep up the great work on the second Channel and tight lines
Love the idea of pike fishing but never been brave enough to give it a try!!! Great video, may well give the confidence to try. Thanks
What kind of lure rod do you use ?
I'm looking for a new one ☺️
Fantastic content as per fellas keep it up ! ❤️
a cool vid idea might be how to use different lures, personally i think it would be pretty helpful
Jay Siemens cameo!!!
Great video yet again. Just bought your book too.
Could you possibly do a video on understanding licences? I'm finding it difficult where I can fish and where to get a license to fish a particular stretch of water, day tickets, can I fish in canals with just a yearly fishing license or do I need an additional ticket etc. Thank you in advance
This video really helped me. Thanks guys 😁
U didn't even watch it. The vid is 12 mins long and u commented 4 mins after being posted. Just shows ur not a real fan like myself 💪🏼
@@fishwithdylan5199 man i just hopped to the section witch i was interested to 😁
@@fishwithdylan5199 i hopped to pike location because i was in problem with finding them
The beginning helped me too pal, no need for negativity
@@itsgrinning. no. He said "this video" not "the start" so DK what ur on abt m8
Have you ever went to pool haul bridge north it has a 57 pound cat and the carp are immaculate
Nice
Hi Gents. Another great video thanks.
Any advise about how to go about checking rights to waters. Ponds, lakes and rivers. I have such a hard time understanding where I can and can’t go.
Great video , could use do a video on luggage u bring for roaming with lures. And what u use for a bivy session for pike .
Good idea - we'll look into it! Thanks mate :)
Great video I really want to go pike fishing but I don't know how to handle them properly and so I just do carp fishing
Check this out, it's not too difficult :) ua-cam.com/video/M1TDFGuDCUo/v-deo.html&ab_channel=FishingTutorials
Muchos y grandes lucios.
Buen video, os sigo desde Madrid, España.
Lo único malo es q no hablo inglés, solo os veo.
Sadly there are now some places in the UK where pike are so rare, it is barely worth fishing for them. Sure, you'll still catch the odd one, but you'll blank 9 times out of 10, and fish all day for 1 fish. But at least you can call in the local Polski Sklep on your way home.
Hi carl and Alex, I live in south London and have had trouble finding good places to fish for pike. Are there any spots that you have had luck with on the lures?
I’ve only just started fishing on the river servern, I’m aware debating using a float is how you do it but in faster flow it’s not possible, what debating rig would you suggest to fish in faster flowing rivers?
Hello friend, I am a fisherman like you and I have a channel from which I am writing to you, only that my channel has the topic of teaching young people to fish, but to return to the topic, your channel is excellent 👍 the only question I have is that I saw in some of your clips say you use Westin, and the other day I got Westin powertezze 10-49g, have you had any experience with that rod!?
I Know the book is not available in the EU, but is there maybe a way to buy it digitally like an e-Book or a PDF? love your stuff, so i would like to support you and add your book to my kit!
When your fishing with a float how do you know how far to put the float stop up the line because my float always sinks or something
hay quá
Does the float hold the weight of the lead and the bait above the lake bed ? ( wanting to fish a foot or 2 above the bottom)
I watched that Muskie one a while back, how big in lbs was that fish . & what’s your pbs think carls is that massive 30 want it?
Caught 4 jacks on a local drain last week. All on NYE. Great afternoons sport and was all about practice and learning. Still struggling with chinning the pike I’m scared of hitting the gill rakers and hurting the fish.
Nice one Morgan! Yes, I know what you mean. Exactly, keep practising :)
Caught my first pike yesterday was only a little jack pike, I've always been scared to catch them
Well done!!
I like using top water frogs or rapalas
Hi guys, I really like your videos, where can I purchase the book. Thanks for your help.
Glad you like them! Thanks so much! Our book can be found here: www.carlandalex.co.uk/store/ all the best with your fishing :)
Could you tell me which polarized glasses you have used at 2:14? Cheers!!
Black Korda Classic :)
Superb video! Off to do a bit of Pike fishing now 🤞🎣
Happy to hear this :) Enjoy!
What reel is that you used while float fishing?
do you guys have pikeperch in the uk ??
Can ye ship your book to Ireland? Can't seem to find Ireland as an option on your website
Sorry, unfortunately not :( Due to Brexit, the customs rules changed when posting to the EU which made it a lot harder and unreliable. We tried for a bit, but items just kept disappearing.
Hi, question, do you need any special rod and stuff for pike fishing or you can just go with normal white fish stuff? I'm begginer so idk
Yes you do go to your local tackle shop they will sort you out and don’t go pike fishing alone if you have never caught them before they are very delicate fish and need good unhooking and handling skills to return them without harm ,maybe contact a local guide or someone you know to take you out for your first pike session
@@dangerousbeans8067 ok thanks, also another question, do I need special rod for spod/spomb? I saw a few videos where people say you need it but I think you can just use a normal rod
Pike fishings not hard keep it simple but effective
Caught my first pike a few days ago, looked around 8lb ish but as I got it mostly unhooked it shook off into the water so I couldn’t get a picture and was gutted
What colours of baits pike like most?
Hey Carl! Yesterday I caught my PB Pike of 10 pounds! Also a question, is it normal for your hand to get spined by the gill while its thrashing around? It happened to me, not a serious injury but it bled a fair bit.
You have to slip your hand in the Gill plate not in the gills, where there are tiny little teeth.
@@canam2436 I did do that, probably because it was my first time catching a good size pike
Anyone know what underwater camera is used following the lures?
Water Wolf camera :)
