Sorry, but i diagree. With that mindset you just could make a 1minute 10 second video and earn a lot more for almost the same amount of effort you'd have to put into a 1 minute short.
@@premium960 Yeah, but what good are those few extra views if they basically pay you nothing. At best, Shorts may be useful to promote your actual videos in the beginning as you grow.

Well I would understand that UA-cam shorts earn less money because first they're short and second they have different experience since there is short feed. That also means that thumbnails aren't necessary and titles are less important, just the first few seconds are important.

@@typekkleks4013 when it comes to shorts, you can see one add every few shorts. This ad pays for several shorts coming before and/or after. well being a youtube creator isn’t a normal job you get paid based off if your content is something want to watch and people watch it consistently or you have videos which do well, media buyers are going to want to run ads on your videos hence where the profit comes from
Remember the VidIQ lessons... Videos are for viewers' value, not for the uploaders' need for better analytics. Shorts are short and they play on loop. They're not the same value.
The new shorts monetization was definitely a giant letdown. Over a couple million views and only a few bucks. Compared to my long form, shorts are a complete waste of time
I have a question. I have been trying to grow my own channel and wondering if my growth rate is normal or extremely slow because all the channels around my are shooting up to tons of subscribers. They had a smaller amount of viewers per video and also they get tons of viewers and subscribers. Yet I have not made progress like them...
I bet they keep on asking for watchers to subscribe for more content. It might not look like it works, but it does. Put it at the end of every video and also your bio

I’ve been using my UA-cam shorts to gain subscribers and get exposure (it’s been working out great, like amazingly lol) and then when I post my first long form video I’ll be closer to UA-cam partnership. I’ve seen too many people not get paid for videos that have reached hundreds of thousands of views or 1 million views with no subs. They have their watch hours, but no subscribers to get monetized. My approach is to help avoid this as much as possible. 👍🏽 wish me luck. 🤗

For normal/longer length videos, yes. For shorts/under a minute, no. TikTok pays horribly compared to this
Lol in indian you will get 5$ for 1 million views
What people fail to grasp is that it’s for one video 🤦♀️ most people post multiple videos daily! I’ve seen someone earn 3-5k a month!
Statistically it makes sense considering the low effort into editing and creation and very short watch times of shorts
58$ from Shorts is actually insane, the format is small so that means there’s not a lot of budget spent to produce shorts

For me Shorts are only another way to get more subs, and audience.
