I’m doing the same swap V6 A4 to V8 M6. How did you know where to cut?

This is a awesome series bud. Im just about to do a T56 swap on my 2002 CETA. I have the tic master and will need to cut that hole in the firewall. Im not stripping the car like you did. The engine will stay in and the interior will be mostly intact. Do you think there will be enough room to do it ( install the tick properly ) if I remove the brake booster?? will I have enough room to atom to get rid of that rivet?? Is there any room from the bottom to reach that area??? OR its only accessible from he top with the engine in?? Any tips would be great. Can you talk freely about that. Thanx.

It will be tight but definitely better with the brake booster removed. You will have to go from the top, the bottom is obstructed by the frame rail. It might also be worth it to remove the steering column extension while you are in there, its just 2 bolts holding it together, although they are tight as all and can be a pain to get out.
It might be difficult to get the stud cut off though. I used a dremel but had all the space there to get it out. You might have to get vice grips on the inside of the stud and wiggle it to break it free.
Don't forget some sort of firewall support. Especially with the hole from the stud, you will want to reinforce that area. I'd be happy to help with any other questions.
