Best thing I ever bought and I can't wait to expand it with the SP8. The autogain feature alone is worth the price! Sounds clean and crisp and much easier to use than my old Focusrite kit. Perfect when you're both playing in and engineering a session!
Just finished installing this with 2 sp8 units to replace a previous setup, seems great so far and the routing app is very intuitive and powerful. Only two things I've noticed that would be a great addition would be extra cue mixes in the app for headphone mixes to the live room (currently run up to 8 separate mixes), and a way to activate the smart gain from the control app for true remote workflow if I decide to drum myself in the live room.
Thank you for your suggestions! The extra CUE mixes might be a bit tricky as our DSP mixer that runs on the unit doesn't have any more channels available for more mixes but we can certainly look into it. A workaround here is to use the DAW THRU function on the output and create additional mixes in the DAW, this will introduce a bit of latency however. The remote Smartgain button is on our to-do list so hopefully we can add this in a future firmware update.
@@weareevoaudio Thanks for the detailed reply! Great to know the remote control for the smart gain is in the works. Totally understand what you're saying with the DSP, although, if the cue mixes are currently stereo would it make any difference to the DSP usage if you could split to 8 mono Cue Mixes rather than four stereo ones? Might not work but just an idea :) And thanks for the workaround with the headphone mixes, this is how I had been doing it with the previous setup, but as you said it would be latency free if fed from the Evo app :)
Having a mono split on the CUEs would be a cool idea, I'll pass it onto the team. You can already use the 4 stereo cues as 8 Mono cues, you'd just have to pan a channel left to send it to Outputs 1, 3, 5 & 7 and or pan a channel right for Outputs 2, 4, 6 & 8. Not the most elegant solution I'll admit but it does work.
@@weareevoaudio Thanks again for getting back and for passing that on. Trialled it properly this weekend with a full band recording, only other app tweak I found could be useful is being able to have more than the first 10 daw returns available for routing in the app, or at least be able to select different ones instead of 1-10. For examples, I'm running a surround setup on outputs 1-8 so I was hoping to run the daw outputs for headphones on outputs 17-24. This would make for a much more flexible workflow. Overall, great sound and a great front end though.
Hello, pls give an advice! I’m following the instructions, though after recording there’s no playback in Cubase, like there’s no sound at all coming from the laptop or the headphones connected to Evo, but some very low waves are visible in the recorded track What to do? And is it necessary to connect monitors or could I set smth up a way that allows to listen from laptop’s speakers?
Hello again, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your EVO interface setup, if you haven't already, can you please send us a message at support@evo.audio and our team will be able to help!
Has anyone experienced weird artefact noises from the Evo 16? I have a weird low level digital pitch 'whistle sound' of G4 around 390hz when I hit play in Logic on on an empty section. The note also is repeating just in standby in Logic with nothing playing. When I close Logic down the whistle disappears. I can actually hear the pitch go from G4 to F4 when I shut Logic down! Not audible playing music on Music/Quicktime etc. My speakers seem to emit an a faint digital F4 when Logic is shut down and they are just in standby with nothing playing through! I'm sure the Scarlett had before didn't do this, but I will check!
That is quite odd and does sound like some form of interference, if you haven't already, send a mail to support@audient.com with more information about your setup (whats connected, serial number...etc) and I'm sure we'll be abe to find the root cause for you.
Not to mention the integration with macOS and Logic Pro is outstanding. I love my EVO interface 😎

I have been using it for months now. I love the thing!
Thank you for the love :)
Getting it this week. SP8s will most likely follow 🙂

Not working as a class compliant device with akai mpcx 😢

What are the system requirements for Mac OS, I'm still on Catalina, will I need to update?
The EVO 16 will work just fine on Catalina. It requires macOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra) or later
🙂👍
