Love how you threw the mighty car mods jack up your car clip in there
I was gonna say the same thing! 🤣
6:00 OMG IT'S THE FATSSUUUUUN!!! Can't wait till you continue the build on it!
only u-bolts in the entire history of car tutorials that come off that easy.
I got totally confused when I heard the MCM audio clip, lol
I have an '08 Armada with 315k miles. The Armada has an independent rear suspension vs the Titan solid axle so maybe they have different pumpkins. I changed my gear oil at 200k (probably the first time) and never had a problem. Mechanically these things are solid. There's a reason Nissan named the 5.6 the "Endurance". The only things that have needed replacement are the oil cooler adapter seals (where the oil filter screws in) at 250k, starter at 280k ( you'll be cussing Nissan for putting it under the intake), the alternator at 300k, valve cover seals at 310k. The exhaust manifold is known to crack, pretty sure mine is but I'm saving up for some Cajun headers. If you don't have the Magnaflow 24" 2-1 muffler, you need one plus the resonator delete. The trans pan has a drain plug. After about 50 - 75k it should be drained every other oil change or 10k. It's only a qt or 2, just measure what comes out and replace it. There's guys that have over 600k on the 5.6 Endurance without a major overhaul.
I totally agree with the endurance part. I'm at 329k with only minor issues like you stated. And yes the starter is a mf to change
300 k, as a green sticker and license plate offroad truck. Trans went out at the 300k but it because we tried to made it into a sequential shifting the abuse destroyed the wiring connections.
Suspension is the only thing not OEM. Everything else is OEM and hasn't been changed. Other than the service maintenance parts.
The motor was pegged in the hot for 15 min in the desert trying to make it back to base camp. Still running strong.
Took a fence post or something like it through the front and destroyed the remote oil filter and dumped oil while running 65mph in the desert. Looked down and saw the oil pressure drop. Did a bypass to make it back to camp. Dam motor still going.
No leaks from seals... big fan of the first gen. Titan. Going to buy a couple more rolling chassis
My Titan sat for 8 months until finding this video. Just finished today
07 titan here. My rear axle had the same whining as yours plus I had leaking axle seals 4 times! Replaced the oem differential with a Tru Trac and applied ultra black rtv to the new axle seals. Has been holding up fine ever since.
What sucks the most about the 04-07 axles is that the payload capacity is embarrassingly low compared to the 08 titans. My payload is a measly 1039lbs while the 08s have double that!
Thank you for this video and showing us it's not that difficult to swap axles. Been thinking of doing this for a while. Although at this point I don't want to give up the Tru Trac and the 08 seals aren't guaranteed not to leak.

Me: I’m here😭
From what I know, there's no vent or some sort of pressure release on the pumpkin. So the pressure will make its own vent by blowing the gaskets next to the wheels
I hav had my 07 for years. It’s the atmosphere valve. I replaced it with a gorilla system that runs a tube up to my tale light on a filter. Then u won’t get water in your dif. An it will allow Pressure to realer. The stock cable plug really easy
Made my own out of some fuel hose and a fuel filter for a lawn mower. No more seepage
Yes!that's what I am talking about..offroad gorilla kit,tru trac..beautiful
Bro love your vids♥️💯can't wait to see the completely modify MGB♥️
good thing i found your video im currently helping my dad with the rear end and we were having problems but i think we got it thanks to your video
I have an ‘05 Titan and having the EXACT same issue. Going to get the parts I need from a junkyard. This video may save me and my daughters way of transportation, thanks
laughed so hard at the MCM sound clip :D
So about 2 years ago i rebuilt my 04 rear diff 2 days ago my damn rear went again ready to junk this damn titan even tho i love it , really do have a love hate relationship going smfh , great vid
Difference in the brake lines are due to having ABS or not. Each line needs to be separate for ABS control. Love the MCM clip, thanks Moog.
When the datsun makes an appearance, but only because its a table
Just got done with my o6 put a 08 diff in all by me self this video helped out a lot thanks
07 titan... changed out the stock axle for a Curries G2. For its plug and play, 9" carrier, 4.11 ratio... stock diff blew up during hard abuse.
Doesnt matter if its OEM or aftermarket, Curries driver side seal leaked after 4 years of really hard use. I noticed the vent filter was gummed up. Ambient temps around 100, sustained high speeds when it started to leak. Keep that vent clean if you drive off pavement.
She's down for surgery.
The breather vent gets clogged or filled with water. You must extend it
Yep. 20 dollar fix.
If a bolt rounds out grab a vice grip duh #VGG
Lol loving you using Moog from Mighty Car Mods saying Jack up your car. Surprised the hell outta me
Hey kaleb your top mount brake light (high mount brake light) is not working but great stuff love your videos
Kinda interested to see how you work on a vehicle that isn't a widebody car. Keep up the good work love the content :)
loved that Mighty Car Mods voice clip hahaha
Hope you changed the axle oil 👌🏻
5:00 RIP Fatsun
Happy to see you and chase together
did you check the final ratio before you installed? dont want the front wheels going faster or slower than the back wheels in 4wd settings lol.. wouldnt be good!
Finally, A Fatsun video!
It was good to see you and chase back in a video together.
Good to see chase again
The problem with the 04-07 rear ends is they have inadequate cooling around the differential, which leads to them cooking seals and leaking fluid
The problem was a lack of an axle vent. Builds up pressure and blows the seals out.
based on what ive read its supposed to be because the differential doesnt have some kind of bleed valve that most diffs in trucks have. So without that bleeder valve it builds up a lot of pressure and heat in ceratin situations, causing them to break and leak out of the diff cover or the hubs
all trucks have the bleed valve, and it usually gets clogged on all trucks, which is why the vent mod is usually done to fix the issue.
Loving the series 👍🏼
So the rear end on the pumpkin builds pressure. that's why it blows out seals. Drillingl it out,
put a hose on it,
a bleeder valve, some sort. you will have no problems.
Yeah, I was kind of wondering if that would work. Kind of dumb for Nissan to design a sealed chamber, with no vent.
@@battalion151R vent valve is on top of axle to the right of the pumpkin
@markandrews4818
Thanks! I got her home and someone already put a vent line on. Now I'm battling electrical issues.
Had no headlights the other day. Went out yesterday and they work. But, no turn signals, interior lights, seat power. The radio lights up. Will search for, and find stations but no sound. I hate electrical problems. Especially the intermittent gremlins.
@@battalion151R YW, yeah I know what you mean, electrical problems suck
Crazy to see that truck was originally sold from Action Nissan in Nashville.
sziasztok nagyon jó videó lett
Did the ebrake fit? And does it work now?
Wear ya seatbelt!
I have a 04 and the spider gear shaft broke in 3 pieces luckily it didn't hurt and gears but the gear get worn down very quick and the spider gear bearings get off a little make the gears not run together smoothly causing failer
The rear end problems is because there is no vent tubes in the rear end so it blows the seals out and will leak no matter how many times you replace the seals never had any problem with the pumpkin itself or gearing just have to make sure it has fluid so depending on how bad the rear end leaks you may add fluid every oil change
Because the vent valve on the axle gets clogged up,and I guess some people are not aware of it
I’m gonna get this guy a bar of soap for Christmas.
So I’m currently changing the rear axle in a 2005 Nissan Titan and I can’t find a rear end to save my life can you tell me what year of rear end you installed?? What years will fit my 05 titan? Thanks in advance
Having the exact same issue. Which year is compatible with an ‘05 Titan, I think he installed an ‘08. But as far as where to get to part for cheap (because a brand new rear axle will tax you up to $2500) is at a junkyard, a pick a part place for sure but use google to get places near you.
2004-2015 will fit. Just make sure you have the ratio the same. Aaron Hines also has a good video on swapping the rear end in a Titan - calls it the Rear Differential.
Seat belt Bro, your family needs you alive and healthy.
Don't need to swap the diff out when there is an easier solution to the problem.
They fail because the axle seals leak, obviously. They leak because the bearing cage/retainer (whatever you call it) warps and then allows play in the axle, causing the seal to leak more. Everyone just replaces the axle seals/bearings and then go out right away and leak more.
NO ONE addresses the axle flange/bearing retainer. It is the part that bolts up to the hub and keeps the axle in place.
Lol that MCM thing was so funny 🤣
Love the MCM clip!!
You need to look up a video on how to put a vent tube yes a vent tube with a 6-inch wire with a fuel filter on it so that your differential can't breathe and the fuel filter will stop dirt from getting into your drive shaft this should stop your ear in from Breakin! It's $20 go to AutoZone or O'Reilly's and get a vent tube and it in and use zip ties for your hoses and run your hose all the way to your passenger tail light I'll just help you build Lil daddy
Did you ever have a problem with the pinion angle?
Everyone I’ve talked to about a 4x2 to a 4x4 swap said it wouldn’t work 🤔
Mine is a 04 and in the first few years they didn't have a vent tube so it would blow the axle seals out causing the bearings to fail in the rearend.
Use rim tyre or wood as stand, much safer than aftermarket jack
Ayeeee that’s my truck in the thumb nail
Sober? You right right 🙄🤣🤣 lol jk u said solo I know
Great video.. that's how I did mine on my 2500HD Chevy LOL....
If it has a grinding noise it could be your center carrier bearing
Yeah they like to make drivetrain parts break.
Where did you find your rear end in Texas? Could you please post that info? Need to replace my 08
Problem is the rear is not vented . when it heats up it pressurizes and pushes the seal out. Venting the diff cover solves problem.
Great vids
You can afford battery powered impacts but not a decent set of Jack stands?
The angle may be a bit off but it’s probably super close
@Built official can you please direct me in the right direction for this rear
I wish they make a lift for my armada
Is the thumbnail a teaser🤔🤔
Most likely
Thanks!
Nice job!
I was like YOU GOT MARTY AND MOOG TO SHOW UP?!?!?! WHAT?!? Then complete disappointment.
Thinking about an '04. I saw where they had a problem with the radiators leaking coolant into the transmission. Not sure whether they fixed that by '06. The '07's were rated as good, but the '08's weren't. '09 were good again.
Nissan didn't put a good vent in the rear axles. This caused the seals to blow out from pressure... my '04 is a victim of this.
4 uploads in a week?!??
Well bob, seems they've got a reverse light out
Do you know is it possible to install rear exle from Titan A61 to A60?
I have a 09 should I be worried and are there any signs I should look for
There isnt a vent in the rear end, causing pressure build up and blow the seals
They didn't think they needed a pumpkin vent.... So all that pressure pushes out the axle seal/seals
What kind of front bumper is it that you have?
I have a 05 titan, and I replaced it with 08 rear was cheaper then the o5.
This is amazing
Chase! I missed chase.
The MCM spun me out
You never explained why you swapped out the distribution block
Thank you for sharing this video!
I also have 2006 Titan ,can I swap 2011 Titan sv crew cap BED TO MY 2006 Titan LE CREW CAP ???
I’ve also seen a lot of Titan owners with bad head gaskets.
Manifolds crack.
I thought it was because of the differential pressure release line. You don’t have it I think. I have 2 armadas no problems
put 16x10 deep wheels 😍
Where did u get that skid plate grill?
Not certain but I do believe nissan decided the diff breather on the first gen rear end wasnt necessary 🤦 on the 08+ they got them.
its on there just fails.
Nice quot of moog “ first step is to Jack up the car “
Not bad u be getting lots of views for this one noice
Nice ...something different 👍👍👍🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
I got scared when moog started talking
Cool
😎👌🏽 simple as that ...
Offroad gorilla @$31 for rear vent breather kits so you don't blow out the seals! Welcome
Seat belt!
Mcm ❤
Let me cut straight to the chase (insert photo here) I've herd weak seals are the downfall of the '04 - '07 Titan rear ends.
The seals are fine. They just leak because the flanges warp. People don't know this and throw in a new seal/bearing then it has slop in it, causing the axle seal to leak right away.
I think its the crap check valve style axle vent. Basically if your axle deep mud gets in it and it can't breathe causing seal leaks
Jack stands are litteraly 40 bucks lol
186k on the dial and I had to replace my rear end… it’s an 07
