Me too! Last wash it looked like there had been some degredation on the Synergy 2 but I really need to check again... haven't had a chance to wash the car for ages again!
Cracking video. Looking into coating mine currently and was keen to see if you’d experienced any difference. Looking forward to looking into your channel a lot more. Also from what I have seen, I agree with the post above, about you not having as many followers as you should, given the quality of the content. Thank you 🙌🏻
Thank you for taking the time to say that, it's motivating as I was getting a bit fed up with the lack of views etc considering the effort I put in...but then the comments are really a great source of interaction, and that makes it all worthwhile.
Great video and an interesting question. 3 months in and I agree, there doesn’t seem to be any difference. It will be interesting to see how they fair over a great time and over winter conditions. Look forward to the update 😁
That's the bit that's really got me thinking too! If I do the next update in March then it'll have 6 months of washes and weather... It might have had an impact by then.
Another great video buddy. I have researched this very subject myself and my own research shows no tangible difference between a generic coating and a 'dedicated' wheel ceramic. Albeit the marketing of such wheel coatings suggest they are more tolerant of the harsher/hotter wheel environment, my tests to date show no difference. Your video was better than most I have seen on this subject as you go back to the results after different time periods and do not just test after application. Interesting to seeing your results at the end of the longevity claims and to see if one degrades quicker than the other. Looking at the video, I do think Revolution looked slightly more hydrophobic. Great work as ever.
Thank you darling! I agree with everything you say (especially when you praise me 😁); it's the long term test that's really going to sort this out, and with the next 6 months going to cover winter use I think it'll be a good point to update at? I'd hope by that point that Synergy2 will have dropped off, but I'll also be able to test it's trim dressing ability too. If it ever stops raining.
Great video, I’ve wondered this myself too. Will be interesting to see how they both compare after winter and beyond. I’ve used synergy 2 on the wheel faces and they have lasted well
I do like this type of content, it intrigues me that there are now so many different "dedicated" products that, and 1,2,3 car family person will be spending oodles of cash when, potentially there is no point, hence the woed "con" being used. So, your results may just free up the purse strings for something else. I look forward to seeing your updates. All the best, Adrian. 👍
That's exactly it dude. I'm happy to buy something if it's got a specific performance advantage, but if it's not then I'm not happy that people could be being mislead!
Raises interesting questions. Which products are we essentially buying multiples of but being told they're for different purposes? Are QD's and waterless washes just rinseless washes pre-bottled and sold for a huuuuge mark-up? Are wheel coatings a con, especially as IW say Synergy Lite can be used all over the shop and Stjarnagloss says Parla makes a good wheel coating? Yvan from DIY Detail reckons they're a con! Products for plastic and/or rubber? The list goes on. I look forward to your update. I'm currently trying a non ceramic wheel sealant and then I'm going to run that side by side with Parla. I will update as i imagine you'd probably find the results interesting, if not even that useful for your specific application. Also, when's the Garage Therapy Rinseless update coming? I'm excited to see if we have similar opinions on it!
Yeah this is what I'm interested in! Synergy Lite can definitely be used everywhere but I can all say that's definitely not comparable to Synergy 2, there's a clear difference there. But 2 lasts a couple of years, and revolution should as well, so that'll be an interesting comparison I think. I'm interested in hearing your experiences too, especially on the Rinseless (my next video btw, although it's not a comparison one as I haven't had the time to do a visual side by side with another product, I can come back to that later when I get a chance though).
@@SuperchargedLlama wrt GT Rinseless, I need to do some more testing against my favourites (DIY Detail and ADS Hero) before picking a go-to product. All I will say is that the mere fact I'm comparing it to those two should tell you I'm very impressed with it!
I've used Gyeon Rim before and I reckon that would be an utter sod to spread and level on paint, but this Revolution might actually work quite nicely in that usecase. I'll get a better idea when I try it on my metal trims I suspect!
@@SuperchargedLlama look up Out of Spec Detailing. His video called 'I test paint coatings v wheel coatings' from 30/9/24 is very interesting and is one he intends to give updates on
I'm baffled why this channel hasn't got way more subs. On the subject of the video, I suspect any difference will be negligible. Claims regarding high heart tolerance I see as pure marketing hype. Wheels don't get that hot.
Firstly, thanks for saying that. I always think I should have more subs than I've got, which sounds conceited but I don't mean it that way. I agree with you with regard to the wheels and the "heat" argument, I get it on the break calipers, but anything else just seems made up. I will say that Revolution was thicker and it felt like it might have more solids in it, it was more like Gyeon Trim in a way.
Good video but if I’m perfectly honest I think the hole ceramic wheel coating is a waste of time ,don’t get me wrong I love infinity wax products and they are my go to company but 90 percent of my customers would not even know what it is and that’s being perfectly honest 😂
That's made me think of a question that I hadn't expected: are any ceramics really for the customer? Or are they mainly for it benefit, making it easier to clean the cars and keep them looking good for longer?
@@SuperchargedLlama I get the fact that it makes them easier to clean but If the car is done on a regular basis would it really make that much difference,I’m not so sure
@simonmarsh5007 I think it definitely makes it easier to clean, regardless of frequency, buuuuuut if you're doing it weekly, are you going to get more benefit than a spray and rinse sealant? Not sure.

@@SuperchargedLlama urgh I had the same thing with a Gentleman with a 911 whilst managing Northallerton. Those airbag jacks are fantastic...and expensive. I normally do truck, so we use bottle jacks. As far your Axle stands. Placing them on your Sub frame should be fine 😊
There's a lot of plastic under the GLC, but it's going in for a service next month so I'll ask them to show me where to put them when it's up on the lift. There's something really odd with the GLC on that the rear point is a single mount or something, on the diff maybe.
Really interesting watch and handy tips with the cotton pads , look forward to seeing more results 🔥
