Great as always thanks. I’m reviewing mine very soon and good to see the difference between what we find important and broadens my views. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful! Hope your video goes well!
@@heretorecord thank you. If you are bored some time here’s mine. ua-cam.com/video/4MFGrWjs40Y/v-deo.html
The colour changes at 4:10 look like it could be a limited range signal (16-235) being interpreted as full range (0-255). If that was the case a black screen input would look brighter via the link and a white input darker.
I have seen devices that send video in a 16-255 range, which confuses the auto detection on some inputs. That might be what's going on here as the white box seems to be staying the same brightness. Those other devices also soften the image a bit so it would have been interesting to see a full screen output while you switched between the direct and wireless inputs.
Interesting and good to know. I’ll have to take another look into it for sure.
Shout out to the red HDMI cable. Thanks Decimator. haha
Haha spot on!
Great video but what is the range like? Surely and important thing to review?
Will do soon - Just didn't have the space at the time to test it properly!
Does this system handle 3G-SDI Level B properly? Most wireless systems seem not to.
Would put a large aerials on this device give it a greater range? I think the current areas are 3DB but I was looking at putting 5DB aerials on? Would that give me a greater range?
Oh man I’m super interested in these, lots of great inputs and outputs, but I am a little disappointed that you kept them so close to each other for the latency test. I’m used the other Hollyland Mars 400s and the latency isnt horrible up close but when you’re getting close to 10 meters it’s really not great, and that makes it hard to calibrate your delay during streaming if they are constantly moving closer and farther on a mobile camera. But great video! I’m still honestly really tempted to buy these dang things for the SDI and HDMI conversion alone
Yeah I will do more tests in a follow up video for sure. But my use case for these right now are in very close proximity. There is always room for one more video!
I can confirm that latency being not good at all when Rx/Tx are "in a normal use". Not a problem if you just want to have a feedback monitor on a production. A real issue when using for Live. But thanks for the quality of this channel !
awesome great video
Glad you enjoyed it
@@heretorecord I wanted to ask what’s the best way to get in contact with you
Email works great... john(at)heretorecord.com
John can you use both of the outputs at the same time ie source in, out both HDMI and SDI out together to 2 places EG into switch and to a monitor / recorder at the same time
You know what, I never tried. Will have a look next time!
Just picked one of these up and cameras are saying they are putting out 29.97 but the mars says 30fps and puts that out into our switcher. Have you found a way to fix this ?
I've seen this 30fps "issue" with the old MARS 300 as well.
Every so called reviewer is lazy to just explain features sitting at home or studio. No one is teasing range or coverage
You’ve reminded me that I really do intend to make that video, but you are right that it’s easier just to stay in the studio!
