40ms delay is not true zero latency, Definitely not useable for pulling focus. Pretty much makes no difference than the standard

@@Muljika yeah, still twice as fast as their previous 400s/pro. I use a focus puller with the 400s, he complains sometimes, but only with fast moving stuff. This is twice as fast, and for the money it looks good. The limitation of only working One receiver/ one transmitter only (ie, no multiple RX's) is the omission that makes it dead in the water for me.

Any idea how it compares to the mars 400 S? Really currious!
Does this also trasmit to mobile devices? I watch a number of videos but none mentioned that so I am guessing this only transmit from camer to a monitor that the receiver is connect to. It would be great if it does so I can connect a tablet to it as well for client viewing.
As far as I know, no. But Mars 400 Pro works great with mobile applicaiton.
Have you fixed the non-compatibility bug with blackmagic capture cards? Let me remind you that the 400s pro cannot be captured with a blackmagic capture card via sdi!
We use 400s pros with bmd deck link duo 2 cards. No issues. What problems are you having?
Hollylands are extremely reliable. Teradeks are only great because of their latency is nonexistent. Otherwise, I can't stand the damn things. If Hollyland can cut the latency issues to almost milleseconds they'll dominate.
Why teradeks are bad? Just curious. I personally never liked transmitters with latency. As a focuspuller i dont care how shiny cheap and great it is, if it has latency then i dont use it.
YES! We haven’t tried this bad boy yet but we love Hollyland, we got 4 Mars 400s Pros for wireless video switching and they’re amazing!
Pro tip, if you’re using an Atem switcher, Mars 400s Pro, and have an external audio input from like a mixer or field recorder, delay your audio input by 7 frames and it aligns perfectly!
Except, the Cosmo C1 only works as a single pair, you cannot use multiple RX units (this is what I was just told by Hollyland ). Keep your 400s's

Let's think live production for a second. Never had any latency issues with Teradek transmitters. As I downloaded this video and counted the frames, it seems that transmission time to screen is 4 frames, video is at 24 frames per second so the latency is around 170ms. Now if you have wireless microphones on set that are routed through an audio mixer, not via the camera that is being transmitted using Cosmo, your audio will be out of sync and a lot.
But all is not lost. The latency also depends on the camera being used. For example, BMPCC6K has almost 4 frames of HDMI output latency. A camera that you are using in the test may have the same issue. The best way to test for is to have 2 identical monitors (really important, since monitors have different input latency as well) or even better, a monitor that has a picture in picture or side by side view for two input signals. Split your camera HDMI so one cable goes to the transmitter, another straight to monitor, and compare the two (do not use loop out of the transmitter!). This way the camera output latency is bypassed in a test and you can get the true latency of a video system.

Love your stuff, but in my experience, Hollyland is great until you have an issue. Customer service is a nightmare. No US-based support as far as I can tell. Every interaction takes 24 hours, emails require a class-2 code breaker to decipher and firmware updates are a huge pain. They make neat stuff, when it works. As far as this product goes, I'd lean much more toward Accsoon. Just my 0.02 - keep up the great work. Oh, and say, 'so long' to that Teradek sponsorship.... lol.
Wanted so share some perspective based on personal use: our church bought one of these for our roaming cam and it was great… for about 2 weeks. We get constant interference with our wireless mics and in ear systems and when you get up on the stage, loud static goes through all the musicians in-ears. Really not a fan of it in practical use.
Try switching it from “Auto mode” to a designated channel of your choosing. Find a channel that doesn’t cause the audio interference and your problem should be solved.
FROM MY EXPERIENCE WITH THR MARS 400S PRO, USING THE HOLLYLAND APP ON A SMART DEVICE, YOU GET LESS LAG THAN USING THE RECIEVER WITH A MONITOR.
A focus pulling example would be an awesome follow up!

Actually much worse latency, from your video, and based on the camera you are using, than Accsoon on a recent iPad or iPhone. (NOT using their terrible transmitter - just the iPad straight) Not at all comparable to the latency you get from Bolt family of products or Nyrius transmitters (which are less than 1ms - both are based on the same chipset). I do not know how any focus puller or remote operator could use this system. It's complete crap.

The world of video transmitters is really weird now. Can anyone suggest any transmitter with hdmi/sdi loop, 0 latency and a reliable signal for less than $1500? Cosmo 600 used to be a superb transmitter for its money, but now we cant buy it and dont actually have alternatives for it. Its been a while since it was discontinued and now all we get is transmitters like this, with latency and with big price tag
An outdoor range test is good, but how does it fair in a home? If I put a directors monitor in the living room, then go a few rooms over and up the stairs, would it work?

I have one cineeye 2s pro, it's cheaper than cosmo c1 and supports multiple RX units. BTW I hope someone could do a comparison video.
Is teradek really 1 ms only? That’s insane, might be a dealbreaker for me though…
@@CrainerEU It's less than 1ms, most of the delay you might experience is from the monitors internal processing generally. But Tereadek's wireless is very fast.

I heard the Hollyland transmitters are designed to be dope because being in China, there are buildings and all sort of interference so the connection has to be reliable there and it's pretty much reliable anywhere. I can't remember what UA-camr said that but it's been on my brain nuggets ever since.

To your point regarding the AC adapter and latency: these are VERY geared towards the live/broadcast market, and have become nearly ubiquitous. So many A/V companies are ditching 200' long SDI runs for these. I've done several shows with all wireless video (with onboard recordings as backup) that all went swimmingly.

I'm sending my 400s Pro system in for repair again for the 2nd time in less than 6 months. I'm planning to buy this as a replacement. Hopefully these work out better.
With that much latency, you might as well buy a product that is half the price with twice the latency. It isn't low enough for an IMag system so it sits in that middle ground of too incapable for a higher price and too expensive for its capabilities.

If the signal enters in hdmi on the transmitter, can it be recovered in sdi on the receiver, and vice versa?
On the receiver, the hdmi and sdi outputs can be used at the same time?
When the Cosmo C1 is used in direct usb on the pc without a capture card, can the hdmi and sdi outputs be used at the same time as the usb capture to send signals to other peripherals?

I have used the Hollyland 400s system since it came out for basic remote camera monitoring. No complaints for the money, and I’m sure this C1 setup would solve some transmission problems I’ve had along the way trying to work beyond line of sight in concrete or masonry buildings. Nevertheless, if the plan is to pull focus via remote, then Teradek is still worth the extra cost. The difference between 40ms in the C1 vs

I bought one from their reseller, to be honest, the latency is really great on this level. Sometimes I can see the latency to 0, but an average of 0.03-0.04. If you guys are interested, you can dm me. I'm glad to share my experience with it.

I wonder how it compares with the "Accsoon Cineeye PRO 2" wich is owned bye Hollyland as I understand it. It has great reviews. One thing you did not specify when doing the "latence test" was what camera settings you were using as it can really alter the performance. I think you could get lag down a lot if you feed it 60fps instead of 24fps.

Wait it doesn't come with a P-Tap Power Cable? The Cosmo 600 did, as did the Cosmo 1000 and 2000. So that's a let down. I was looking at this as an upgrade to my Cosmo 600, but I love that I can use the P-Tap cables to power them from my camera.

Yeah, I’ll be doing a comparison against my Cosmo 600. Might not get this new one because I think the older Cosmo line has better low latency. That matters most for an AC. The Cosmo 600, 1000Plus, 1200, & 2000 had
Its not an upgrade to the cosmos 600 as it only lets you use a single RX
I did a comparison. My old Cosmo 600 had 0.01S Latency, while the new C1 had 0.21S Latency. It isn’t really proper to call it an upgrade. If you want 1000’ and no latency then get the Cosmo 1000Plus for $2300. That will also output to two receivers. And, it also comes with D-Tap to 2-Pin Lemo Power Cables.
