    The acquisition of Thrive Themes broke my heart, I have not recovered from the shock till date

      Felt like we had such a great thing going. I can totally relate. And it wouldn’t have been an issue if the communication had kept up.

    Even though Thrive hasn't had any crazy updates, what do you feel like your missing out on with what they do have to offer? Just creating new things just because doesn't mean progress, so are you just bored of not having new things to play with or what's your reasoning to switching to something that has less customization options?
    My gripe with Thrive is I was hoping they would build a community platform to go along with Apprentice but it doesn't seem like that's happening. It's weird that Thrive Themes and Thrivecart both were acquired around the same time and the products have suffered because of it, that's what I'm really bummed about.

      Very well said.

      Spectra has only marginally fewer customization options for the time being. The features it lacks compared to Thrive are in their roadmap.
      As I hoped to convey in my video, changing for the sake of change or FOMO isn’t a good reason to swap. I personally was having compatibility issues with the rest of the tech stack. TTB was becoming increasingly frustrating for me since every tool that came along just wasn’t compatible. So many tools were embracing the block builder side of WP (which has improved significantly) and I wanted to utilize it. Unfortunately, many tools I use were also having styling conflicts.
      I’ve also noticed a backend slowdown since the acquisition. My sites with Thrive are running way slower. Editing with Thrive Aechitect has moments where it hitches and snags and slows to molasses. I tested on my high end PC, M2 Mac, and on different hosts to confirm it’s not me.
      Those things combined with the backend updates from Awesome Motive and the lack of updates on any future roadmap were enough to spark my departure for my two personal sites.

    I feel the same way. I hoped things would get better and even accelerate (that was the promise after all) but alas things have just stagnated further.

    Please publish a new video on your new tech stack. The we're some of my favorites.

      An updated "My Tech Stack" video is coming. I'm testing out running my Accelerator and launching this new course inside of Circle to determine how I personally feel about it vs. Thrive Apprentice. I'm going to check the data and analytics and compared engagement.

    Hi Doug. I've been having the same feelings. Have you had a look into Bricks Builder? Would be great great to know what you think about it.

    • @Convology
      @Convology  2 місяці тому +1

      I own a Bricks license. It’s one of the options I checked out. Bricks is extremely capable. Perhaps even the best in what can be made possible. But the learning curve and technical requirements are so vastly beyond the average user. It’s meant for those with a developer and designer background or at least a desire to become one. I personally want something simpler, more universally open, and usable (by me, clients, etc).

    Why moving away? Any product don't need to be with new big features update. Thrive Suite still works great. There is ton of features you can use. We dont need more. Swift to another software would only be stressed and take time - and as Thrive Suite, it will not be 100% match every time. I see no reason to leave Thrive Suite.

      Agree

    • @Convology
      @Convology  2 місяці тому +1

      If it were just a lack of anything new I would agree. And I do say in my video that change for the sake of change isn’t what I recommend. Instead of cutting and pasting my same comment throughout, I listed reasons in another comment.
      Suffice it to say, there’s definitely more than just the product going stale. Plus, fear for the future is also an acceptable reason when running a business that relies on dependability and a sustainable product.

    Why not elementor editor ecosystem? Guide me with precise reasons so that I wont get burned. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

      I’ve never been a fan of Elementor editing and I’m not interested in page builders anymore. Buying into an ecosystem that is drastically different from the direction WordPress is going is not something I want.

    Did you see that they raised the price again? The affiliate program is no longer recurring commissions either...

    The most complete set of marketing tools for wordpress and also as bloated as the others with hidden layered code from here to Mars, and the best choice to make when you have a shitty product then is to raise the prices, though i think awesome motives purchased this just to get rid of the competence and kill it eventually as they promote the other tool proutpages or what not.

      $599/yr is a scarcity marketing technique as I can always cancel and buy a new promo subscription and continue on since it's a license within WordPress and even if expired it still won't ruin your setup.
      Thrive is better off moving to SaaS web based for WordPress and they will thrive again

      There’s definitely some bloat now. It was always a heavier load than some tools but I’ve seen some new bloat and specific things added since AM acquired them. It’s a bit annoying,

    Thrive has been dying. The pain of moving away is hard, I'm secretly hoping they make updates, as having to recreate the quizzes, popups, A/B testing et.c is way too much to do.

    • @Convology
      @Convology  2 місяці тому +2

      The hardest part for me has been not knowing. Are they dying? Are they planning to resurface? They might come out tomorrow with a roadmap and features that catapult them back to the front. But it’s just crickets. I can’t function in the unknown.

      @@Convology exactly. At least Divi they are getting communication even though they too have a technical debt issue. Any reason for not opting for Kadence Suite or Bricks Builder?

    • @Convology
      @Convology  2 місяці тому +3

      I have both Kadence and Bricks. Bricks is just too technical a solution. While it’s capable of so much, it’s just not my style nor something I’d want to work with for clients. Kadence is great. It was my second choice. I ultimately went with Spectra because I want the whole Brainstorm Force ecosystem (SureCart, SureMembers, Etc).

      @@Convology , I understand why you’re frustrated, but Thrive won’t just disappear. If the new owners can’t handle it, someone else will take it. Thrive needs passionate CEOs and it can totally thrive again.
