  • I finally made the decision to remove the roadblocks and obstacles standing in the way of my ideal workflow and the experience I want for my business' platform. Here is my 2024.5 tech stack and what I plan to use for the long foreseeable future with only minor tweaks. I'm extremely happy with where it's at now.

The thought of building things really resonates with me. I love systems and processes, but until it's used and generating value it doesn't matter.
    Thank you for this topic.

I literally just posted this exact same thought last night in the Convology Community. 100% agree. Here's a little snippet:
"It doesn’t matter what tools you’re using. It doesn’t matter how simple it is or how old it is or how ugly it is. Will YOU use it? Can you get results with it? Can it do what you need it to do to get the results you need and you’ll use it? Then use it!"

Amazing video. Learned so much from you over the months. One question, what made you ultimately choose something like Circle over a solution like Buddyboss? (You might have answered the question already if your answer is that you're weening off of wordpress)

Back when I originally chose circle in 2020 for my community platform (wasn’t using it for courses because that feature wasn’t out yet), Buddyboss wasn’t (and still isn’t) compatible with what I used at the time (Thrive Suite). Fast forward, I can’t imagine running my business operations that deeply and reliably on Wordpress. I’ll go into more detail on this in my podcast that I’m starting soon.

Same question. I always come against this problem: Whenever I want to create a membership site with courses and a great community area, my first thought is...I need to have more powerful hosting for this type of website. Straight away you're looking at $40-$50 per month just for hosting. Then with all the other plugins needed, I think, why not get Circle?
Am I right in thinking this?

@@merman1979 Yep, add on the fear of losing everything to hacks, having to back everything up, worry about compatibility, maintain the plugins with updates, worry about a feature you want in a plugin deprecating, etc. It's all made easier using a solution like Circle. Even if you're 100% capable of handling the tech, which I am, it feels like all of that time/energy/mental space could be better spend elsewhere growing your business. This was my way of allowing myself the freedom to grow instead of manage in a company of one.
