The new box set has some unused demo recordings. They are very good. The same songs we know, but sung in a slightly different way. It's almost like a different version of the old songs. Great vintage prog rock.
This is by far the greatest version of Queen's first album. I have 7 versions of it. If you can hear any difference on FM vocal You must have the hearing of a Irish Wolfhound.
NIce singing - right on!! I am with you on this, the pitch correction is a crime - especially as they could have just changed the tape speed. I stick to the original.
Very interesting thoughts but I personally really liked the results of the new release, and specially the sound of the Red Special guitar which I myself own one. I liked the new vibe. I think they did a good job.
Nice review! The distortion you describe on the last song of each side is something I noticed on quite some different records that are cut by abbey road - as this one is. Never had such a problem with any other cutting facility so far. I'd love to spend money for a remix of their debut album but they just messed it up once again.
Same here. Except I have no problem. I love the new mix and will continue to play and enjoy both that and the original. The third disk with the sessions on is fantastic. Love hearing all the chit chat. Looking forward to Queen II but no doubt the anoraks will be moaning about that as well 🤷♂️
Well…. If they would get a good company like Analogue Productions to do a 45 RPM remaster, I would be thrilled. Biggest lesson from this release is that they should release San Diego 76 on vinyl!
pitch correction is a sin. there's some things you don't do. i hate that. i don't want to hear freddie mercury having his vocal pitch corrected. i am totally against this.
Yet no one has actually given any definitive proof that they have used pitch correction. I cant hear any. All I hear are a bunch of miserable internet geeks looking for something to bitch about. I want written evidence from the people who made the mix. Not guesswork from a bunch of online non entities who are only guessing.
Remix=Cash Grab!! The original pressing is sacred and a piece of artwork that doesn’t need tinkering with. You’re essentially just wasting money buying into this Remix gimmick. Go buy an original press. Leave the albums the way they were intended.
Exactly. I’m sure Brian & Roger don’t need MORE money. I’m sure they are racking in the money via the music platforms. I won’t be listening to this remix. Give me the original version every time.
Just like back in the day when newspaper critics ripped Queen, now the UA-cam class of critics is going to develop their credibility by ripping the new mix - this is the greatest remix of a rather poor sounding original I've ever heard. Now if someone could just bring life to ELP's three record live set, the muddiest, murkiest live recording ever made.
I remember when i bought Queen crown jewels box set that contains few albums from 70s. Sounds was awfull. I was surprised how bad it sounds. Not only first album sounded like crap
That was a great, comprehensive review. Makes me want to desperately listen to the new mix and compare it to the original. At the same time, the shortcomings you mentioned makes me concerned whether Queen's going to make the same auto-tuning mistakes with other Queen records or no. Because in my opinion, some of those records are almost perfect and exemplary vocal-wise, and therefore need no heavy tweaking on the vocal front. However, the better sound you mentioned in heavy metal tracks like "Modern times ..." makes me excited. Thanks for the video. Best wishes from Iran.
Thank you! I really am afraid Queen Productions will make bad mistakes with regard to the authenticity of the music in the future. As they have done the last couple of years. They have so many options in creating incredible live releases and they could hand their analogue mastertapes to great company’s like Analogue Productions or mastering engineers like Kevin Gray or Bernie Grundman
@@top5records796 Couldn't agree more. I listened to the 2024 Queen I mix, and it is unfortunately a sign of things to come...their new mix of Great King Rat, and My Fairy King are unlistenable. The original Great King rat feels a lot heavier. Absolutely, lots of live releases, not only audio ones, but also we've still got lots of great footage from Queen's tours in the late 70s and early 80s to make for exciting video albums.
The biggest issue I have is the distortion at high frequencies on the last track of each side of the vinyl. That is just unacceptable. The question of all the other changes they have made are all subjective. But the distortion on the vinyl is a deal breaker.
I was shocked when "The night comes down" was released as a single. It's clearly the worst remix of the whole album. We all agree that the pitch correction of Mercury absolutely kills all character and realness of the album. But what I really hate even more is the terrible drum sound. They replaced the original drumming with samples that just sound bad and sterile. Just listen to "Doing all right" - Taylor has this unique trademark of slightly opening the hi-hat when hitting the snare which makes the snare even more punchy. They even took that out. I mean, Taylor is one of the only drummers to do this and this has defined his sound. Terrible decision. As usual, this mix has been made to make Taylor and May shine. The bass is mostly turned down, Mercury sounds artificial but guitar and drums are so much in your face that it's obvious what the plan is. I love Queen and I have been listening to their records ever since I was 10 months old (my dad bought the first 4 albums as soon as he heard Bohemian Rhapsody back in 1975) but what May and Taylor keep doing to the legacy of Queen hurts me. I just don't get it. They are sitting on hours and hours of live material from the 70s (their absolute peak) yet all we get is stuff we already have over and over again. Even the deluxe version of QUEEN 1 is mostly reused. Prime example was the "Cool Cat" 7" for the last record store day where they charged you 20 Euros for a released track and on the b-side they put on the instrumental. Great, take away the best part of the song, Mercury's vocals. Sorry for the rant but I'm really angry. Great review and great singing on your part.
Thanks! And I completely agree! I keep waiting for a vinyl release of Hyde Park ‘76, of both Earls Court ‘77 shows, Houston ‘77, Hammersmith ‘79 and the a box set of the South America tour. These shows are amazing and can even be done together with a DVD/Blu-Ray. And still they have so many other stuff, I have no idea why they are still sitting on it.
I LOVE QUEEN LIFELONG LOVE FREDDIE , BUT Brian and Roger or Queen management money making! f*cking leave the originals alone! Il always listen to original cuts! They are the vibe of the time!
Just read a comment having a go at this as being just an opinion and we can all make our minds up - yes we can but I'd rather get some idea of what I may or may not be buying, so thank you for the review. And anyway another UA-camr has also said very similar things about it. I know this is a comparison of the vinyl pressing however there are three live tracks on the CD box set that would be nice to have, and had they been on the 2 cd version Id probably have bought it for them, however they're not and I'm not forking out £150 just for them and all the other live stuff I've already got - and who really wants or needs a CD of instrumental versions? Go see the Jethro Tull box sets for how to do a proper job on how to do an archive box set, and also while Steven Wilson is a bit ubiquitous you cant argue with most of his remixes that make the originals sound better without having to alter it.
Truly, some things didn’t need to be changed. But I only didn’t like Son and Daughter, the removal of the reverbs at the end of Jesus, and the heaviness of the drums in Doing All Right. Other than that, I was really happy with Liar, and especially with the guitar solos being highlighted at the deserved volume in Great King Rat.
@@top5records796 What's wrong with the intro? I didn't notice anything significant. And now with Jesus, another disappointment. Now that I listened more carefully, at 2:45 in this version, they removed some guitar solos in the right channel🤔
Well, my first impression of the new remix was positive. Second and third hearings confirmed that, and more: what was always a decent sounding album sounds even more dynamic now. Some moments (the drum intro to 'Liar', the heavy sections of 'Doing All Right', the solo on 'Great King Rat', all of 'Jesus'...I could go on) are revelatory in their clarity and impact. I can't recommend the remix highly enough, and that's from someone who has loved the original for over three quarters of his now pension age life.
Yes the version of “ The Night comes down “ that was pitch correction. But I don’t hear any pitch corrections on the Queen1 box set album, looks like people are just thinking they hear pitch correction on every Queen song now just because people are saying they hear it.
The drums are too overpowering on this mix. I created a spotify playlist from the De Lane Lea and BBC Sessions which satisfies my need for an alternative listen. I heard the 2024 mix once, i'll never listen to it again.
There’s a lack of bass throughout the mix. The drums sound very modern. Some guitar solos are too low in the mix. It’s a very clear but the heart has been removed. The original artwork is superior. It’s interesting but it’s a drastic change that sounds too far away from the early 70s.
My thoughts exactly. Apart from the bass solo in Liar and the Night Comes Down intro you struggle to hear John. And the drums are awful. Sounds like tin cans not toms. If they got the sound they wanted in 1973, it wouldn't have sounded like this. And why not get Roy Thomas Baker involved?
A great review. I've heard some of the new mixes on UA-cam. Freddie's vocals sound too modern and don't fit well for the time the album was made. I would be quite happy with a 70s vinyl (not necessarily an original first pressing) and not have the clarity on the piano, etc.
I will add this to the collection. But .. Freds vocal does sound unnatural !! It reminds me of Ozzy's last solo release 'Patient Number 9', where the vocal has been noticeably 'enhanced' and detracts from the enjoyment because it sounds too 'manufactured'.
@@top5records796 😀 .. I originally bought a ‘Fame’ version when I was young, but it was not an original, some type of affordable copy, but limited quality. Recently I bought the studio set containing the colour version which I do really enjoy. My thinking is that I can ‘slot’ Queen 1 between Queen and Queen II, but it will be very much a luxury purchase simply to complete, in my mind, a set, or collection of Queen albums. I do agree with you that the vocal has lost its human element to an extent and I really do hope that this will be the exception and not the rule with any further treatment of Queen works.
I think you are used to the sound of the original. this new version has more punch (drum samples) and sounds more open. The only think i didn't like was the pitch correction on the vocals, but when you open the mix and make everything more audible you hear more imperfections. Great review, Saludos desde Chile!
thanks for your review on this new "remix" version... you nailed it down on all aspects. I really prefer my original Japan pressing and dynamics got further lost more and more over all those remastered releases over the years. and yes, there are mastering mistakes for "my fairy king" and "seven seas of rhye"... this is quite poor and such distortion by mistake is painful and does not respect this epic and iconic album by Queen... even the box is quite nice and the book really is showing impressive insight...why does Queen not celebrate such an 50 anniversary with a decent multi channel release on SACD or blue ray audio, e. g. in Dolby Atmos??? that could have been a valuable release... so I see it more as a nice marketing activity to please Spotify and streaming community with a "cleaner" mainstream sound... I will stick listening to my Japan release vinyl and for CD the Hollywood records remastered releases from the 90ies...
it is P 10118 E, the first repress from 1975 and I have it since the 80ies in perfect condition...what also sounds quite good are the Czech repress from Globus international 1992 some semi official release.@@top5records796
Let's remember this is mainly a collectors item its not hachuly a new album as such I'd buy it there are some classic tracks on thay was just getting there act together as well
@@Owlstretchingtime78 nope, their best from start to finish. All the others just had a few good songs on them. Rest forgettable. Queen one is their heaviest
@@Owlstretchingtime78 I wish they had heavier song on Day at the races. I think they wanted to cash in on " You're my Best Friend" success. Album is good, just lacking what made Queen great. Their heavier stuff. Sheer Heart Attack was their best sounding album. Amazing few songs like STone Cold Crazy, Brighten Rock, Now I"m here.
Just for the record (sorry😐) and although it is a little off track (shit I’ve done it again😊) there is this idea circulating that Freddie never sang a bum note. I’ve got the feeling that once everyone is dead and gone who saw him live, this will become a fact. As one who saw Queen live many times, I can tell you it’s a long way from being true. Roger did state in the recent Jools Holland interview, subtly introduce the fact that he would often fill in on the higher notes for Freddie when performing live. I do believe that Roger can pitch better than Freddie both in the studio and live. But live, I fairness to Freddie, he’s not sprinting and strutting his stuff all over the stage. Before I’m slaughtered for making this point….. no one gave a shit live anyway. We were all so blown away by the show. I’ve not heard this rerelease of Queen yet but quite aside of the pitch corrected vocals sounding good or bad, I don’t hear anything in there that needs fixing.
Interesting point. I have been a Queen fan for the past 20 years and have been collecting bootlegs for a couple of years. So I listened to a lot of Queen live shows. And also; a lot of unedited Queen live shows. Mercury is a brilliant vocalist, it is true that the highest notes were sung by Taylor (but that was also pretty much the case on the albums). Thing is though; these are the backing vocals. Mercury always stuck to a strong lead vocal. (It is the same with The Who. Daltrey strong lead, falsetto backings Townshend). They just have harmony’s. During the Magic tour and The Works tour you can hear Mercury sometimes doesn’t go ‘all the way’ but that is just altering the notes instead of going flat. It is not strange if you take into account the amount of shows, the length of shows, the energy that each and every song demands and the amount of demanding songs. Still concertfilms like Knebworth and Wembley are legendary and I even think that we haven’t heard their technically best shows from that tour (like Leiden ‘86). Queen has constantly remained a very pure and brilliant live band and never let me down. The amount of shows in which Mercury wasn’t in best shape (like Berlin ‘86 and their Immigrant Song cover) are remarkably low. They were a miracle of live performances.
It blows me away that today there's new corrected? mixes of the greatest vocal bands like Queen, Eagles, and Bee Gees! What do they think they're correcting??
I’m loving the boxset. Got it Friday. Took everything out. Read the book twice. Loads of great photos. I love the new mix. The vinyl sounds great. Love the 6 CDs too. I don’t care what the haters say. Even if it was flawless they would still hate it. I first bought this album in 1975 and its been with me all that time. That original mix isn’t going to disappear. Its still there for the haters. I have no problem with the sound of the mix at all. And no one has yet to show me any proof that they have used pitch correction. I can’t hear it at all. I want evidence. Not just some non entity on the internet talking out of their arses. I want photographic and written evidence from the people who mixed the album. And no one is giving me that evidence. Its like a load of sheep have just all joined in. Emperors New Clothes. So, whatever. I love music. And thats all I care about here. If you don’t like the product, don’t buy it. Its really that simple.
Why would they give you that proof? Honestly; I hear the difference. I went to a professional befriended music producer who is a Queen collector aswel and he confirmed what I heard; sometimes they are minor; but they are there.
_When the machines take over_ _It ain't no place for rock 'n' roll_ Pitch correcting Freddie Mercury is a crime. It's making his voice boring. I'm fed up! Everything is fake these days. That's why I've stopped listening to popular music. I don't care anymore. Instead, I've rediscovered my passion for classical music.
I am aware that the UK fame is supposed to be the best budget version. However, it depends very much on what you mean by "1st pressing", IMHO. They differ much, depending on the matrix. I only have the German fame pressing, but several early pressings (all considered 1st press) and I highly doubt, that the fame pressing is better than i.e. the Huggypoo pressing (especially the very first one, which is made from the same stampers as the promo. And those are not expensive, (especially compared to the laminated versions around, that now go for insane money, but only have a different sleeve).
the worst pitch correction made in my fairy king (they lowered them...) but If i forget about these things with Freddie's voice, May's guitar sounds quite intresting (outro of keep yourself alive for example), we've got some new vocal lines (just before bass solo in Liar)
Are you a fan of any remixes? Like the Beatles, Jethro Tull, Genesis, King Crimson? Did you like what Jon Astley did with the Who catalog? Those albums were remixed in the '90s
Steve Wilson did an excellent job with the Tull records, Crim sounds great, too. The Beatles was outstanding along with Genesis and The Moody Blues. All of those were well worth the money...I've now listened to this Queen remix (having been a huge fan since '75 when I was 12 years old) and I've heard every song on this record at least a thousand times. I don't like it...they didn't do it right. It sounds amateurish...like those first batch of bad remasters they did in the 90s. I think the 2011 clean up of all the early Queen albums is good enough for me. The drums on this record were pretty weak and if they were going to fix anything on this album, that should have been it and it alone, IMO.
Completely agree! That’s what they said about the 2018 remix of The White Album; “To take it into the current day and age”. I always thought it was already there.
Thanks for the video, although you've probably got the best sounding original album's master cut, that is probably the best that album can ever sound due to the so-so recording and mix by Trident/Roy Thomas Baker/John Anthony, not the cutting engineer's fault. Yes a remix was probably a nice idea to try. However the new album is horrible though and a lesson in how not to do a remix (the usual 3 QPL engineers were involved). Dynamics absent, Drums overblown and panned too wide across the soundstage, guitar parts less prominent and cutting (amazingly as Brian May signed this off), John Deacon's bass even more buried and Freddie's vocals also less prominent and pitch-corrected unnecessarily. Little parts like the handclaps on the Liar intro completely turned down whilst the drums are bashing away - poor choices. Freddie and Brian are the main stars of the album and they've been suppressed. Strange. Time to give Giles Martin/Steven Wilson or someone else a chance to do any further remixing (won't happen with QPL though). Queen II and Jazz would have been my next choices but not if they're going to be as disastrous as this.
I'm with you, man. Queen ll is my favorite of theirs and I really like the 2011 remaster of it. When they released Jazz I knew their prog/glam/metal days were over, therefore I really didn't like that album so much. However, with a much better sound I think I'd appreciate it. Hopefully Brian and Roger get the message loud and clear not to screw the next ones they do this badly...fire the guys that made this mess. Steven Wilson, man...if he can do it to Tull, he can do it to Queen.
I completely disagree with this review. I know this for almost 50 years now and this is a great improvement. The first dutch pressing sounds terrible. The abbey road mix sounds way better . And this is a remix. The comments on Freddie’s vocals.. when I listened to it the first time I didn’t even notice there was worked on. I noticed the sparkling guitar sound and heavy drums.. haha and Great King Rat is one of the best on this record.. but hey, different people, different opinions. No distortion over here.. better check your equipment
@ oh yes, you’re right about that. Still love the new remix. Played it several times to trie to listen to the pieces people are so critical about.. i don’t have any objections what they did with it. Maybe i am deaf 🤪 better put my thorens td1500 away
You're right. This new mix is A LOT more clear. I LOVE the first record because it SOUNDS like 1973.....but it was a bit muddy. This new mix is brighter and more dynamic. I'm hearing parts that were present originally in ways that were obscured on the first mix. I TOTALLY Dig it !! I have all the original mixes on vinyl & cd so I don't have the objections. It's just another source. Like listening to a concert or their BBC sessions.
I listened to the entire album a couple times; I do realize my ears need to adjust to this new mix having heard the original for so many years. If I ignore the pitch corrected vocals and unnatural sounding drums, my biggest gripe is the bass guitar is harder to make out in these mixes compared to the original. The dynamics overall are too even compared to the original which is good at times but missing some moments of impact the original mixes had. If they would have been a bit more diligent/careful I think this could have been a REALLY cool release and may have even trumped the original, but with the flaws I mentioned I will definitely be sticking to the OG. Also, I agree that Jesus has more balls and rocks much better than the original.
dynamically destroyed - but remember everyone after 1993 - have been raised on loudness wars rations. That's including say those 8-10 year old in 1993 - when the loudness wars got going and the digital remastering destruction began. of course vinyl's limiations with dynamic range is key benefit in its revival in the shadow of the the loudness wars....but I prefer low noise floor of digital, and wider dynamics, so 1980s first CD releases are the Rosetta stone for this music. Even the 1994 first remasters junked about 4db to make it LOUD ALL THE TIME. And they are never going to be able to sell: now....quieter than you have every heard it before......
I am not one for remixes, but I totally get why this and Queen II would get remixed. They are wonky-sounding albums, especially the drums. However, I love their weird original mixes. I even love the weird drum sound even though I am a drummer. But it is great that an alternative is available. I will give the new mixes a listen out of curiosity. Great review. Very detailed. I do think the computerized Mercury is completely unnecessary.
I think a 45 RPM pressing by Analogue Productions from the original tapes may have been a wiser option! Because I do agree; the originals, although the best available, the sound not perfect.
Warning: the new mixes may offend😄 Yes they are both imperfect, Queen I done on the cheap and rushed because of Trident management and Queen II suffers from too much going on , too many layers in the mix thus compromising every instrument track making it muddy and weak. Best sounding track on Queen II is Loser In The End, open and decent drum sound.
I think that what most people seem to miss is that the band believe this is how they wanted it to sound. In the days analogue tape degradation of the original voice /note occurs on each copy and not just through signal loss but also through wow and flutter which affects note pitch. The original album that I still have sounds muddy and indistinct the newer version has clarity. Yes the drums are loud becauae they are a loud instrument and Roger Taylor hit them hard A quote from Brian stated he hadn't seen anyone hit the drums as hard as Roger... Possibly leading to the issues he has with wrists presently.
Don’t like the drums on the new mix, especially liar and great king rat. They must be new recording by rodger? The only track to improve is son and daughter which sounds immense, the original sound of the main riff was too flat but is much bigger and fleshed out
Why they do it again? You Release twenty years olny garbage. The 90th CD remastered was the best so far. 2011 issue was terrible, beside Same the Stones. I believe the 90th remaster was never on Vinyl. So, lets do again, easy money.

I don't hear the pitch correction that some people are talking about. I love that the track Mad the Swine was prooerly put back in the running order of this record. I also have the 2011 remaster and this 2024 version is far superior and the best mix of Queen.
We're all capable of figuring out for ourselves whether we like something, by _experiencing_ it, not by living vicariously through these "reviewers", who are simply looking for cheap fame. And before you retort: why did _I_ watch (five seconds) of this? Because I take pleasure from exposing the pointlessness - and underlying motive - of "review" videos.
Well, it is a costly experience which one had to pay money for. We can never buy every reissue out there and therefore reviews can be helpful. If you take pleasure in exposing pointlessness please watch more than 5 seconds and go use arguments and reasoning. You’re not achieving much by what you are doing right now.
The snare, toms and possibly the bass drum have all been replaced by samples which sound nothing like a human playing. Just listen to the outro of Great King Rat. Shame.
Pitchcorrection on Freddie’s performances is blasphemy. Thanks for the warnings.
False.
They should have got Steven Wilson to do the remix - he respects music and music history
it sounds like it’s been mixed by a drummer and a guitarist. which is great and exciting. but it’s absolute sacrilege fcking with Freddy’s voice.
I really don’t get how some people can’t hear the pitch correction, but they argue that it wasn’t used.
I really don't understand why they want to mess with such a brilliant album. It was great to begin with.

I like it 🤷♂️. Also I hear no pitch correction
Thank you!
Did you also like the intro on Liar?
@@top5records796 What's wrong with the intro? I didn't notice anything significant. And now with Jesus, another disappointment. Now that I listened more carefully, at 2:45 in this version, they removed some guitar solos in the right channel🤔
…Great insight…didn’t even know the album existed
I agree at 100%
Well, my first impression of the new remix was positive.
They should not have auto tuned Freddie Mercury's vocals, not acceptable!!

Why mend something that wasn't broke l still play original from 1973 this is crap
Yes the version of “ The Night comes down “ that was pitch correction. But I don’t hear any pitch corrections on the Queen1 box set album, looks like people are just thinking they hear pitch correction on every Queen song now just because people are saying they hear it.
No there are absolutely a lot of pitch corrections.
I agree with you.
Great Album Remix!
2025 is the year of 50th birthday of Bohemian Rhapsody.
I am full of uneasiness.
Well… a 45 RPM Analogue Productions remaster from A Night of the Opera would be a real treasure!
No one should ever mess with freddies voice...let it be !
@@MrUnmutual2014 It does have a bit more bottom on the vinyl I thought. Dunno. It’s a pretty interesting mix but the drums have a lot to be desired!

absolutely love the new mixes, so much better than the original LP. Wonderful music the way it should have been. Bravo!
A great review. I've heard some of the new mixes on UA-cam. Freddie's vocals sound too modern and don't fit well for the time the album was made.
I would be quite happy with a 70s vinyl (not necessarily an original first pressing) and not have the clarity on the piano, etc.
Thank you! I think going for a 70s pressing is your best shot!
Freddie sounds great throughout the new mix.
I will add this to the collection. But .. Freds vocal does sound unnatural !! It reminds me of Ozzy's last solo release 'Patient Number 9', where the vocal has been noticeably 'enhanced' and detracts from the enjoyment because it sounds too 'manufactured'.
Hmmm interesting! So why do you add it to the collection? I just heard that the Fame reissue is supposedly also very good!
Thanks! Is it a 1973 Japanese pressing?
it is P 10118 E, the first repress from 1975 and I have it since the 80ies in perfect condition...what also sounds quite good are the Czech repress from Globus international 1992 some semi official release.@@top5records796

@SteveBurk I dig all their '70s albums, but after many years have settled on 'A Day At The Races'. All subjective of course!
@@Owlstretchingtime78 I wish they had heavier song on Day at the races. I think they wanted to cash in on " You're my Best Friend" success. Album is good, just lacking what made Queen great. Pitch correction is an insult to Mercury.
Completely agree!
Good job there is none then.
I prefer the sound of the original mix, it snarls, where the new mix just sounds too polite.
Good point! I agree!
_When the machines take over_
_It ain't no place for rock 'n' roll_
Pitch correcting Freddie Mercury is a crime.
It's making his voice boring.
I'm fed up! Everything is fake these days. That's why I've stopped listening to popular music. I don't care anymore. Instead, I've rediscovered my passion for classical music.
It’s proper hardrock. Love it!
The UK EMI Fame reissue supposedly sounds better than the UK 1st pressing.
Thanks! I see it pretty often and will give it a try!
I have the pair of them. The UK original version is better.
And those are not expensive, (especially compared to the laminated versions around, that now go for insane money, but only have a different sleeve).
the worst pitch correction made in my fairy king (they lowered them...)
but If i forget about these things with Freddie's voice, May's guitar sounds quite intresting (outro of keep yourself alive for example), we've got some new vocal lines (just before bass solo in Liar)
Some people just like to moan. Apparently it attracts “likes”. Pathetic really.
It's always bad to "modernize" music
Completely agree! That’s what they said about the 2018 remix of The White Album; “To take it into the current day and age”. I always thought it was already there.
What's w the 'click' I hear several times a minute while you talk?
But I am not comparing it to the 1st Dutch pressing. I have it… and that one sounds horrible indeed.

Had this from the beginning, don't like new version
I don’t mind the idea of a new mix! I think it’s a good idea, I just don’t like the way they did it.
dynamically destroyed - but remember everyone after 1993 - have been raised on loudness wars rations.
Roger estaba enfadado porque no le dejaron tocar con su batería y le obligaron a tocar con otra dentro de un sitio cerrado y no le gustaba nada
Yes the drums are loud becauae they are a loud instrument and Roger Taylor hit them hard
A quote from Brian stated he hadn't seen anyone hit the drums as hard as Roger... Possibly leading to the issues he has with wrists presently.
Queen- music for abba fans 😂😂😂
Love ABBA!
Don’t like the drums on the new mix, especially liar and great king rat. They must be new recording by rodger? The only track to improve is son and daughter which sounds immense, the original sound of the main riff was too flat but is much bigger and fleshed out
No re-recorded, but resampled. Modern samples placed on the original Roger´s performance...It´s terrible. No dynamics, no balance at all.
