NOBODY EVEN COMES CLOSE TO DOING JIMI LIKE THIS GUY. I SAW HIM A FEW YEARS AGO AND HE PLAYED THE STUFF JUST LIKE THE RECORD-RIGHT DOWN TO THE FEEDBACK BENDS.. HE IS THE MOST DEDICATED HENDRX PLAYER. PERIOD. NO ARGUMENTS PLZ. JUST ACCEPT IT...
.You know like all bassplayers know..Who can really play a guitar..Bassplayers know..You cant fool a bassplayer..Telling us you can play Jimi..OH yeah!! less than 5%..Randy is by far the best..I heard him play (A Merman I Should Turn To Be) I was sold, that's a masterpiece!! Randy nailed it
58 years old. Owned 2 nightclubs, been around many musicians, however l have never seen someone capable of capturing Hendricks' magical playing ability and stage presence like this guy. Thank goodness for u tube. Please come to New Orleans!
@electricladyamstaffs that´s really nice - before i played with Randy, i went to one of his shows and expected a Hendrix cover band and was shocked how original the feel and sound was. He really got the spirit....
Yes! He's got that Jimi playfulness and stuff like happily with the crowd etc. I've heard of Randy for 40 something years but I always thought he was kind of a joke. What an idiot I was. Sorry Randy. I'll make up for it.
I've only seen Randy one time, but it's as close as this planet can get to experiencing the real deal. I hope he keeps on doing his gig for a long time to come!
I've been aware of how phenomenal Hansen and the band are but had never heard this smoldering, uber soulful version of "Power of Love" or "If 6 was 9" until tonight. Oh my God--man it's like the heavens part when Randy plays-magnificent!
Randy Hansen...One more reason to be proud of being from Seattle...Anyone that wishes they had seen Hendrix live, here is the only alternative. And, really, you can always depend on him to deliver the best versions of every Hendrix song. Kudos to Ufo and Manni. You guys are all crazy good. Thanks for posting!
Randy is fantastic and the best guy in the world performing Jimi's music. What blows me away about Jimi is that Randy has probably played it many more times than the master himself.
He captures it not only note-for-note, but also the spirit of it, perfectly. He even makes it look easy ... I saw him many years ago -- in the 70's -- and he was phenomenal then. At one point, he threw off the Hendrix wig, and played some of his own songs. Sadly, it didn't work. He seems to have now accepted that his exceptional talent is as the ultimate Hendrix tribute. More power to him!!!
Randy Hansen is such a baddass. How is it possible for anyone to do Jimi's' trip so well? The more I listen to him, the more I admire him. And he's already godlike in my mind.
Always been a jimi fan since the age of eleven a long time ago .was into anybody who sounded like him Frank Marino ,Robin Trower et al,but seeing Randy Hansen in San Francisco in 1982 he is spot on
Just Like in that "Doors" movie you could see the spirit of this Indian hovering around "Jim Morrison", well watching Randy is like the same vibe.. you have to do a double-take like , whoa ..wait one minute .. for a second I thought I saw Jimi up there ! 😆 Randy is amazing !!!
WOW! this guy Randy!! And the band! Excuse my ignorance but I thought I was listening to Jimi Hendrix until closer inspection!!! I never knew these guys existed. Incredibly incredible!!! Far Out
I am the biggest fan of you guy's... im in illinois and been playing all over for 35yrs and seen all my hero's pass but Randy is still hear with us and makin his own music to with the best two guys in the world. I hope to get out to one of your shows to hear it live. soon. God Blees
WOW...!! AMAZING...thas the best ever ..the closest ive heard to the real recording fantastically played and outstanding performance by all ..brilliant jimi interpretation all of it..vocals ..feel ..all super stuff...makes me feel good...thanks...
Its called the web. For every kid who pisses away his life playing games, theres some amazing person. This kid quits school, because he is made fun of, he sits in his basement, and teaches himself how to play a musical instrument. That's far enough, and he's a better person.....yet he moves further. Now he takes on the discipline of his mentor, and achieves accolades that prove out this desire became his skill. Jimi may have more to do with this Randy Hansen, than we'll ever understand. ANYTHING Randy plays, takes you between your concert-live-standing in the crowd memories, and those LP's that you have long since been replaced, of Band of Gypsies.
Randy, Walter and please forgive me forgetting the fine drummers name, each one of you are such passionate and truly incredible musicians who seem to really love Jimi's music and each other! Mere words don't justify how great you guys really are. I would love to hear some original stuff too. In any event you truly honor Jimi and music in general. Please stay healthy, keep playing what you love. I hope you might honor us here in Sacramento, California in 2016 or 2017. It has been far, far too long since I heard you in Honolulu in the 70's. Blessings to you all.
goosebumbs.... again....as allways..... its a rainy sunday.....so i just locked my door, disconnected my phone, hooked up miss Pedulla to Adrenalinn and hope it doesnt turn monday too soon...
Band of Gypsy's was always my favorite of Jimi's. This was a great homage to that performance. The drummer could have stuck with Buddy's signature style better but still very good.
Agreed. But to be fair, The Randy Hansen band covers ALL of Joni’s work…from The Experience to Band of Gypsies and beyond. Props to the guy for being that versatile and complimenting Hansen’s amazing talent.
ufowalter I would love to see y'all on the Keeping The Blues Alive at Sea II Cruise, it's Feb. 15-19, 2016. I see y'all are going to be on the Moody Blues Cruise III from Feb. 26th to March 1st. You need to come down a little early and catch this boat. PS. I have tossed your name out where I can to get it in their ear...come on!!! www.bluesaliveatsea.com/
Jim K wow - that´s cool. Well, i think it´s a little late for this cruise, but i´ll forward it to Kevin Fillo, our manager. Thanks for the support, Jim.
I will keep tossing your name out there and try not to be a pest about it. Would really love to see them announce you on the cruise. Thanks for the response and good luck.
Te escuchamos siempre Randy.Eres fabuloso hermano, mucho talento y polenta.Abrazos desde pudahuel sur(periferia de santiago de chile). Hasta siempre...!!
YOU'VE CREATE THE SOUND CHEMISTRY, STAGE PRESENCE.YOUR PERSONA IS AT ANOTHER LEVEL,MAN.......................................................... YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA !
Very nice stuff guys!! We can feel the power of your souls in your music. You feel Hendrix soul! GREAT!!! Come to Montreal. There's a lot of people that would enjoy your tremendous work here. And there's some interesting concert rooms you could enjoy here. Cheers! :D
I love his Jimi tribute stuff!! He really does sound like him!! But I was looking for a song Randy Hansen did back in the 80's. He recorded a version of a song, I think it was called "Rock Hard: (not sure if he wrote it), but he made a special recording for the radio station KVHS in Concord, CA where I worked back in the early to mid 80's. I was hoping to hear it again. It was one of my favorites to play on air. It was KVHS' little prize, all their own.
Agreed that's because Randy witnessed Hendrix perform in Seattle 70 two months before Jimi's death and took it personal.
More Facts..he is the best...@@precbsfender
ua-cam.com/video/oXGddxDbOSU/v-deo.html
Tony Sammons it’s almost like he’s captured JIMI’s spirit or essence. Randy really does a great job.
Sure i saw Hendrix in Copenhagen 03-10-1970 and this guy is so much, and i cant hardly say it,just as good if not better
Neither the drummer or the bass player are any less than Randy.....they're all fantastic.
I have seen many so call guitar Gods played Jimi's songs but Randy Hansen is the most spot on, by farrrrr.
His voice is perfect. Great guitar too!
Agree, hopefully I will see him live.
.You know like all bassplayers know..Who can really play a guitar..Bassplayers know..You cant fool a bassplayer..Telling us you can play Jimi..OH yeah!! less than 5%..Randy is by far the best..I heard him play (A Merman I Should Turn To Be) I was sold, that's a masterpiece!! Randy nailed it
@Anthony Robledo Well.....nobody is Jimi(exept Jim).
But, he's dam good ! And he probably is the best.
@Anthony Robledo That's a bit of a stretch!! lol
Other than Jimi's, this is the best version ever... Randy has really got his soul into it..!!! Really, really well done, guys !!!
Randy not only plays, sounds and looks like Jimi,he also has his own showmanship like Jimi.Randy is awesome,l love this guy
Thanks to Randy for keeping the memory of Jimi alive
The thing that really put's him in a class by himself is the way he nails the Vocals. He is the whole package. Jimi would be proud !
Thanks randy Hansen for re-creating this musical masterpiece. Seattle digs randy hansen!
Finally, someone who loves and can play A Band of Gypsies music. Love it. Thank you Randy and crew.
58 years old. Owned 2 nightclubs, been around many musicians, however l have never seen someone capable of capturing Hendricks' magical playing ability and stage presence like this guy. Thank goodness for u tube. Please come to New Orleans!
@electricladyamstaffs
that´s really nice - before i played with Randy, i went to one of his shows and expected a Hendrix cover band and was shocked how original the feel and sound was. He really got the spirit....
Its like hey man I am playing with Hendrix!!
You can get some genuine Jimi vibes from Randy´s playing, he is great!
Holy...... crap. It's like Jimi is still living and is being channeled through this dude! WTF!?? He even sounds like him when he sings!
Yes! He's got that Jimi playfulness and stuff like happily with the crowd etc. I've heard of Randy for 40 something years but I always thought he was kind of a joke. What an idiot I was. Sorry Randy. I'll make up for it.
its true jimis soul does not sleep
so amazing!
A little respect is due to the camera work. They knew just how to capture this great performance.
It is very difficult to imitate a nonconformist musician like jimi but this group is incredible. I love what they do.
Randy is fantastic, best Hendrix cover player ever...
Randy Hansen...One more reason to be proud of being from Seattle...Anyone that wishes they had seen Hendrix live, here is the only alternative. Saw Randy on Oahu in '88. Kicked ass then and still kickin ass. You are the man
At this point in my life Randy is my favourite guitar player who plays my favourite music! Amen
It's so groovy to float around in the summertime
even a jellyfish would agree to that
No gotta bone in his jelly back.....
@@peghead I love that section, he brings it down and grooves.
I can close my eyes and think I am hearing Jimi Hendrix in this man's music.
Randy is fantastic and the best guy in the world performing Jimi's music. What blows me away about Jimi is that Randy has probably played it many more times than the master himself.

This is SO SPOT ON! Thank you Randy for preachin' the HENDRIX GOSPEL!
Totally unbelievable.....Randy is too good.....
When you look at this amazing power play of Randys - you understand how much music Jimi had. With love to both of you :-)
Always been a jimi fan since the age of eleven a long time ago .was into anybody who sounded like him Frank Marino ,Robin Trower et al,but seeing Randy Hansen in San Francisco in 1982 he is spot on
Robin in the 80’s, Bridge & Earth were amazing shows!

Captain Bart You just described Randy. Thanks
I've never seen anyone channel Jimi like this guy. Wow.

This is unbelievable sh!t, the tone, Sound and the vibes.....this leaves an impression, No Words
Band of Gypsy's was always my favorite of Jimi's. This was a great homage to that performance. The drummer could have stuck with Buddy's signature style better but still very good.

I have seen he live in Provinssi Rock in Finland 1993 and it was great. Bass player was Noel Redding !
this is amazing considering the fact that Jimi improvised all of his performances and even he didn't replicate none of his own stuff verbatim.
How can he do that!?....Unbelievable! Being able to get that close to Hendrix tone and so, even the voice!
And am 57 &and can rock with the best of them.
Still standing in the late sixties. No move forward at all.
How tf does this not have more views???!??
Amazing !!! The new Hendrix !!!...(the voice, the sound, the look!!!...)
Saw him live on the Moody Blues Cruise earlier this month and was completely blown away!
that was fun - we loved the audience
ufowalter I would love to see y'all on the Keeping The Blues Alive at Sea II Cruise, it's Feb. 15-19, 2016. I see y'all are going to be on the Moody Blues Cruise III from Feb. 26th to March 1st. YOU'VE CREATE THE SOUND CHEMISTRY, STAGE PRESENCE.YOUR PERSONA IS AT ANOTHER LEVEL,MAN.......................................................... YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA !
I’ve only recently found you guys and Randy is unbelievable but I’ve seen videos of him playing without Walter and it doesn’t come off as polished.
Thanks Tim. You can call me Ufo - Walter is my family name.
Randy was a Hendrix impersonator jimi Hendrix dad check out these. Guys and he cried. True story.
Wow! Live in Greven at 10.08.2019 at the 50th Woodstock-Revival Festival in Germany
His cover of ‘power of soul’ really makes the song come alive. I didn’t like that song that much till I heard Randy do it… dang great tune
Yep, I got to see Randy, Hanson, Mahogany Rush, Rory Gallagher,, Danny Gatton & Roy Buchanan in the early 80’s
Crazy. So good.
I swear when jimi died his soul transferred to this guy 🤟
Love it....
The original recording came on during my last acid trip and it changed my life
Great band 💯🤟
It's unbelievable.
Jimi incarnate right here. Randy is the man ✌🎸
I'm impressed. Great work. Hailing from. Roswell new Mexico
Very nice stuff guys!! We can feel the power of your souls in your music. You feel Hendrix soul! GREAT!!!
Come to Montreal. There's a lot of people that would enjoy your tremendous work here. And there's some interesting concert rooms you could enjoy here. Cheers! :D
+TNT Qc thank you. We already played in Vancouver. Montreal would be fantastic.
And I may ad he's spot on one of the best impersonator I ever heard .
Incredible the enormous resemblance to Jimmy Hendrix, his style of playing and singing is identical. JIMMY IS NOT DEAD!
Ufo...What's up brotha...Just close your eyes and let Randy play..If you didn't know..You would think it was Jimi...GREAT stuff...
You guys are amazing. I hope you all will tour America at some point.
just GREAT !!! keep on rocking, all of you guys!
I love his Jimi tribute stuff!! He really does sound like him!! But I was looking for a song Randy Hansen did back in the 80's. Awesome! Rarely hear this song, Crash Landing album, very rare and this guy owned it!
Randy and Eric Gales are the closest thing we have to Jimi today. They both capture some of his magic in their own way.
Spot on...
Randy is the best Hendrix music player , even his voice is the same!! Very good guitarist en band!!
