For many of us who MISSED Hendrix concerts and the person himself, Randy Hansen is a God-send.
Ed, sorry you weren't able to actually experience a Hendrix concert in person. I saw him back on June 5th, 1970, in Dallas. In all actuality, I don't remember anything of the concert. Well, perhaps a few moments of when he knelt down in front of his guitar and lit it on fire. I was only 15 then, so a lot of time has passed since then and I have forgotten many things. I saw Randy Hansen about 20 years ago, and I was delighted to find him and his band doing excellent renditions of Jimi's songs. Glad that you get to enjoy Randy, who is bringing Hendrix back to life. I just talked to Randy's bass player this morning, and he said they just wrapped up a European tour and are coming to Miami Florida next. Maybe he will tour the United States now, and both of us will have the opportunity to see him. Fingers crossed! ☺️
@@willg54 It is not documented that Hendrix lit his guitar on fire in Dallas. Do you have any proof of this?
Austin, no physical proof, only what I saw with my own two eyes. I didn't know they documented every single time he lit his guitar on fire. It had become so commonplace for him to do. Thanks for your concern.
there are people who are destined by God to carry on where those who were great and have died left off ~ randy hansen is one of them
I agree.
That drummer and bass player are freakin' incredible!!!
If Jimi was still here, he would probably look at this this, smile and say 'man this is far out.'
Thanks. That´s a nice compliment :-)
Methinks Jimi lives on with this guy.
What if he was still here? 👀
lol he might be saying it on the other side we l see him there
Jimi was there. I guarantee you he was.😌
This is the song that turned me on to Jimi 45 years ago. I never thought I'd see it played at this level. Randy Hansen is a gift to the world.
My God! This might be the most incredible band on the planet! It’s not just an imitation of greatness - it’s perfection incarnated! There are almost not enough adjectives to describe the sounds. I still get chills listening to these awesome musicians. Thanks to this band for such inspiration. Jimi, Noel, and Mitch are applauding above.
THEY ARE!
I've heard that there are 900 people who are in witness protection. Musicians, actors, sports players, etc. To name one, look up Pastor Bob on you tube. The king of r&r. 👀
Next time you say my G.. it may be too late mate, think!! think!! If you still can.. !!
Well played, over and over..!!
Throwing Dear Prudence, my favorite Beatles melody in is pure genius. The girl with kaleidoscope eyes had me singing and I can't sing. Bolero? No fuckin way.
Put a pair of head phones on, close your eyes and listen......the soul of Jimi Hendrix is in this man... Jimi has chosen Randy Hansen to carry on!! For those who have not followed and listened to Jimi Hendrix's music for many years, you will not know, but for those who have will know what I'm talking about, specially fellow guitar players.
I cried ,,,,,, absolute beauty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best Hendrix cover by a long shot!
No mere imitator is correct Randy is a legitimate disciple of Hendrix... he put a lot of time and effort and does Jimis songs justice...
Toatlly agree. A total love and respect for Jimi's material.
awesomejohnnet yes he definitely is a student of Jimi
Ben McGarity actually he even kinda looks like him
Greatest tribute to Hendrix ever I swear he’s channeling the real deal.
If you notice, he has a left-handed strat and he has strung it upside down so he could play it right-handed. That is attention to detail right there.
Randy Hansen gets it- it's not about copying Hendrix note for note. It's about capturing his vibe. Major respect.
Even Jimi didn’t copy himself note for note. His performances were ALWAYS about feel. Randy is just on another level and has always been able to capture that same feel.
Well said, man this dude is just jamming his ass off!
Right On the Money…!!!!! He can’t be sold*
El mejor
And he gets the note for note thing right on the numbers, which is almost totally about sticking key melodic statements in just enough to give a clear image. Respect!
I saw him play about 15 yrs ago fantastic show Then went back stage and met him very nice guy.
Watching Randy gives me the strange feeling that Jimi has come back to us. Or that he never really left.
This is my favorite live rock performance....period!
Oh man let’s have another Woodstock with Randy Band to remind of Jimi Hendrix!!!
I'm old enough to have been blessed to see Hendrix live. As a kid I bought his every album and hung on every note. He inspired me to play guitar and I've been trying all my life to nail Hendrix but I know I always fall short. Most guitarists don't even attempt to do Hendrix note for note, they will just do a version of him. Not this guy. He isn't imitating or doing a cover version, when he plays he becomes Jimi Hendrix. It's eerie, even his voice is Jimi. This is why the Hendrix Family have endorsed Randy Hansen to play Jimi's music
Wow - his voice is so spot on to Jimi's its downright creepy, in a good way! And an Randy's amazing guitar tones-perfect.
Jimi never had a chance to perfect is sound and guitar playing he only lived 4 years when he had gotten famous. what Randy and the band does is take it one step further.Brings back memories! Go Randy Go! Thank God for Bands like yourselves!
I used to go watch Randy Play in the late 70's and early 80's.............always great !!!
I do not understand why Randy has not got more likes for this unbelievable version of this song
Randy is fantastic - he is one of the best - he should be in the Rock Hall of Fame
How has it taken 12 years for me to stumble upon this incredible performance?
Same lol
I do a ton of shows and never heard of him till I was literally filming his show at the Widome in LA!
Same!
Yo lo recuerdo que era izquierdo
Amazing how he can not only play but sing like Hendrix! Truly a gift.
Randy Hansen is possessed by Jimi's soul. This performance blows my mind.
If I believed in reencarnation, I would say: THIS IS HENDRIX! THE SAME VOICE! THE SAME PLAYING! GREAT TALENT! GREAT HANSEN!
Believe in it. Hendrix himself said "is this the only life you believe in, this one?"
except that hansen was born before hendrix died.
Not the same voice but it has similarities.
@@mmedeuxchevaux that's ok bro - God defines reincarnation
What if I said, people can fake their deaths. How about mafia whistleblowers who've went into hiding? Makes someone think.
UFO Walter and Manni are the perfect players for Randy's playing. They are always right on time.
The Reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix. Simply the best Hendrix Coverband.
he's got the juice. the only guy out there there ever, that can come almost close to playing like the Master!
Eric Johnson ???
Randy & Co. Thank you so much, for carrying on Jimi's legacy!
On the youtube a see many Hendrix coverband , but for my humble opinion Randy is the Best ,he has captured the magic of Hendrix tone not only the solos. Spectacular.
Hendrix´s spirit lives on
Randy really captures the "Hendrix" spirit and like the Master(JIMI) he gives you all, or none!
As one who graduated highschool in 1970 and having loved Hendrix and his gifts to us, hearing Randy and this band brings tears to my eyes - TEARS OF JOY - Jimi's Spirit still permeates the Universe. AMEN Love to All!!
this man and his band are fi##!/^^ng phenomenal! !!!! I cry happiness every time I watch his video
One of the greatest things that has happened to Jimi Hendrix legacy is this man right here 👍👍✌️✌️🤟🤟
The very BEST Jimi Hendrix Tribute!!!!!!! Randy has it very, very, deep in his soul-
The vibes man, of Jimi.
Mitch would be very pleased with this drummer. He is good and tight
Is Randy channeling Jimi's spirit or is Jimi channeling Randy's. Play on Randy!!!
This is BEAUTIFUL in every way.
damn damn damn, this guy really has the vibe right down to the nerves..what a beautful guitar sound and tone colors, he even played the backwards guitar solo forwards, and made it sound backwards.....dude is hot
3rdStoneObliterum This cat rocks man if I listened to this on radio I would swear it was Hendrix
God I need this guys guitar rig man.
I'ze born n '58, this sounds and looks like Jimi incarnate! AWESOME
Germany absolutely loves Randy Hansen.
In a league of his own, much respect and love Randy, I love you
Absolutely love the way he tipped the hat to Joe Walsh and the James Gang with the the Bolero interlude.
Please come to Canada !!
WAO! This is the BEST Randy Hansen performance yet, IMHO, and I've been "following" sporadically for a few years. Thanks to YT, I now listen often!
So unbelievable correct playing the notes and voice of jimi hendrix , awesome randy 😲👌
Saw him in a nightclub in Tempe AZ in February of 1978. Just blew me away. Went out on the floor playing with a roadie carrying his cord. When he got back to the stage. He just sat on the edge and did a backward somersault up to his feet. While playing and not missing a lick. Great showman and player. One of the quickest players I've seen up close (2nd row). Even sang like Jimi. Bass player and drummer were exceptional too. Watch a lot of YT videos of Mr. Hansen. Thanks posters.
That´s great. Come and visit us on tour.
Saw Randy with Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding at the Whisky a Go Go in I think '81 or 2 with a girl i was dating who got me into the green room up stairs. this was long before they remodeled the place....oh the history in that room. Ended up with a cassette recording from the mixer that night and a roll of 35mm stills I took. I know there are the purists who would say what ever they would but of all the Hendrix covers or I should say tribute bands, Randy Hanson by far exceeds the requirements to be able to just squint a little and see Jimi
I saw Randy Hansen for about 3 songs in 1979, in Dallas, TX. One of those songs songs was "Little Miss Lover" (from Axis: Bold As Love). I was very impressed with the way he duplicated the sounds of the recorded track, and amplified it with the loud excitement of a live concert. I had to leave the gig early to make to work on time.
Thank you very much Randy Hansen Band !
his vocals are haunting as hell...... I'm impressed majorly..... great great great great .... holy sh!!
what you said..........................wb
Unbelievable that he can capture jimis Spirit with his performance
I want to have guitar lessons from him
Everyone and anyone that picks up an electric guitar , no matter what brand , or where it came from or originated ...everyone , absolutely must learn a Jimi Hendrix tune . To myself , it does not really matter which 1 tune a person might chose to play . What does matter , to me , is that , indeed , 1 does in fact , learn to play , or at least try to learn ,the "style" that Jimi played in . He did teach the world how to play an electric guitar . That is my opinion . I do not believe I will change my opinion of this subject matter , any time soon . No , not soon , at all :) peace :)
AMEN AND CHEERS!
We love you Randy!
We love you back, Mr.Gonzo.
@@ufowalter Thanks man! :)
That BAND is in sink .
Everyone has THE VIBE .
Amazing 😮
This man is Hendrix Reborn all over again
Thank you Randy, Jimi would be proud!
He is the best l’ve ever heard
He's good grasshopper but there was only one master
@@stevenshelley9345 THE JIMI HENDRIX!
Sûre guy
He died before I started guitar. I spent 1000's of hours learning. He is the real deal. King of Hendrix
I saw Hendrix in concert three times in my life, the last time was ten days before he died.
In a live performance, Randy out performs the music of the original. Please don't seek my death for saying this, but Randy is so incredibly accurate with his renditions, it's like hearing Jimi again, but without all the ad lib, and all the mistakes. Thanks for the great work. Us children of the 60's grew up with the records and always wanted to hear them duplicated.
Jimi and Randy are two Great stars !
Wow.....gorgeous. Randy is gifted. No doubt about it
Amazing!!! I saw Randy in Philly in 1980 and blew my mind totally!!! He's done Jimi and Janie complete justice!!!
after reading all the comments , im sure about I was thinking. this guy is channeling hendrix. voice , guitar....everything..... an the energy, oh man!!!!!!
The best guitarist AFTER Hendrix...No one comes even close......NO ONE.....Only hendrix could come from the grave to improve somtehing than can be improved....sorry for my bad english
100 % right......Hes a guitar god..
Sooooo beautiful. This band has all the love of the human race that Jimi and a few of his contemporaries had. It's a rare thing. To call these guys a 'tribute band' is a kinda insult - they are so beautiful in their own right. Please keep doing this Randy Hansen band. We love you. xxx
Ufo walter! You rock!
Thank you, Jerry :-)
To me, only two guitar players can do Jimi justice, Eric Johnson and Randy Hansen, but I must lean to Randy because he's a more soulful player.
also the band- drums and bass rock super hard with conviction and power groove- blows away anybody else out there.
When you listen to Beethoven or Mozart, or DeBussy, do you say about the artist playing "oh they're just a clone" of course not. There is the composer, and then the musician to play the composition. Reproducing the original as the composer intended is the greatest tribute. Randy is simply the greatest.
The best Jimi Hendrix tribute band 🙂
Hendrix would be impressed and proud...
so fuckin' good !!!!! tanks randy, sun shines again. I didn't except you bringin you're own thing into it the way you did on it, i love the way you made the whole thing here, great performance !!!!!!
Anyone one who says "clone" is talking of Science Fiction, cold and un-feeling. This "Man" is an Artist, unequaled in his field. He is so full of Soul, Passion and Feeling, he brings me to tears, because he understands how the human heart feels.
Excellent ,man i wish you guy would come to Charleston Sc on your next tour of the states , saw Randy at a club here in the early 80's hope to see him again soon , love how he captures Jimi you guys are Awesome
Excellent. The only performer of Jimi, that is approved by the Hendrix family, here in Seattle. I have seen Randy twice, Seattle and Edmonds. He can even play the guitar with his feet, while the guitar is lying on the ground
efoWalter, as far as i'm concerned, you have brought Jimi back to life, channeled through Randy Hansen, all of you are reincarneted, i just discovered The Randy Hansen Band last night, going through You Tube videos!!! I'am really blown away @ the stage presence , just close your eyes and everyone would think it's Jimi and company again, WOW!! Thank You for this!!!
Amazing!
Randy. Extremely talented. A real musician!
Also let’s not forget about the the drummer & the bad ass drummer UFO Walter ❤️
Hooray :-)
Perfect sound and voice. Bravo, Randy!
Wow that’s unreal props Jimi would’ve loved this and is probably looking down proud
Man oh man. loved the way you brought in 'Lucy in the sky with diamonds', Dear Prudence too. A big hug to you folks from India. Jimi hendrix would have been very proud of you Randy. Stay blessed and keep playing the God's music.
But even before that he even brought in a small snipit of a very cool song by the James gang called “The Bomber” it’s actually a take from a bolero so when you check out The Bomber on the original credits it will also say Part C - Bolero
Hey Ufo...You guys have long since been the ultimate in JIMI covers...I have followed for years and years and years..no one better...five stars aren't enough,so I'm giving upon you my friend...the heavens !!!! Ray
Went to Holland to see them live and it was amazing .
SAW HENDRIX LIVE TWICE.
RANDY DOES JIMI JUSTICE....
Intonation, attack, feel and soul of Jimi!
BRAVO!
WHEW!!!! Randy has absorbed Jimi's spirit in its entirety...all love to you brother
Holy cow, takes a backwards recorded solo and plays it "front ways." No mere imitator, this guy rocks it. This is basically a "studio song" and even Hendrix avoided playing it live.
Hendrix played it about 20 times!! there is 17 live recorded version.
The best one are from Winterland, you have also Vienna that is powerfull, he did it in vancouver too very version.
The New York Rock Festival, Singer Bowl you have it on video but he broke a string when he started the solo... so he did it a couples time find them and enjoy! this is a lot better than Hanson version :P
Samuel Landry I think Jimi played it in Texas too.
Yes that's right 16 Feb 1968 The Experience

2. Fire
3. The Wind Cries Mary

Actually hendrix played this song live all the time..........check out winterland 1968 there are 2 versions on that album that are amazing.
Correct!
can never say enough good things bout the band, wonderful!
I can close my eyes and actually hear Jimi playing! He is a great guitar player and does Hendrix proud.
I can’t get enough of this masterpiece... Thank you for such a wonderful cover!!!
This really is an anazingly good cover of a unique track. I like the Bolero in there and Randy is a superb guitarist and showman. That backwards solo... masterly.
WOW.....i've been playing guitar for over 25 years and absoluteiy LOVE hendrix....this is really scary..jimi has come back to us..thank you God !!!!
Holy Hendrix he sure has mastered it and then some
I have seen him many years ago in Rockhouse Salzburg
it was feeling like
Hendrix playing himself . real unbelivable show that was yessssssssss
Saw Randy at the "Agora" in Cleveland Ohio twice in the early '80s. Awesome!
Real rockmusic!!! Best coverband ever...
Best band on the third stone from the sun!
I actually went to Florida one summer with a buddy to visit his sister almost 50 years ago. Tripped on fresh psilocybin mushrooms and Hendrix records. The whole 'experience'. Never to be repeated (intense but a little too scary). Til now...the memory returned! And this cat is doing it live!!🤘😎👍
