There is another recording of this song on the Live from Memphis album.. As Elvis matured, the deep richness of his voice comes out. It is my absolute favorite recording of this same song.

The most gorgeous man on the planet. That was one gift, the others voice, stage presence, voice, sexy, great dancer, sing any genre of music and make them his own, and sing bass right up to top C and more. He was a genuine person and loved by all who knew him and by those who had never met him. A gift from God, he loved God and now with God. There will never be another to compare to him, it's impossible. Will always love him.

Now you know why they call him the King. Elvis didn't rip off anyone's music, he grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi and Memphis, Tennessee - raised on southern gospel music, rhythm and blues and country music. He was a product of his environment. Check out what BB King said about Elvis. ua-cam.com/video/aznpMRCvK6s/v-deo.html

Because some just don't get it. They see a white guy dressed up in a white suit late seventies not too active anymore and they assume. They don't know his back story, and it's easy to criticize when the person is not around to defend themselves. That's why there is a whole Elvis community of fans who will do it for him...

Connery had presence and swag, but doesn’t hold a candle to Elvis’s charisma! Elvis twitches a shoulder and the women scream and men smile. Watch “Fever” from the Aloha from Hawaii, amazing vocals and rather funny how he can’t help laughing /smiling at the women screaming at the smallest moves. Oh man, that man had it like no other.

Elvis was a phenomenon and I think I can say without overstating the fact that Elvis set the president for for those who followed him...He set the bar so high no one has ever been able to do what Elvis did...And one of the most amazing elements of the man was he never got to big to remember where he came from. Down to earth and gracious to his fans and those who were a part of what made him the tremendous performer he was... The voice alone was mystifying...

You know what, back then they were friends and they exchanged songs and ideas and riffs and whatever else they could without any of the hostility... Pretty much, for years. I heard Little Richard say something about one of his songs one time but in the next sentence he said that Elvis singing his song made his version have a whole new following. I don't think you can find too many people who knew Elvis who would say anything bad about him. Actually you can find a whole lot of the older musicians that really love Elvis. Watch Elvis Presley and the black community. Sadly there are always prejudices, but I believe anybody who reads and listens to Elvis would love him. You do, I do, most people do.

Every entertainer has been influenced by those who went before them. Beethoven was influenced by Mozart, and so on, and so on. Elvis grew up in the South and was influenced by the culture and music around him. He took Rock &Roll and catapulted it into the stratosphere. That is why he is considered the King of R &R. Add his talent, voice, incredible looks, charisma ,
stage presence and you have the uniqueness that is Elvis. Why do you think he has so many impersonators? They all want to be him. Of course, there can be only one Elvis.

He never played to an unsold seat. Better known by his given name than anyone else, his voice has been heard by more people than any other performer's. His motion pictures became box office triumphs on the strength of his name alone. His raw talent, which sprang from America's Southern backwoods, changed the course of popular music and culture. On the day Elvis Presley died--August 17, 1977--there was pandemonium outside his Memphis home and around the world. He was only 42, and to millions he was magic. Now producer David L. Wolper uses his camera to probe the mystique of a superstar in This Is Elvis.

Obviously if Elvis sang it and made it his n kept it n brought light n love into it than(OH WELL IT WAS HIS) just like any other. Elvis always told the truth n saying he never wrote a song!!!!You want to fight talent??? Go ahead...I grew up on this music n Motown.....Does that mean I should have never enjoyed n appreciated these artists??? Some of my money paid their bills n made them bigger....So get over yourselves....

I'm really pleased seeing more young black and white people recognising Elvis. Michael Jackson sang, don't matter if your black or white. Elvis was a one and only, I was a kid in the 60s parents were into him along with other black and white artists of the 50s and 60s. I took a lot of hassle liking Elvis's music by one or two siblings saying all that he took this or that. Elvis knew what got his mojo going musically which is why he was so cool with his outlandish looks and that voice, but his persona is off the planet. Here's to more young dudes discovering the man, the legend that is Elvis Presley.

Hey Polo sweetheart,, so so glad you are still on the Elvis journey, please stay there, ELVIS was a One in a Lifetime, never another and yes he oozes with so much Charisma, all the ladies wanted him and all the men wanted to be him. ELVIS started a revolution that no one can touch to this day, He had it all, the voice of an angel, he sang everything, humor,, charm, charisma and the looks of a Greek God, but he remained so humble till the very end, always caring about his fans and wanted to please each and every one of them. This is why, ELVIS, is still so extremely popular around the world,, we Love this beautiful man, not , just because he looked so good ,, but the Man he was to everyone he came in contact with,, and they will all tell you that even if their back was faced the wall, you could sense a presence like no other, even the men will say that. This was the first time his wife Priscilla saw him perform live, after the concert, she said /Now I Get It., So Loved the world over 45 Yrs later,, we still travel to Graceland, his home in Memphis Tennessee, to pay our respects From counties all over. His house is the second most visited home in the US, second only to the Whitehouse,, loving your Elvis reactions, please react to Elvis singing Walk a mile in my shoes and Just Pretend as well as a beautiful Gospel song Where No One Stands Alone, and you can see a version of that song with his daughter Lisa Marie joining in virtually, she's got a great voice as well. Thanks for the great reaction,. TCB 1935🕺🕺🕺⚡⚡⚡⚡👑👑👑👑👑🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏🙏🎵🎵🎵🎵

This 1968 special was the real Elvis to me! I was 17 by then and been a fan since I was 5 listening with my older brother to his records. Too bad he got "managed" by crazy Col. Parker til he was exhausted in Vegas and needed drugs to keep up with the inhuman schedule. He had so much talent and charisma to begin with, it always does my heart good to see him with his early band mates just doing music to death. And he was naturally funny and kind. Sad to lose him too young to big business music industry types.

I don’t see anything wrong with the actual white jumpsuit Elvis, in fact I find some to be among his sexist looks ever, but it’s the impersonators doing them and him a huge injustice. Johnny Carson said it best, “If life was fair then Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead.” Elvis was such a proponent of being yourself and owning individuality that anyone who spends their life being someone else is not just pathetic but disrespectful to Elvis’s legacy. I have never seen the appeal and wish it could be made illegal.

My mom would say, with my dad sitting right there, that if Elvis pulled up and said get in, she'd get out of the car right there, leave it in the road and not even close the door. Pretty sure my dad believed her too.

People can say what they want about Elvis but he was unique, he was a product of his environment, influenced and touched by the music that was around him. However saying that who on earth sounds like Elvis, looks like Elvis, and has his charisma. There is and was no one like him.

Love that your doing this Presley stuff! He is the best ever known to be the best alto voice ever! I've watched him since Ed Sullivan show! I'm a musician my self. Know one will ever top this man's front man ability! His stage presents was magical. Can't say how much he's still worshiped

Always a ELVIS fan! Especially in a black leather suit. Charisma, sex appeal talent. We liked him up close on stage instead on the silver screen. He came back & we flocked to vegas to see him. Good times.

Re: What was making him sweat so much: In the original TV broadcast, at one point Elvis actually says, "Man, this leather suit is hot...." - Combine the leather with the hot TV lights, and the result is lots of sweat. So your suggestion that the leather was causing the perspiration was 100% correct.
In fact, all the videos you see of Elvis in that black leather suit are from that TV show; he never wore it during any other public performance.

He was such a genuine nice person. To listen to all of the artists he has helped. Dianne Warwick when she had a show he asked her if he could give an autographed picture to anyone bought a ticket to her show.

The more you listen the more you'll find just how awesome he is. Remember there was no auto tune back then, nothing to "fix" the off key notes, which never happened. Todays artists...they all use auto tune so there's no comparison. Also if you want to set the record straight with the haters listen to "Elvis and the black community " 2 parts to this TV here is also a review by DARA STAR(something) called "Why black people disliked Elvis". Great review.
