So good to see an Australian show picked up with the BBC. Such a fantastic show! Makes Aussies Proud.
The mark of a good show is when it can make a scene feel real. And this scene is a prime example.
Gordon doesn’t yell at Lynell, he doesn’t swear at her, and he doesn’t insult her or call her a shitty mother. He’s calm but direct and he lets his tone and body language do all the work. And you walk away from the scene feeling immensely satisfied, because he’s left her feeling completely embarrassed and ashamed of herself. It feels completely natural and completely real.
My favourite moment of the series, which is some going given how brilliant the rest of it is. Superbly observed and acted, just an absolute joy from start to finish.
Catch these two fellows as stakeout cops in another aussie series "No Activity". Absolutely hilarious!
I can't wait until Season 2 is available in the US!! ❤
Can't wait for the second series 😊
“They f*ck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
But they were f*cked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.
Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself.”
― Philip Larkin, High Windows
Also the book "They F*ck You Up: How to Survive Family Life" by Oliver James is a must read if you're considering becoming a parent.
That character is so much like my mom
So your mom is a narcissist
Haven't seen anything but this clip. Is the rest as good as this?
Yes. Absolutely fantastic, great show.
So good - a very good comedy
This one episode was somewhat serious - all the other ones were laugh out loud hilarious
Thanks everyone. I think I have something to watch tonight.
Is that a portrait of the mum in her own house? That's a big red flag.
What is the name of the movie/TVserie? Please 🙏
❤

Sadie.
It’s like my name but it’s spelled differently
like your spelling. it should be spelt not spelled. but hey ho.
@@aethellstan They're both correct.
@@stacejam8914 no they're not. you need to learn grammar. read in context of the sentence.
@@aethellstan Spelled is entirely acceptable in that sentence. Unless they were talking about wheat, spelt and spelled are interchangeable.
@@stacejam8914 depends whether you're english or not.
in england it's spelt. spelled is used in america. as i'm english and speak english spelt is correct form.
if it's an american publication for use solely in america then you can get away with spelled.
if someone said the phrase in england then you would think they were uneducated and not able to express themselves properly.
and no i'm not saying that about the original poster before you say that.

God our accent sucks ass for anything serious... you can just tell we're acting. Nothing feels genuine
Yeah, thats why the show has been such a critical and viewer success intenationally.
