- Three years ago basketball legend Kobe Bryant and entrepreneur Jeff Stibel joined "Squawk on the Street" to announce the launch of their partnership fund, Bryant. They join CNBC again at Post 9 to discuss how the fund has grown.

You typically see athletes commentating behind a sports desk, but not Kobe Bean Bryant. He had a reach for the next chapter in not just sports but in entrepreneurship. Will miss him as a player and as a bigger person that he has become.. mamba forever.

He was going to reach higher levels of success than Oprah, Jay Z, Jordan all sell-outs to the ones running the agenda. Kobe was a sell-out himself. Only difference is he was an independent thinker and could not be manipulated. They had to take him out.
@Bob Anderson all your points are valid. But there are different factors. Jordan came at the right time to be branded where he was the most marketable player in the NBA. Kobe's 2000-2010 was the era where there were top stars with their own shoes, it was more competitive and all of them under the same brand. Kobe invested in Body Armour while playing. At the time of his death his shares were worth so much.
Jordan never invested in Gatorade nor Hanes. He was a rep for them. This one move alone shows how much Kobe had. Also in stocks. Mamba Academy. List goes on. It is unfortunate because he was just getting started so there's no evidence.
