When it comes to interviews how good/bad it was is largely dependent on if you care for the interviewee/interviewer and if you agree w/ the answers. Good and bad questions are more often than not driven by what we would've asked or are curious about. Kobe has a gang of interviews throughout his career. No need to rehash them. The questions are appropriate for where he is now.

Magic Johnson = 3 Mvps, 3 finals MVPs, 5 NBA titles, 9 West conf. titles.
Kobe = 1 mvp, 2 finals MVPs, 5 NBA titles, 7 conf. titles.
And Magic did his in much less time playing.

Eddie Bowles Magic played in a joke Conference during a far weaker era than what Kobe played in. The modern game is leagues better.

Eddie Bowles to be honest , Magic’s great and I know a lot about him due to research and film, but Kobes the greatest .. it’s due to Tenure, overall stats. Bro have you seen Playoff Kobe ? The man that dropped 81 points while bringing a team back for the W. And last but not least ... he holds almost all of the lakers Records for their franchise. Off that alone he’s the greatest laker.

So what he's saying is, he missed shot after shot after shot in Game 7 so that he could make Pau Gasol look that much more important and so that he could allow Artest to look like a hero with an unlikely but timely putback to save him from what could have been one hell of a scrutiny. Got it.

Kobe was very optimistic about how Kaepernick would do in his comeback attempt. Maybe he was thinking Kaep was more like Kobe himself, still working out like a maniac & staying sharp (or even getting better).
