3:23 I've always found it funny that a brilliant SC2 player like Scarlett could come up with the idea that playing without game sounds is a good plan lol
There is one I would add, TLO vs Hyperdub in very early GSL days where TLO gave a masterclass in defensive and psychological nuking, using nukes to pin Hyperdub back then cancelling and rushing forward. And also inadvertently caught a bunch of Hyperdub's vikings returning from a harass...
The parting vs maru self nuke was so insane, that game was a 42 min full map almost mined out war and it ended like that! rofl I'll never forget that game.
If I recall correctly Serral was actually pushed back to his main base due to Inno's nuke spam, actually made me think that maybe you can win as Terran by just nuking enemies into a corner until they can't run away no more.
@@Necroneer I thought that as well until I saw that one game were Scarlett was being nuked into a corner for like 40 minutes and then somehow slipped out and won.
@@RonnocFroop Oh yeah there was also that, my memory is a but shaky so I don't remember all the details but I'd still like to believe that Terrans can squeeze out a win through nuclear warfare.
I like how Maru owns the top spots for both the biggest nuke on an opponent and the biggest self-nuke. In fact, his self-nuke actually killed more army supply than the one on Solar. P.S. He may have another record-breaker with his recent nuke against Classic in GSL.
These nukes wow ... great video .. serral made him nuke himself with that fungal shot .. lol and pigs reaction with that nuke haha my man tells it like it is ... but yeah I love sc2 .. and I love your videos brother keep up good work
What is going on with the self nukes? Is it just so much going on the player blunders or is there something I'm not getting? I don't play Terran and am a real casual player so idk why these self nukes typically happen
It is really baffling, seeing the best players just forget about those giant ground indicators - even in the middle of a fight, the player who's calling the nuke gets that huge red marker on the ground, not just the little dot that the opponent sees. But they are pretty high stress environments. I think a lot of them probably treat nukes as "fire and forget" because ghosts have to sit still for so long that they've trained themselves out of giving them any attention during that time, but those battle nukes are the one situation where you really don't want to do that.
BeastyQT had an epic video where he was wiping the floor with Avilo, destroying him with nukes, and the montage of Avilo's stream with the constant "I can't see the red dot" was just epic.
Yo, question: why are a lot of these clips selff-nukes? Do the players forget the area that they just targeted? These are the top SC players right? For context and disclaimer: Im only a casual SC/SC2 player and the last time I played was around 5 years ago. I just happened to bump into this video in my youtube recommendations.
I never played SC2 before. Is there any indicator when nuclear launched? will enemy notice it? why sometimes enemy move their army into nuke area? (only owner can see the big red indicator? .. and why nuke owner nuked themself?) *please note i never played SC2* just curious..😅 In SC1 can see the red dot but how is in SC2?
There's a red dot and a voice alert, as well as sounds on missile's approach, but sometimes with many nukes going on it's hard to detect the dot and the nuke
man I miss this period 😢 The energy of the shoutcaster and the enthusiasm of the audience was awesome. Why can't we go back to this anymore?! Damn all those fake fps esport like CSGO and Fortnite! Damn greedy Blizzard! And now Starcraft is official dead due to Stormgate, whose success is questionable because the market's dynamic has changed.
I started playing StarCraft in 2023 and I notice that armies seemed to have been a lot more full back in the day, from my experience nowadays it's mostly small scale gorilla warfare with the occasional big fights using more of the basic units. Or do I have the wrong image?
yeah the big round target only appears on the person using the nukes view, or if you'r'e watching a replay (or as a caster) when using 'all views'. For the person who has nuke against, they see a red dot. So when casters switched views and toggled to Solar's view it would have only been a red dot, but those are hard to see on creep. Solar knew where it was tho as he saw the ghost. But he moved his oversteers away from the ghost so lost vision of the ghost which is how messed up, the broodlords couldn't kill the ghost as he lost vision so he lost 1 round of broodlings (which is why it disappeared for a few seconds) before he got the oversteeers back and had another shot to kill the ghost, but by then it was too late. It was still so close tho, the ghost died as the nuke was landing basically, legit down to the second or milisecond. Def the best nuke in sc2 history hehe.
well this did wodners for my self esteem. I have yet to ever nuke my own forces in SC whether it it 1 or 2. Seeing 'professionals' do it to themselves is a nice feeling.
I enjoyed this very much, quite funny, actually I enjoy all your vids. However, we need one of Polt. Polt, Polt, Polt, Polt, Polt, Polt, Polt, Polt! Sorry to be a pain in the butt for this but I think is due! If I could I would do it but I don't have your skills!
I only played single player sc2. Doesn't sc2 have that large marker to signal a nuke, that's very visible? Unlike sc1 that's so hard to find the small dot

esports storyteller might be a pretty smart fella but solar getting hit by the nuke is a petty fart smella
A 13 yo could've thought of that. You have a pretty low bar of what genius is
@@RaphaelManalo 7 months late, smart ass. You wouldn't even thought of that if not by this comment.
now i have become hans zimmer, destroyer of chords.
nah actually i like the new song guy they brought in for this one... goranson?
the only reason the last clip is the best is because of full screen. Solar's reaction with his mouth open on full screen is raw, unfiltered.
i like the suble smirk of maru too
his just like been banged by bbc in the ass 😂
... solar have 5yo kid attitude, he's an adult with "i want my mommy" attitude XD
Yeah.. my man got instant cramp in the nutsack after that one, you can see the pain
Maru smiles twice in this vid: the smirk at the end when he nukes the ever nuke-able Solar, and the embarrassed grin when he nukes himself.
Maru has only ever smiled twice in his life. The smirk at the end when he nukes the nuke-able Solar. And when he embarrassingly nuked himself. 😂
He was going to lose that match anyway. If you look at the supply count. He wasn't embarrassed because it was done on purpose.
That Maru nuke still gets me every time.
Can’t freakin believe it’s been two years.
Excellent metaphor for humans using nukes as this video is like 50/50 just hurting their own army lol
4:42 The Terran Guitar just adds to the successful nuke and reaction

The amount of self nukes calls into question the intelligence and breeding of terran players.
Where'd you study tactics boy? This was clearly used to get rid of units they don't need anymore.
@@leaflotus6726 Except in the case of Maru vs PartinG. :P
