maru's favorite part of sc2 is actually the terran campaign so he lets the zerg take the whole map to recreate the campaign exprience
lmfao, best comment
All in , GSL edition
It’s easy to love hating the zerg
Maru has played 10,000 hours of Zero Hour.
@Blake Crochet the comment implies something more specific
I swear that Maru's strategy is to get so far behind that his opponent has no clue how he still manages to hang on for so long, then have his opponent misread the game in frustration and throw away their entire army.
It’s what ya gotta do sometimes vs Zerg
yeahHehe
Has nothing to do with terran having full control in lategame as long as you can hang on till lategame by a thread cuz you play tier1 versus zerg every game you're doing so awful and you win versus zerfs lategame compos?
He's slow-rolling his opponent; stretching his starting resources so much that when they start running out and are forced to expand into his defensive zones he can draw out that fight until they're out, and he's barely nót because he trades efficiently all game long.
@Mohamed Omari sure thing buddy whatever helps you sleep at night
13:21 "all that technology & they couldn't put wheels on the pylons" Lmao, now that's comedy
I loved that lol, the game was a bit boring but the commentary was really funny
he should yell it while the nuke falls down
If nothing else, I'm amused how Protoss _still_ can't repair their own mech! Even Terrans can repair Protoss mech!
that shit was hilarious lol
protoss dont have technology lmao ppl playing the game for years and still cant understand a **** whats going on
14:19
SCV: Let’s just sneak away. The Zerg is too busy breaking the rock.
2 second later
SCV: Oh shxt they come
lol
I saw that earlier too
The stages of ZvT endgame
Base denial
Base grief
base acceptance
such a good joke
You forgot
Base anger
Base bargaining
Solar: *destroys most of marus army with banes*
Maru: "dayum bro that's pretty inefficient"
Corruptors: *win a fight against vikings*
Also corruptors: now what?
Look at that single hero liberator in the back that killed like 7 infestors.
If the corruptors got him I think the thors would have gotten neuraled to death.
@@aziouss2863 it's amazing how, after an entire game of playing as perfectly as you can, everything hinges on split second decisions/attention at the very end of the game
Now go piss all over the base 😁
@@aziouss2863 Yeah, He was too focused on killing the vikings. Both the Liberator in the back and the line in the front completely decimated his infestors, ones that were supposed to neural the thors and win the fight.
@@screwed8182 It must be so hard to micro that kind of fight.
I struggle in Company of heroes 2 with like 7 squads and 3 tanks.
I know that game had other mechanics that make it hard but dam starcraft requires insane micro.
20:25 That one hellbat was mvp, he took most of the brood aggro and kept them off the thors
lmao I didn't notice that. Medivacs keeping man alive for days as well.
This is just insanely difficult to control such an army consisting of Thors, tanks, libs, vikings and ghost. Imagine being so confident in the late game that you actually are looking forward to like maru. He is just the KING of Lategame.
He also won game 2 with a proxy rax opening absolute madman
It's absurd, I have troubles mixing just a couple together efficiently...
@@hammurabii.3173 Unfortunately, Rogue just skipped all that and rolled with Roach Ravager over Maru in the GSL final.
"The robots have beaten the Kaiju" lol
Glad to see you back!
Sorry, was gone for a while ;)
absolutely :)
My zerg-hating heart is filled with joy and delight. Maru for president!
Zerg is the worst. And I don't even play this game.
No way Artosis and Tasteless are back?! Oh my god you two are the best duo I've ever seen cast anything in my life. I love it!!! Please never break up and keep casting together forever!
He returns! Happy you're back SC2HL. What a rock-solid game from Maru, I thought he was down and out in the beginning.
This is actually amazing to watch, how do they possibly keep track of all this? These players are unreal.
whenever I see Maru vs Solar, my brain goes where is da NUKE
Listening to Artosis cast suddenly feels very different after subscribing to Artosis TV clips channel
That channel actually isn't his, but lmao, so true! 😂😂😂
I know right? having seen all those clips where he gets mad, seeing him here so calm. I understand he has to be professional here and all, but it sure looks awkard a bit
13:13 Actually in the Alpha they did have a moving protoss building called the phase cannon which was a prototype of the photon cannon. It was removed because during testing it was found to be unfair and unbalanced because they could push up with protoss units for a nearly unstoppable push. The moving defense idea however was then given to the zerg defense structures.
Lol some of the funniest and most enjoyable casters I've had the pleasure of listening to in an SC2 match
Maru's Bizaare Adventure: Defense is Unbreakable
Starcraft bizzare adventure: terran is overpowered.
First time I've ever seen this game in motion. They really got the zergling cockroach movement down perfectly. Back when I was in college, I lived in a slumlord apartment that had roaches and they moved in groups just like that.
lol that is so gross
Lol
@@ladistar Not so gross
13:00 "I thought it was a good game design, ha ha" - LMAO
Solar Lost at the end just because he feed all his Infestor to 1.... Just 1 Liberator lmao
Watching pros like this confirms my beliefs of never playing ranked SC2 games again
the lone firebat at the end is the real MVP...
I was kinda hoping that the nuke would connect. Solar's reaction from the previous game was priceless XD
I remember this game. Tastosis were on point about Solar being obstinate depriving Maru that 2nd Quadrant. Had he went straight to Maru's production, he could have bagged this game
Enjoyed watching. Long time fan - of the game and these 2 commentators. THanks for the continued sharing of competitive games :)
10:56 this was a good job by Tasteless to stop himself from saying "shitload" or whatever made him pause for a second there LOL
very decent demonstration of the most underrated style of strategy: defensive
in this case, defensive control
i prefer creeping frontline myself; slowly but steadily progressing towards the enemy by putting defensive line after defensive line to ensure he can never get it back
@20:35 that liberator that came in from the back changed the tide of battle
our favorite casters :D
It's my first time ever watching this game but damn looks so stressful and intense
This game is so fun to watch lol. I used to play SC1/Broodwar, and played SC2 a little bit, but after watching the pros play this game, I realized that it would take sooooo long to be any good at this game. I settled for watching the pros play which is just as entertaining, and so much more fun!
Poor Solar I feel like he's always so close to winning a series vs maru 🤣
I have no idea what I just watched, but it was very entertaining
Wheels on the pylons. Protoss hasn't even invented DOOR technology yet, wheels is getting way ahead of themselves
Best commentary duo in any game lol
Every time I see a nuke I worry about solar not moving his army...
Would be so satisfying if he didnt
I love how the other announcer slightly sounds like rick haha
Happy to see these uploads again! :)
The thing about marus game play to me is that I feel like he is thinking about this in all numbers like, he can go even trade for trade all game vs protoss or zerg and that actually means he is coming out on top in the end late game. He knows that if he can just hold off his opponent even all game he knows he can win the late game. I feel their alot that goes into that with his incredible micro plays awareness and everything else in motion. However Maru just feels like a chess player where he knows ALL the moves and he is just herding you into a certain position all game. Sorry for the long post think of potatoes! :)
Pylons are already floating.. if an archon just leaned on it~...
XD Never have I ever thought so hard in my life. Mind = Blown XD
Solar messed up so hard in the last fight with his infestors, they are too far behind his army, no good fungals and no neural parasites on the thors, then 1 liberator flies in, sieges over them and snipes all of them, lmfao.
But who asked
Solar's glasses is comically large, I could identify him from the thumbnail
Glasses are*
@@snowdrop9810 Thank you
They aren't that big are they? Lol.
Also on low quality settings his glasses are so far down his nose that it blurs his eyes into the frame and then it looks like he just straight up doesn't have eyes. Kinda creepy
That's impressive since he's not on the thumbnail
@@mattb6646 You're also right.
What I meant was when I hovered my pointer on top of the thumbnail, I could see Maru, TvZ, and glasses.
Imagine if all SC2 games are like Cure VS Dream (the match after this one), there'll be no channels like SC2HL
Say smart stuff to be remembered for every time a nuke is launched against a zerg army... like "It would take a really big mistake from a zerg for the nuke to land"? ;)
Gosh I wish that game was a Tastosis cast lol.
I liked the broadcasters keep talking about nukes when there is actually no nuke in the big engagement
This was so good live that I need to rewatch it as a SC2HL
I've seen this video so many times but Maru is still so incredible
Maru is the best defensive player on the planet
the portable buildings moving from nukes was good banter
Playing the most overpowered race in the game, Solar hesitated too much.
As soon as he reached max supply cap with Broodlord/Infestor comp and a handful of corruptors, he could've literally just A-move and win the game. At that point Terran has literally nothing left to stop such powerful composition.
Wouldn’t the Viking Thor comp hard counter that pretty well?
12:20 "BUT THAT TANK LIVE!" HAHAHAHAHA
Good to see Maru's wrist has gotten better.
Haven't watched starcraft in 5 years. Now I remember why.
Hats off to king maru. This was a masterclass
Poor Solar. Put into a group with 2 terrans and the fourth race, it's like everyone in code S wanted to relive that nuke.
The Robots have beaten the kaijus!
Love this channel!
Im a little burnt out on SC2... but Tasteless and Artosis casting will always win me over. I think out of anyone in SC2 even players these two are the GOATs
I have no idea what's happening, but i am so invested!
Maru literally out here playing All In
This game is insane
I know I cant even begin to compare to these players, but that didn't stop me from internally screaming at Solar "GO TAKE OUT MARU'S PRODUCTION!" the entire time he was just sitting there losing units trying to poke in on Maru's army.
OMG Maru actually won that. sheeeeeeeesh
wow! An accountant is fighting this game :))))
17:26 epic AoM reference
13:00 he kinda laughed like Brooke from Magic Mike
Maru is amazing.
Solar just didn't do anything special and got right into it with maru. if he would have e.g. made a drop into the main and sent a second wave right after, the game would have ended differently. as an example you should remember serral or dark, they would have definitely won in those situations. zerg is just very strong in later game
people should watch drg vs ty,it happened recently at gsl, drg's nydus usage was godlike, he showed what zerg is capable of if not just attacking the same route over and over again expecting different results
kind of weird he has probably the best zvt but not so much in zvz or zvp
Maru constantly scan the map for Zerg army, so its not that easy to sneak off a Nydus worm under him. And if you dont do it properly, Maru will attack part of your army, AND push the rest to end the game.
Don´t know, Maru is the best at playing defensively, I haven´t seen him lose when he plays this style
Solar did much better than last time. At least he did not lose too much units to a single Nuke.
8:00 - the definition of 50%, the American way.
What more can you ask of Solar? No it's a serious question. Solar played as perfect a game as one could expect of him.
Eh? You really think so? Solar wiped two substantial armies of Maru and had a huge supply and mineral lead at several points in the game. If Solar had gone all-in earlier, he had a pretty substantial chance of winning the game right then and there.
His decision to expand to more bases and slow down the game meant that a huge amount of his supply ended up tied up in drones rather than army, and Maru had a chance recover from difficult positions, to drag the game out and take advantageous trades with siege tanks and thors against Solar's relatively smaller army supply.
A big part of playing Zerg is knowing when to all-in and when to play macro and I think Solar chose wrongly in this instance.
That's what I always do. If zerg makes a million corruptors, I'll just make a bunch of thors and hellbats and now whatcha gonna do?
damn bruh i was rooting for the swarm. one of the most captivating games ive seen tho
Expecting another nuke to Solar lmao
Solar maybe should’ve tried taking out the top right infrastructure that was completely undefended
Maru had sensor towers and those constant scans. There’s no way Solar could sneak into the top right.
It was much more important to deny the last mineral patches.
I would love a spell that turns zerg static defence into static defence
Maru is my video game spirit animal. I don't know how to attack and am way to defensive minded so I basically just make the other person lose the will to live then counter attack
I think is very clear when the zerg player owns most of the map and needs spells in order to actually have an advantage during a fight vs mostly lower tier units, terran is broken as F. By the way they can heal-repair instantly to further neglect the small damage the zerg can make while taking tons just to engage.
Terran can always wait for the tank to hit something before even deciding if engage or not...
Lol try to Macro Terran in this situation. Terran won because Maru was playing, and that is the only reason why.
Really thought Solar was going to make it out since he only had one matchup to practice for
Wow what a match!
Defense the ultimate offense.
Oh I watched this live.
maru will never fall off
Starcraft is so hard to play but I like it. I also like command and conquer
I wanna pick it back up but I am absolutely terrified from watching matches likes this 🤣
It was strange to watch a match with my name being said all the time. (Made my nickname years before playing Starcraft. Also, never knew there was a player named Solar).
The heroes of the day is those 3 liberators that save the final battle. Without them, thors could have been eliminated and Maru would have lost the game
Why no one ever uses bunkers and firebats, one bunker for 100 has 350 health, increases the range of any unit in it, a stimmed marine/firebat with 1 health can still do a lot of damage inside a bunker, especially against zerglinks. it's good for both defense and offense.
So incredible game wow
War of Attrition
When you're so early you have to watch in 720p 😢
@Olek Ś. No, but higher res is better to a point
Amazing
cmon solar! Lets get it
ROBOTS ARE BEATING THE KAIJUS. xdxd
Minute 27 is removed and it was very funny sadge
20:32 is where game starts. You're welcome
Sc2 is balanced.
bu çekik çocukların başka işi yok mu abi hayatlar bilg ve bilg oyunları olmuş
I'm new to this game. Just wondering why the Zerg lost, it looked like they're winning the last combat?
The units they had left were Air to Air units. He had nothing to kill the thors wich can shoot land and air units effectively.
