I used to have demo version of this game with only this stage and with less activities commandos can perform like handcuffed and control them or take their uniforms. I spent 6-7 months on just this stage and it was fun killing each and every men without triggering alarm, clearing out outer areas, freeing spy, getting his uniform from top, capturing tank and in the end capturing Von below. When I completed it felt like well inexpressible, it was hard as English wasn't my first tongue but it was fun
I wanted to see a video of this game for the nostalgia, I would have watched any one no matter the length. This was the first one that youtube gave me, and you did it amazing. I did this map several times and it always took me hours. One of the best games I ever played. The demo also had this mission, and I think if you do the mission the traditional way that it's a really good difficult mission when being average skilled. One of the bests in the game.
this guy is so professional that he doesn't commit any unnecessary killing. he uses undefeatable panzer like he is driving on city's traffic. no panzer shot, no smash with panzer.

I just finished this one today :) My approach very different, maybe on the brute side, I went into the compound on the eastern gate, Tiny climbing the wall, slitting throats at the gates (didn't think that I could just run them with tank later) around the tank and then moving to northwest forest and jail, cleared basically everything except from "castle", entered the tank and sounded the alarm just so I finish even the ones in garissons :)
I had this game but it was a demo that's comes with the tombraider chronicles for my old pc with windows 98 the true is what i loved(fun more)this game more than the tombraider and how i play this game more that becomes a challange that time when i remeber that i capture every soldier in the game except the troop with three soldiers and the soldiers what's are in up the roof and then joins all captured soldiers and crush them with the tank.

Man this mission was tricky. I wonder why they did this level so big. 2/3 of it you don't even need to use. Btw thanks for doing these videos. I've been enjoying the series a lot.

If you download the demo of the game you'll find that you don't have the ability to capture soldiers and use them to distract other ones. You also couldn't steal enemy uniforms from people, you had to get them the ones that were hanging up.
This mission was as far as I got as a kid back in the day when this came out. Couldn't finish it no matter what unless I used some cheats... For me Commandos 2 was significantly easier or at least not as daunting.
Strange thing that the controlled german can talk to an officer keeping him distracted, but in my game he can only talk to soldiers and not to officers.
Well this mission was pretty unfruitful. The commandos may have prevented the conspiracy from being unraveled but Stuaffenburg and his allies still failed to assassinate Hitler.
Reminds me of that mission to spare a bridge for bloody Operation Market Garden in the vanilla game. Even moreso since said bridge was later blown up in return so to stop the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge, thus rendering the protection of the bridge sorta moot.

After what seems like 50 tries I cannot pull off the sniper shots at the gate. I put the sniper exactly where you did, hit the decoy from the same place, and at the same time where the outside patrols are. I shoot (or try to shoot) the guards in the same order. As soon as I shoot the 2nd one, the alarm goes off, Nazis sprint out of the guard booth and gun down my sniper. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Finally figured it out. The guard that patrols quickly back and forth in front of the gate has to be exactly in the middle of the road when Tiny hits the decoy. If he's too close to the guard booth, the guard next to him sees it when he gets sniped. If he's to far away, then he sees it when the guard furthest away from the sniper gets shot.
Can someone help? I did everything that was necessary but I cannot put all the men (including the Colonel) into the Panzer to escape. One man cannot enter. How is that possible? Thanks.

This version where you can actually capture enemy soldiers is way easier than when I first played it w/o this feature.
I think all version of call of duty has this tactic. Behind the enemy didn’t have that feature.

Excellent my pakistani game i played there at Lahore in my cousin's house on their computer, bringing me back the memories.
As a kid I had a game demo disc from a magazine and this level was on it, suffice to say I never advanced beyond killing 4 soldiers.
And here I was stupidly letting the spy administer lethal injections almost all the way.

It was - played this level on a PC gamer mag demo CD for a year before I got hold of the full game

Just to puzzle you. The train station mission had large map too, the upper half was useless.
