The Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable is one of the best Windows tablets you can buy right now. It offers a fantastic performance due to Intel Tiger Lake processors, a decent 12-inch screen, and a high-end built quality. I love the ThinkPad keyboard in particular and the included pen is pretty good too.
What do you think of the Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable as an alternative to the Surface Pro 7?

Lenovo preceded Microsoft’s surface pro lineup making 11 gen processors windows tablets with a pretty powerful igpu, for me Lenovo is a step forward.
great review! if you want to add some content, please try running Autocad or Rhino with Grasshopper, there's no review of the X12 doing that
This is currently the last Windows tablet with a 16:9 screen. You can miss me with it being outdated and 3:2 is the new "standard", but I always prefer to have taller screen over wider screen when using tablet in Portrait mode.
This is basically a "Surface" made by Lenovo. Great review as always!
I don't understand Lenovo doing a tablet like this one when they have computers that are ALMOST the same. I don't think this is a wise idea, but they know best ofc.
Thanks for this excellent review! Can I ask , at 1:55 where you show your face (not the bit that follows that is only scenery), is that the front facing 5MP or the rear 8MP camera? If it's the front, then wow! for a Windows tablet! The 5MP camera on the Duet 7i isn't nearly so good.

The ThinkPad keyboard has always been amazing to me I had a Dell with my first computer and then I got a ThinkPad T430 and the keyboard was so much better I felt like the Dell was holding my typing speed back but that's just me
I'm looking for a tab or thin laptop mainly for work purposes. Do you think that this Tab could replace the need for having a business laptop?
I own an X12 personally, and I wish my company would issue these instead of the HP 13" convertible that I have. The Only drawback, you're going to need USB-C dongles. There is no USB-A or native HDMI port on this thing, which my work HP has. However, I still have a full suite of dongles tagging along with the HP because I often give presentations on VGA projectors and need more than one USB-A device at a time.
Looks like your Apple Pencil clung onto the X12 at the end 😅 I think the touchscreen failure should affect the review, I've read comments from several people who had similar problems, reliability is a valid concern for a $1500 device, even if the repair is covered by warranty it's a potentially hours of hassle on top of weeks of waiting.

Can you use keyboard when it is detached? What I mean is there a radio remote connection between keyboard and Pad? My main goal right now is to find laptop with detachable keyboard which works when it is detached. You may ask why... And this is because of back and neck posture. When I put my laptop high enough I can sit strait and not bow but I have to have a separate radio keyboard with mouse to work because it is too high for my hands position. So I want to get rid of separate keyboard with laptop with detachable keyboard.
It's a crying shame Microsoft refuses to share their surface connect and keyboard docking system with 3rd parties. I'd imagine it costs an arm and a leg to replace that keyboard.

I use acer switch7 to clip studio, blender, etc., this is an interesting product.Faster than mx150.
I was interested in the switch 7 when it came out. It was a beast. But bad reviews turned me off. Is it still working? Over heating, throttling, battery, were big issues.

You can download Whatsapp in the Microsoft Store and Office works great but you need to buy or subscribe to it of course.

Is there anyone that still wants a Windows tablet? I suppose if you just use it as a laptop it will be okay but then why bother?
If you are predominantly after a tablet then the iPad Pro would be a far better choice, with better performance, 120Hz, better battery, better cameras, far more tablet apps, nicer speakers, pen support is greater on the iPad, higher resolution, miniLED, etc.
There is small portion of people like me who want a full Office desktop features that only comes in Windows or macOS, but also want a tablet that can be use anywhere for working real office things without keyboard hanging on its back (referring those 360 laptops). Windows tablet is an answer. Right now i use cheap Duet 3i to work but as soon as my business grow bigger, i will get that shiny Duet 7i or even ThinkPad X12 (Microsoft doesn't bring those shiny surface to Indonesia, yet).

@@thewonderofyou1 Not really an issue, mainly trolls hating on Apple as they usually do! I have not noticed on mine but my Galaxy Book Flex has def got blooming and I think Samsung have reverted back to OLED with their Galaxy Book Pro due to blooming. They have also stopped producvtion of QLED TVs and now launching a better version Neo QLED. So, if you want to see real blooming try Samsung QLED! Of course, most YT channels rely on Samsung so when that took off no one mentioned it!

This morning I just bought an lg CX OLED down to £1567.. No blooming there.. I'm typing this on my old iPad but won't buy another until they use oled... I edit my videos on iPad.. Then watch on my 4k oled Samsung Chromebook at 16.9
Apple has a great chip.. Samsung has the best screens
And guess what... For the TV and my 4k oled Chromebook the cost is less than the highest tier iPad 12.9...
@@thewonderofyou1 I am pointing out that miniLED tech has blooming on black background at full brightness and for most of us we will never see it! It is not n Apple thing, it is the tech. You choose OLED, cool, but that has PWM as well, poor contrast and blacks under sunlight, much lower max brightness, very inefficient on a white screen, organic so dies quicker than LED, has burn-in if you are not careful, etc. Each has downsides and you choose what you choose. I also have the Galaxy Chromebook 4K and it is the best display I heve ever used, much better than the disappointing one on the Galaxy Book Pro 15, so I do appreciate OLED and Samsung; cheers!
I'd rather have USB A port than type c ports on a windows tablet. Wifi and Bluetooth connection are notoriously bad on windows tablet, without plug and play dongles. And without more usb a ports, it's just "why bother".
What? They work fine on Lenovos and Surfaces, have been fine for years.
You need to fix your WiFi.
