To add onto the part where you two discuss how to make meal prep fun, something I like to do is play some music or let a tv show run in the background as I prep. If I'm overstimulated by noises, then I set a timer (usually 10 minutes) and that sense of urgency to beat the clock makes the prep time challenging in a fun way. Some rules that I abide by when I set the timer: 1) I leave my phone in my room (or somewhere close-by yet out of sight) 2) Never sit down UNLESS there is nothing for me to do in the kitchen besides wait for something to finish baking/boiling/mix/ect. During that waiting time, I allow myself to relax and get distracted with my phone (tv, ect), but when the timer goes off, it tells my brain "alright, break times over, time to get back into chef-mode" and I'll (begrudgingly) detach from the distraction and get back in the kitchen.
