Thorough tutorial. Two Issues with my Garmin Instinct Solar. 1. My laptop recognizes both my Garmin Nuvi products and my Nikon camera, it will not recognize my Instinct. I worked with Garmin support but no solution including watch replacement. 2. My Instinct came configured as I would have programmed it except I would like to see my heart rate both in and not in an activity.

For the hotkeys, is it possible to make them automatically start a certain type of workout? For Triathlon that would be so helpful to have three hot keys set up to track open water swim, bike, then run.
How would you compare this watch to their more mainstream watches that have IQ? I own a Vivoactive 3 Music LTE & am really enjoying the Garmin wearable life so far. I do wonder if I were to make the Instinct my next Garmin watch would I be missing a lot by not having IQ. I see the Instinct does not do colour screen or touch but does have even longer battery life & looks like it can withstand the outdoors very well.
Question: when I turn off the Battery Saver mode, what power mode does the watch enter then?

They say 14 days. I recharged mine after about 10, but it didn't need it. Now, I plug it in to the PC every night to sync it, and that also seems to give it enough charge to stay full. It's been several weeks, and it always shows as fully charged.

Just unboxed my Instinct and the watch is stuck in language selection. I turn it off, and back on, only language selection is available... any chance you have a video of now to fix this issue?
It does not look like the dude is responding to the questions, that is messed up. I am having the same issue with my watch that I received today and it is really beginning to piss me off! I mailed back a Etrex for the same issues last year , At first I had it on English now its stuck on German the last language on earth I would want to speak or read.
What's the difference between 24 hour time and Military?
The only difference I noticed was 24hr time has the colon between hours and minutes; military doesn't.
I need to know how to reset the date on my garmin instinct watch
Just received watch today and I am doing my best to change language as it was on English now stuck in German and my display is not like yours. If I don't change it by tonight its going back in the mail tomorrow. I should have got the Garmin 2 .. Live and learn and I am not technologically challenged but I have little patients for expensive shit that has crap for instructions..

Can you change the background to a photo or something
Unfortunately you can't on the Instinct.
If you are going to sync with GPS, you will want to be wherever you can get a GPS signal, a basement is not a good choice, as example,.
There's no sleep tracker?
Yes, there is but all of this is only visible through Garmin connect either in a browser or on your phone.
My Fitbit Ionic died....and not a minute too soon. I can't begin to tell you how bad the software is. Anyhow, this is priceless. Thanks.
