Minor correction. You have to press and HOLD the menu button before you can make the changes. Simply pressing the menu button will not suffice. Overall, another great video. Thanks.

Something I’ve learnt with the instinct solar is you cannot change and customise the watch face if you’ve set it to power saving mode. It lets you view the various face, but doesn’t say ‘Apply’ if you select one, so when you exit the power saving default watch face still shows. Hope that helps someone!

Thanks for the video. 2 quick questions. When setting up the data fields(the circle one) there is an option that looks like 3 dash -circle ish -and below the #50. What is this ?

Can you install other watch faces? Aside from the ones that are pre installed.
At this time no you can’t download additional screens. You only have the option of the delivered screens from Garmin.
Hi! I hope you can help me. I have an Instinct solar Camo. However, I could not set the watch face to display the full number of steps to the lower right most when it is beside the day date in the lowest row of the watch face. My watch face is set as follows. Round window displays the Heart Rate, to its left is the Battery and #days. Below is is the Solar Intensity. Third Row is the Time....and the last row is the Day/Date and on its right is the 2 feet icon and number plus K (e.g 2K). Could you kindly show me how to set this to show full number of steps?
How can I change the background of the widget?
I’m unable to determine what data some of the options are providing; not all of the symbols are obvious.

How do i change the background color of the watch face from white to black?
It it just a watch face option. . . if you go thru all of them you will see it will give you the option of the different background color. Hope that helps, but if you still have issues let me know.

How do you delete one of the data bases on the watch face? Like if I only want the date and battery life?
You have to keep cycling thru the data fields until you see a blank value. Note some fields you can leave blank. . . some require a value.
Can you change to 24 hour time?

Is there a battery percentage display?
As of today, not on the original Instinct like I have. I think the new Solar version does show % of battery life and days till battery will die. Both nice features I wish the original Instinct had. :(

Your previous video “finding my phone”, didn’t work. Could it be, because I have an iPhone?
I have an iPhone 7, works fine for me. Make sure you are connected to the phone. You also might want to try having Garmin Connect at least open and running in the background.
That is a pain.
@Jimmy T It is sort of screwed up. It is difficult enough constantly clearing apps running in the background to preserve battery life, now another issue.
Can I answer my phone or text messages on my watch? If so how? Text messages aren't showing up on my watch
I can't speak for Android phones but for iPhone, you can answer a phone call (but it acts as a Bluetooth remote, meaning it answers the call . . . but you would need your phone in order to be able to speak to the caller as the Instinct does not have a built in microphone). For iPhone you can read text but you can't respond from the watch. If texts aren't showing up make sure you have the phone connected and make sure you have text notifications on from your phone as the watch just mirrors your phone notifications. Hey I just noticed that there is a difference in the available watch faces for the instinct and the instinct solar version. Please make a video on all the available watch faces of the Instinct Solar Version
I like analog time. The instinct analog face sucks big time. One downside to garmin instinct.
I will admit the analog face is super hideous
