I may have told you this before, if I have I apologize. I have a vintage bottle of the original L’Interdit that was created for Audrey Hepburn in 1957. It took me years to find it. I bought it because it was one of Freddie Mercury’s favorite fragrances. It’s a very complex and interesting fragrance. It has a lot of notes in it. Of course, I’m sure I’m not getting the full effect from such a vintage bottle of fragrance. The one I have even still had the box. I keep it in a cool, dark area of a cupboard to preserve it, but I love to pull it out and smell it. I imagine Audrey Hepburn wearing it, as well as Freddie Mercury. Both equally fabulous, in different ways! 😍

It’s a lot more complex than the new version, and has many more notes. Of course, the bottle I have was already over 60 years old when I got it, so I’m sure some of the notes have dissipated and some have probably changed.
Here are the notes as listed on Fragrantica:
L’Interdit 1957:
Top Notes: Aldehydes, Strawberry, Spices, Peach, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange
Middle Notes: Iris, Violet, Narcissus, Otis Root, Rose, Ylang-Ylang, Lily of the Valley, Jasmine
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Amber, Musk, Benzoin, Tonka Bean, Vetiver
L’Interdit EDP 2018:
Top Notes: Pear, Bergamot
Middle Notes: Tuberose, Orange Blossom, Jasmine Sambac
Base Notes: Patchouli, Vanilla, American, Vetiver
So they are quite different. I don’t own a bottle of the current version, but I have had samples. I don’t get aldehydes or rose at all when smelling the vintage version.

I prefer the Ultime version, the chocolate note really sold it for me, i know some people say they are so similar but I disagree.. i think 2 note changes can make a big difference in people’s chemistry when spraying. Its very hard for me to like a perfume so for me to like THIS is big.. i have a picky nose when it comes to scents. If youre like me where you find you get sick of smells easily, you dont want anything heavy heavy like a clubbing scent like black opium or versace crystal noir.. this is a good pick where it stays close to the body but can also project a bit but not invade your space. This is also good to layer with either a cocoa body lotion or just on its own. The original for some reason smells like hypnotic poison so its too similar for me to buy but this was different enough that it made me keep sniffing.
I tried the Rouge Ultime and people thought it smelt like YSL Opium on me.
I loved Rouge perfume… even after 7 days … my dress still smells… very good stay

Rouge Ultime smells really nice and yummy! I like that chocolate note! So far the intense is my favorite. But this last version is quite interesting!

Blind bought the edp and the edt, I wear the edt constantly! It does not have the jasmine that the edp has, so I know why I keep reaching for it. Did not care for the rouge. Can’t wait to try the ultime!

I don’t know but i don’t stell and green notes in the interdits. Because I hate green notes or Green perfumes.

Hi lovely! I thoroughly enjoyed the video however have had bad experiences with buying perfumes online and i was wondering if you could help!! (Sorry this is very long)
Sometimes i hear wonderful new about a certain popular perfume aind i dont end up liking the fragrance one i have it, and i can be susceptible to feeling nauseaus if i find it too sickly and sweet (orangy scents and sometimes strong sweet florals) but im also not fond heavy leathery scents either. (Im so terribly picky i know) and i find i get a little overstumulated as have adhd and it can be quite overwhelming if the smell is too much.
A perfume/spray i have used for a while now and do like is Nude by rhianna fragrance mist, and as much as i will stick by it forever, i am looking for a little change. I was looking at some other brands to see if they had anything i may like and was wondering if you had any recommendations for me based off of my issues 😭 again im so sorry that this is so complicated i just really was looking for a fresh scent with maybe berries, vanilla or pear and i trust your judgement 💛 (im very fond of pear or maybe apple-ish scents)

I tried this out and thought it was a more subdued version of the original rouge. I own the OG EDP, Intense, and Rouge. LOVE THEM ALL! Won’t be buying the rouge ultime, not my cup of tea.
Do you think the intense is sexy? Not too mature bur a date night perfume? Better than rouge?
@@Emma.Ari123 oh yeah, L’Interdit Intense in the black bottle is a very sexy date night/night out fragrance for sure. I think it’s quite modern scent, especially with that warm sesame note so beautifully blended without it smelling like actual food. I have worn L’Interdit Rouge is gorgeous, too. It all depends on what you’re most drawn to and in the mood for.
