Something movie creators should know: Trying to be hip with the kids is just a waste, most kids don't go to movies to see puns about Netflix and their social media apps, they go there to see a story that is close to perfect. *Stop trying to be hip, just make good stories*
Simon Cowell’s character model bothers me so much. They tried to make it look like him by adding detail, but the other character designs are so basic and overly cartoonish that he just doesn’t fit the animation style. It looks like he belongs in a different movie.
Ahhhh THAT’S what’s been bugging me! Yeah something always kinda- irked me about her design, but I could never put my finger on what that was exactly. And now I know what it is. Thank you.
@@e.d.5766 according to quora one of the people that worked on Toy story 1 released November 1995 said they got involved with the project in February 1991 and they think the movie took about 5 years to complete.
Although, from my understanding, the dabbing could have been easily removed for other poses in storyboarding or the earlier stages of animation. To me, it seems that there's just a lot of ignorance in this generation of business executives and project management.
There's no shame in pirating a movie that refuses to take your money to begin with. Plus, you can always buy it later, piracy literally makes no difference.
if you have been shown but can't buy it or get it free leagally, piracy is 100% ok. they temped you, they decieved you, And worst of all, they Betrayed you. they diserved to be pirated.
"Wait is scoob there in real life?!" "Yes its really scoob" Let us not forget that Wizards of Waverly Place had bloopers after episodes where they showed kids that the magic wasn't real, and it was an excellent way of tearing off that bandaid without any pain at all.
Or Magic School Bus episodes ending with a segment that clarifies some of the science while reinforcing that the magic is a creative liberty to demonstrate the science.
@@jbcatz5 I always liked those end segments. I remember how a couple of segments (especially those involving the human body) flat out said that they couldn’t go into more detail or else they wouldn’t be allowed to have their TV-G rating essentially breaking the fourth wall.
not to be that one kid i’m 16 actually but it’s kinda like fortnite where they make some characters look like super realistic but then the others have huge eyes and very cartoony faces
At least Marvel took 1 decades to build up the Cinematic Universe with compelling stories and character development. Nonetheless, people always complained that Marvel is all a out "fun and games" and "it's just for kids" whereas the first phase of MCU was dark and mature, and it's distributed by Paramount, not Disney. The term "Cinematic Universe" made other movie directors take "inspiration" to build up their own but it failed (especially DCEU). Not gonna blame Marvel for that, but the shared universe already existed way before Marvel did it. The "Universal Classic Monsters" (UCM) invented the term and it's very successful. (Ironically, the Dark Universe, the revival of the UCM universe, failed to capture the essence of the classic after the failures of _The Mummy_ remake but later revamped for _Invisible Man_ successfully). The only successful Cinematic Universe is the "Monsterverse" (Godzilla and King Kong universe).
I think it’s also that they replaced almost all the main cast just so they could “bring in a bigger audience” and ends up enraging people and doing the opposite.
If the company won't provide legal access to your country, piracy is A-OK in my book. It's absurd that we still have to deal with region-locking in our modern, global society.
In my view, there are two scenarios of acceptable piracy: No longer distributed, mostly old video games; and unable to be watched die to region locking Also moral reasons
There is still no Disney + in my country and won't be for couple of years ( even if platform and most of the shows are available with my native dub/description. I wouldn't mind watching those movies in og version and without any dub. But I have no option...
I'm gonna bring this up every time someone tells me that direct-to-stream is the future. Sure, it's future, when they *tear down the region-lock walls.*
Hearing Ken Jeong during that Scoob dance bit sounded like he was dying on the inside. Poor guy. He used to be a Doctor and there he is advertising toys and a TikTok dance for Walmart.
Oh, yeah, don't you just LOVE it when you live in a non-English-speaking country and cannot watch any movies or anime from an official source for the first half a year since the release, because APPARENTLY, YOU'RE NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED TO WATCH IT IN THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE?! This happens to me all the time, like, all the big platforms, like Funimation, VRV, Netflix and others just lock me out of their site because their shows aren't yet translated to my language. I just always feel... Left out because I'm not American.
Devil! Rat Well I partially agree with you about how a lot of shows are dumb out here but I do like a lot of shows made here Also what do you mean by “western” like where is the border line of western and eastern animation
This reminds me, when there was a petition for our country (actually 2 countries joined together for that) to get access to Crunchyroll, so we can watch anime legally. The sign count got to pretty much triple the goal was and there were A LOT of groups of volunteers to translate for free from both countries (our languages are so similar, that there's little to none language barrier). The overall result was that our countries won't get the access, because we have the reputation of pirates. Well, maybe if we had a legal access to anything else than a Pokemon, then it won't be that much of a problem? Seriously, we didn't get the chance to legaly watch any anime since 2009 and anything older, that was available before that year, can't be found anymore. And I didn't even mention the shows that were airing or announced during the year 2009. Some were cancelled, some were rushed to DVD's and VHS's (that you can't find anywhere than a flea markets these days) and others just stops in the middle of season with no other information whatsoever... What do you expect us to do?! Watch others with jealousy, that they have the option to watch it and accept the fact we will never get it? Thanks a lot!
You'd think producers would go out of their way to give every opportunity to have people pay them for their product instead of stealing it. As put by Gabe Newell valve's co founder and Ceo "In general, we think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy," "Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem. People are willing to pay for convenience, if piracy is the more convenient option they will pirate it
@Daniel Marinho Honestly, I don't want to support any of the Legal anime streaming services in America due to how toxic they are to the medium as a whole, especially now that Sony has a complete monopoly on all legal anime in the US as of the time of writing this comment. It would be one thing if the money paid actually made it back to the animation studios, translators, and VAs and not to lining executive's pockets. I am praying that Kadokawa's move to release direct to international audiences succeeds because I am tired of the American companies sucking all of the revenue away from the Japanese studios and creators and I would gladly pay Kadokawa or other Japanese publishers directly so that my money can actually help support the industry and not the cancer afflicting it.
yeah. a lot of piracy goes away when people have access to the thing they desire, even if they have to pay. its only a problem if the thing they want is very overpriced or theres no access to it. this is why i watch a lot of movies, cartoons and anime on sketchy websites, its the only way to see them where im from. there is very little access to anime especially and from the few scraps netflix throws at me i still dont have enough. recently i wanted to watch houseki no kuni. nothing on netflix, i only found something on amazon. but amazon isnt in my region. maybe i could do some fiddling, but if bezos doesnt care about my country im not giving him money. i went on my trusty anime website and of course it was there. this is the case with most things i watch, there is just no way to access them otherwise. it is no accident that mostly region locked content is pirated. let people give you their money and this problem goes away
@@waifu_png_pl6854 once upon a time, i wanted to watch a japanese musical. Of course, i'm on the other side of the world, so i couldn't just go and see it. Also the fact that the run i wanted was in 2003, well before i knew it existed. Cut to about a decade after that performance and my wanting to watch it. The dvd was something like $160 and i would have to buy a dvd player that was not region locked for japanese/uk movies. I didn't watch it. Some years later, there was another musical i wanted to watch. I kept my ear to the ground and found it on youtube to watch for free after about a year. Crappy quality, but saved me buying an $80 dvd not including overseas shipping and a new dvd player. Moral of the story: you won't be getting money from me if you go out of your way to make your product inaccessible. I'd rather find a way to get it elsewhere or just turn my back on it and try to forget it.
i was expecting them unmasking different ghosts like the first "enemy" sort of thing to get to one main villain. But this is a goose chase to whatever the end is. I usually like any movie i watch but this one made me feel iffy. Enough that i stopped watching it about 30 minutes in after scoob and shaggy god alien abducted lmao
Legit thought that the "dog-pocalypse" was Dastardly planning to take everyone's dog away because he lost his own or something. Then Scoob would vanish somehow, and the team would actually need to REALLY come together, with Falcon who also lost his dog, to solve the mystery. And since people LIKE having supernatural elements in Scooby Doo ie Zombie Island, maybe have the souls of the dogs be the key to something like Cerberus' awakening. Is it perfect? No but there are actual stakes in the film, Ceberus is there for more than just 20 minutes and there would be agency and urgency for all characters involved. And hey, maybe have Dee Dee be more than just the CHAUFFEUR because WOW not cool. Hey look a black character who's just shoved off to the side but DIVERSITY look our movie has DIVERSITY. Sure ya do.

So, here is the deal. This film went through a lot rewrites and executive decisions, because you can probably tell that even looking at the end credits that this was probably supposed to be a different movie. Reel FX has had a lot of trials in making this film. This was made over a 6 to 8 year period and was jerked around significantly. The animation looks solid for what it is, but the story falls so flat that it is definitely disappointing and so obscure. Matthew Lillard should have been Shaggy. I agree with everything here and if anything, I think I even checked this review out when the film came out.
This reminds of when BandaiNamco remastered Tales of Vesperia and didn't hire the original voice actor for the Japanese exclusive content they were release for the first time in English. Makes for some super jarring dialogue transitions and they didn't even bother having the new guy do all the original lines either. So you either play it in Japanese or broken ass English.
Considering how there is a large amount of ironic content on UA-cam... UA-cam videos with comedy can almost never be used as evidence. Kinda like that "I plan to kill the president video"
Here's a fun little fact: every channel that reviews reacts or comments on any film TV show or any other type of media is downloading it as a file they can cut up in an editing program. Even if they pay for it somewhere else, they still pirate every clip you see.
@@sreyerbri7469 Technically recording the video from its original media for display to others is still illegal. That's why the reactionary/reviewing side is protected against the legal action of its use.
Pirating is rarely out of greed but out of convenience, the amount of people I know who Pirated the Broly movie simply because there was no where to watch it/stream it, if they wanna stop Pirates make it more available
As a guy who hadn't even heard 'scoob' was coming out, I thought this would be a meme-video where shaggy would explain to scooby why he pirated something, I'm disappointed this isn't the case, but I'm accepting of this being a justification for pirating a movie with questionable marketing schemes.
Why are some of the character models weird? Specifically Fred and Simon? Like the rest of them look fine and go well with their original 2D design, but those two look weird??? In an uncanny valley sort of way but not quite?
If piracy is the only possible way to get a certain piece of digital content, then it is totally fine. I mean, piracy is the only way Cubans watch American movies.
Me with an illegal copy of Sea of Theives downloading in the background when it is perfectley available in my country: ........yeah piracy is awful when you don't have acess to it... hehe.
The TikTok dance thing... "is scoob really there. He's got a shadow and everything." Well done kid for noticing the shadow... Now do shadows normally go in opposite directions?
Not gonna lie dude, this really stinks. They should've gotten their crap together and actually released the movie in places outside the U. S., or at least made clear when it would be released.
don’t know why a popular movie like Scoob had to be region locked, like if the release date was solely for US it should’ve had social media’s dedicated to different regions. Something big like Scoob should’ve had worldwide marketing and distribution anyways.

I mean that guy beat out Brad Pitt; Brad Pitt, who definitely has clout that is comprable Casey Kasem... but Lillard held his own on the roll? You don't ask back the literal modern embodiment of Shaggy? That was pretty much a nail in the coffin for me
Its part of the pandering. I just hope they didn't make Fred a weak apologetic nobody, because his character has the physical appearance of a masculine middle class American teen. That of which we can tell is not all that accepted by the opinions of big companies...

Shaggy's voice is iconic and so many people imitate (whether good or not) that this version feels like a betrayal, and I've only seen one episode of Scooby Doo before.
I love how they used Ken Jeong as a voice for a children’s film. The same dude who’s recognized as one of the most mature a-list comedians still active.
@@MattStMarie-bm5sq Yep. Hell, after he started the UK version of that show, I don’t think anyone liked him. When lockdown hit and series 2 rolled around, ITV booted him off and replaced him with Mo Gilligan, a British comedian who doesn’t obnoxiously insult the other judges every 5 seconds and act like he’s the best. That should tell you all you need to know about how popular he is. Also, I think OP meant mature like adult comedy. Not the other kind of mature. I think so, anyways.
Now days I only pirate shows I can't watch ... I see no point calling someone in random country and asking "Can you buy this show? no? ok, sorry." or "...yes? Can you buy it for me... no?... but I will pay for you! .... hello? HELLO? fuck..."
They tried so hard too appeal too kids - That the humour and film altogether they ended up with a trash, Cringe-worthy film. With the most outdated and unfunny humour imaginable.
The voice casting of "big name celebrities" for the Scooby gang makes no sense to me. If you want those big names cast them as the other characters like the blue falcon, Dynomut, Dick dastardly, captain caveman etc..... The target audience (the kids) Don't care about the names/or celebrities.... If they know the characters like the Scooby gang mainly they just want them to sound familiar....
Personally I didn't start fallowing/being interested in voice actors untill my teen years. Yes I have regular actors I "fallow" but for the most part I want to enjoy the story/movie and see the characters as themselves. Take someone like Will Smith.. you see him and you don't see the genie, or a drink antihero.... You see will Smith and that brakes the wall of enjoyment (IMO).... Nothing against "big name celebrities" but in a movie like Scoob if I was a head executive at WB... I would look at it like this.... We can make a Scooby Doo movie for $XXXX and use The voice cast the target audience Will recognize and be familiar with or we can make the same movie for $XXXXX and pay "familiar names" to impersonate the voices everyone knows and associates with said characters.....
The voice actor thing really pissed me off. Not only did they not tell the original voice actors, but I don’t understand why they’d chose big names over _actual_ voice actors who know what they’re doing! Well, I know why, big names look more impressive on posters. It just makes me so sad.
Sophia Salazar I agree it’s so infuriating when they do that kind of thing. Just slapping on a big actor name is not the same thing as having a VA it’s like what if the anime community did that and instead of casting a really good VA got someone like Matthew Broderick. It’s just not the same thing and personally infuriates me Hollywood doesn’t take this kind of thing more serious cause it’s “kids stuff”
Also, are any of those people "big stars"? I'd never expect someone to go "OH BOY, MARK WAHLBERG IS IN IT? Better go get my ticket!" None of the actors they cast are really gonna put any butts in seats that wouldn't have been there already just because it's Scooby-Doo. The franchise is bigger than any of the names they shoehorned into the cast, and the iconic voices are a big part of that. Honestly I'd say they lost more interest with that terrible sounding shaggy than they gained with "SUPER BIG NAME TRIPLE AAA LISTER WILL FORTE". I had honestly never heard of him before he was cast, and with how bad of a performance he gave, I likely won't be as interested in future things he does. Seems like a bad call all around for them.

Mystery Incorporated is God-tier. The storytelling, the development, the lore are so top notch. It was short but sweet and i wish that the other Scooby Doo shows actually dabbled into mythical creatures being real

I keep wondering when these companies will realise that in the day and age of the internet they can't pill this region bias crap. If they deny access to their product based on location, people will just pirate it easily. If they don't want people to pirate content, don't make the content easier to access through piracy than via official channels.
The character models in this movie gave me Fortnite vibes, Barbie doll vibes, and Simon looked like a Sims character. The main Scooby Doo characters looked okay but man, some models look like they didn't belong in the same movie lol.
Yeah I agree there art direction wasn't consistent, it's like the different modelers didn't talk to each other. I get that this isn't Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks and not everything is going to be that level of quality, but at least make sure your style is together.
@@zachary8872 I don't know what is wrong with Fred.I know what you mean. I see it to but I'm looking at his cartoon design, and in terms of recreating his proportions of his head it's accurate, but something is off. I don't get that from Shaggy or scooby. Velma and Daphne are slightly different but it isn't off putting. It's weird.
As far as I know, there's no "official" way to buy "American's McGee Alice". I really like that game, it has good gameplay and great atmosphere, not to mention how much I like "Fairy-tales turned dark" stories.
This movie is so bad, and yet they have the nerve to shove advertisement down our throats promising a free movie, without the free movie. Disappointing kids and parents, and the rest of their family waiting to watch the movie(which is a bad movie). My god people are so corrupt these days. All to you for pirating the movie.
Even Sonic did the movie night thing, and they did well, with the people that made the movie commenting on it and talking additional stuff along the movie, and it explained that we would have to get the digital copy and hit play when the countdown ended... Its not that hard to do
When a company doesn't offer you an alternative to their product that they do not or cannot make any money on it is morally alright to pirate. Want to play an old WWF game on NES? Its ok because Nintendo isn't selling it. Scoob wasn't released in your country and you were given no way to view it. Its ok because they aren't making money off those people anyway.
You got a really good point, they are not losing money, they wouldn't charge you anyway, so you not paying them was intended, and it was their decision to no profit out of you, so if you want to watch, it's ok to use piracy.
Piracy is (in my opinion) only acceptable as a last ditch. The thing about Nintendo is a good example. If the company is literally providing no alternative it means that they aren’t making money anyway so you pirating it will not affect anyone’s bottom line. It’s only ok if there is no “legal” alternative. Which is sadly becoming more and more common.
That's still a pretty entitled position. Just because you want something doesn't mean you have a right to have it regardless of whether the owner is willing to sell or you're willing to buy. That being said, I find it pretty hard to feel sympathy for souless, billion-dollar studios not getting a few extra shillings especially when that's a direct result of them being either lazy, incompetent, or both.
There’s something to love about the fact that 3/4ths of the video wasn’t even a review and was ranting about the lack of proper distribution. I’m not even joking
I mean if I had to jump through that many hoops and still unsuccessfully watch the movie, I too would dedicate 3/4ths of the video to ranting about it.
Dynomutt was the only redeemable part of the movie, and I learned after the fact that he was probably the least loyal to the source material. 10/10 work guys.
i don't watch anime but i still think that 2d animation is way better, i wish Disney kept making 2d and 3d movies so that other companies would make 2d movies since Disney is practically a role model for animation.
Do we really need another cinematic universe? Couldn't we just have a Scooby Doo movie series which has a strong plot, organic and well fleshed out characters, natural dynamics between the characters, well placed humour with appropriately dark undertones and most importantly, a story to tell? Why should one more MCU wannabe be shoved down our face! Honestly, except for a few artists, I can say that the entertainment industry is nearly dead.
@@randomecorner I did that quite recently, for the 10th time. It is a flawed yet very good show. I am also a fan of ' Be Cool! Scooby Doo ' which I recently watched too, for the 6th time. But I need something new and in a more cinematic way.
@@chinuaalibatya7345 They are definitely not bad but I think that Scooby needs a big comeback on the big screen. We need a revival and a ' cinematic universe ' is not going to do that miraculously (if it is crafted in a rushed way like how Scoob! showed us.). If only these people had taken a more deep aaproach to the vast Scooby property that had come up previously, we would have had such a good Scoob! movie.
I think the problem with the jokes in this movie is that, while a lot of them are funny, they’re very much in an extremely 2020-esque stand up style rather than that traditional Scooby-doo style humor that comes with the characters themselves. In essence. In this movie, you could give any of the humorous lines to any character, and it would still be “funny”. In any other scoob media, the funny moments from the characters comes from their personalities themselves. Something entertaining said by shaggy wouldn’t be the same if it was said by Fred.
I also believe a reason why they changed the characters is because some of the personalty traits would not hold up well... for example the fact that shaggy is a "stoner."
James Shaw Not really. Shaggy being similar to a stoner is more of an inside joke that’s never outwardly acknowledged (the live action movies being the most “obvious”). They still completely ignored the characters core personalities (or just mentioned it in passing) and the humor that come from them and their interaction. Scooby and Shaggy’s adoration of food, loyalty to their friends, and an incredible cowardly motivation to get themselves out of scary situations (plus Scoobys curiosity, which is why he usually accidentally finds the ghosts first and runs for help); Fred’s strategic and creative mind that somehow always forgets to take his friends clumsiness into account; Daphne’s social skills, intelligence and almost Kim Possible level of connections; Velma’s love for mystery, keen mind, and her uncanny ability to becoming completely useless at a drop of her glasses. To add to what @Scourge said, the movie (sans the actually really cool beginning before Simon came in) was also more about Blue Falcon ft. Mystery, Inc. instead of the other way around. Separating the team for most of the movie was not a great move. I’m also a little salty that it wasn’t a mystery story either.
Coming from someone whose childhood consist of watching reruns of the 1969, scooby doo cartoon, that I need to rewatch honestly this is what i remember from the original show when it comes to humor. At the end of an episode Shaggy: Where's scooby? *Scooby comes out a hidden place or screws with shaggy* Velma: Oh scooby, you ham. Scooby:Hehehehehehehehe, Scooby doobie Do!
@@KaminariHouse Yes, here in the US, piracy of any kind if a crime if a product is distributed without the consent of the creator or original company. It is actually a serious crime too, and obviously it strips companies of their revenue from a product they make. If its a bad movie like Scoob or the Emoji Movie then honestly I would recommend pirating as it is not worth the price, but pirating good movies just steals from the hard working studios.
I like how an episode from Scooby doo mystery inc. had a better crossover in one 20 minute episode versus an entire movie, then it was just revealed that it was Scooby food dream
I already pirate all my anime for two reasons A)Why should I pay for an inferior service (For example, only being able to access subs for the most part on crunchy roll and only having a very small selection of shows and movies) while I can get a superior service for free (Effectively limitless selection and choice between subs and dubs B)Access in my country. Therefore, I have to rely on fansubbers to translate the movie into English when it’s blue ray releases in 3-6 months
I occasionally dab just to feel cringe emanate from those around me. I have actually learned to sustain my basic needs by feeding off the cringe of others through a photosynthesis-like process.
This movie feels like a long drawn out sigh. For every good thing in it, a bad is there to match. What gets me going, is the dialogue especially. There is a moment, I'm not even kidding, where Fred is "fighting" with Falcon and yes I put quotes cause they're really just pushing on each other, and Velma just outright states "toxic masculinity". And just.....THANKS I HATE IT. And I'm not particularly attached to Scoob. In the end, I'll just go watch Zombie Island, Cyber Chase, Scoobynatural for actual good Scooby Doo content.
Funny how they chose someone who dropped the hard N word as someone who voices the woke character. There is some irony here that would be hilarious if not sad that they shafted the original VAs.

when l lived in a small city back in my days of one year ago, going to the movies almost every tuerdays afternoon was a staple of almost every one in school above the age of 13, since they had a special promotion for students. no one would organize to meet there, we all just kinda of did when we would go to the mall get our stomachs flled with greasy macdonalds food after school and evryone would end up watching a movie in little groups and every single group would have that one kid who had recently gained money and blew it all off in snacks for everyone (its legal here to bring food to the movies). I'll miss those days

It could be a unifying feeling knowing that there’s someone from across the ocean is watching the same thing you’re watching and at the same time
Had a similar issue recently with anime. I waited since last September for an anime called "Brand New Animal" by Studio Trigger. Trigger is my favourite animation studio and I love all their works, so naturally I was pumped to watch BNA... Unfortunately, It was licensed to Netflix. So while Japan was getting the anime, Over in the UK, and pretty much the rest of the world also, we had to wait for the show to even finish before it was on Netflix months after the show aired in Japan. Literally the only way to view it was illegally.

"Is this the pinnacle of modern released films?" No, this is a cheap film that was going to be released in theaters like every cheap film, all of the good films in 2020 were pushed to be released in 2021, and Christopher Nolan's Tenet was the only one to actually make it in 2020... and it was released in the theater. The release at home model could have worked for great films, but the artists that really wanted to show their art decided it'd be best to wait to see if 2021 would be better. Direct to home releases seem to becoming mainstream for the lowest common denominator films for which they are able to charge the full price for a family of 4 at the theatre tickets and popcorn, and not provide you with the popcorn... *Sigh* 2020 could have been a good year if more people chose to go with the flow, embrace the changes for a season and genuinely try to be nicer, and to a certain extent many were, many youtube creators, performing artists, and Alton Brown, turned to giving free concerts and live events which were greatly enjoyable, Pixar artists working from home produced really fun little shorts... I can't think of any more. But the big studios, nahh....

When I first saw trailers for Scoob, I thought it’d just be an origin story. As I saw more ads, I got confused what the story was. This video has only worsened that confusion. Also, do film execs, like, know how to do cinematic universes? Disney, for all their faults, spent more than a dozen films over a decade to cultivate the bonsai that was the Infinity Saga. DC comes along and tries to do the same thing in like, 3-5 films and it fails hard. Now Scoob is trying to do it in 1, literally what
The MCU has taken decades of comics, films, shows, etc. to build up it's universe and get all of the pieces in place. It's not something that can be done in just four or five films. It takes alot of effort and planning, making sure every last bit of the story is perfect. Otherwise it ends up like so many other stories, moving too fast to make any sense.
another example is the arrowverse. they slowly built their universes with flash and arrow and stuff. and didn't directly went into it expecting a huge universe.
Yeah that’s what REALLY confused me. If they wanted to have a cinematic universe, then they should’ve referenced future IPs in extra details or throwaway lines in Scoob!, then connect the threads with later instalments. You can’t cram 5 different movies into one and not expect people to be confused about the story.
the region locking complaint is honestly just hilarious to those of us from often-overlooked countries. i can’t count how many times i’ve had the problem now not shipping to me, not being able to donate to causes that matter to me (donate-a-thons on youtube especially) and delayed releases of most movies. in the past few years the only time i think we got something that mattered *earlier* than some major countries was the last how to train your dragon movie which was a surprise to me. so anyway my point was that a lot of us live in such a privileged society where we can complain about having to wait more than a day or two to watch a movie when there were so many years where this level of globalisation wasn’t a thing. still doesn’t excuse the fact that a staggered release was a stupid idea which was painful to me cos i wasn’t able to watch the movie until like a month at least after its release bc i swore off piracy this year
This, it's really sad and all these distribution platforms don't realise how much money they're losing from doing this. I'm also based in a country where a lot of movies I'm eager to watch take ages to officially release, and it's just frustrating when you're genuinely trying and wanting to give money to the creators, but you can't because the platform just doesn't allow you to.
Thank GOD the original Scooby Doo actors didn't do this film, because this cringey bullcrap could have been the worst thing Scooby Doo related of their career.
The movie Had SO MUCH potential yet they decided to make an MCU with the Hannah Barbara Characters. They then decided to use not only 1 but 4 different series of characters that it ended up being a big failling mess

Piracy is a symptom of bad service.
When Steam was created, its solution to piracy was to just make a good service.
yeah. a lot of piracy goes away when people have access to the thing they desire, even if they have to pay. its only a problem if the thing they want is very overpriced or theres no access to it. this is why i watch a lot of movies, cartoons and anime on sketchy websites, its the only way to see them where im from. there is very little access to anime especially and from the few scraps netflix throws at me i still dont have enough. recently i wanted to watch houseki no kuni. nothing on netflix, i only found something on amazon. but amazon isnt in my region. maybe i could do some fiddling, but if bezos doesnt care about my country im not giving him money. i went on my trusty anime website and of course it was there. this is the case with most things i watch, there is just no way to access them otherwise. it is no accident that mostly region locked content is pirated. let people give you their money and this problem goes away
If it's easier to pirate it for free than buy it legally, people will pirate it. Any company who thinks otherwise is dumb.

This film went through a lot rewrites and executive decisions, because you can probably tell that even looking at the end credits that this was probably supposed to be a different movie. Reel FX has had a lot of trials in making this film. This was made over a 6 to 8 year period and was jerked around significantly. Shaggy's voice is iconic and so many people imitate (whether good or not) that this version feels like a betrayal, and I've only seen one episode of Scooby Doo before.
I love how they used Ken Jeong as a voice for a children’s film. The same dude who’s recognized as one of the most mature a-list comedians still active.
you mean the one of the most immature comedians aside from insult comics. take a look at how he behaves on the masked singer.

Yup, It's the 80's and 90's all over again.
You mean like Scooby doo? Or do you want to go back to when the Harlem Globe trotters where there
Oof TvT Ew.
I still don't get why they replaced the actors with big stars. Surely people like Matthew Lillard are stars? Literally because of shaggy
I will NEVER pay for a Scooby movie without Matthew Lillard voicing Shaggy. Especially one done behind his back.

Dude like fr... I didn't watch it but after that idek of I'll watch anything Warner brother would make cuz I'm not getting ripped off like that movie
I like the movie , it was meh , but i pirated it because in my country the dollar is too expensive (sorry for my bad english)
Which is sadly becoming more and more common.
hahahaha I love the old WWF games
Honestly i watch everything pirated unless its a good movie worth being seen in theaters like a blockbuster film

They are definitely not bad but I think that Scooby needs a big comeback on the big screen.

@@KaminariHouse Yes, here in the US, piracy of any kind if a crime if a product is distributed without the consent of the creator or original company.
Now Scoob is trying to do it in 1, literally what
IKR
You can’t cram 5 different movies into one and not expect people to be confused about the story.
the region locking complaint is honestly just hilarious to those of us from often-overlooked countries. i can’t count how many times i’ve had the problem now not shipping to me, not being able to donate to causes that matter to me (donate-a-thons on youtube especially) and delayed releases of most movies. in the past few years the only time i think we got something that mattered *earlier* than some major countries was the last how to train your dragon movie which was a surprise to me. so anyway my point was that a lot of us live in such a privileged society where we can complain about having to wait more than a day or two to watch a movie when there were so many years where this level of globalisation wasn’t a thing. still doesn’t excuse the fact that a staggered release was a stupid idea which was painful to me cos i wasn’t able to watch the movie until like a month at least after its release bc i swore off piracy this year
EXACTLY!!! The only exceptions are the films produced or filmed in these countries and that's pushing it.
and this is exactly why piracy is a thing. lack of access is the biggest problem
Good on you for swearing off piracy, the problem he had here was that they had promised to release it in the UK and then had gone back on their word
Same bro! Living in a country that isn't America sucks sometimes..
