"Buzz, your girlfriend... Woof!" Fun Fact: Buzz's "girlfriend" is actually the art director's son in a wig. Chris Columbus thought it was too cruel to make fun of a girl that way.
The older I get, the more I appreciate the Old Man Marley scenes. One interesting detail is Marley's wounded hand. When he first met him, his wound is bloody, then when he talks with Kevin at the church, the hand is bandaged. Finally, when he reconciles with his son and granddaughter, the wound is completely healed.
Makes me cry every year in the church and the reconciliation scene at the end. This is one of those movies that can only be truly appreciated the older you get
Also when Kevin and Marley are in the church and Marley says you better get home and after they wish each other Merry Christmas and Kevin is saying goodbye, the church clock strikes 8 for 8pm (John Williams composed these songs brilliantly) and Kevin needs to be home by 9pm to defend his home. There are so many flashes of angels in those scenes (the church and when Kevin has dinner) that I haven’t noticed before.
Me and my now 12 year old son quote a specific line on regular basis: anytime we have a discussion about something and one of us is listing different reasons, our third reason is always „and „D“ we live in the most boring street in the United States of America…“ 😂
I've said it before, but Im commenting it again. I know first watches are popular, but people rewatching things they've seen several times over is my favorite. All the better when they quote along. Dont know why it gets me but I end up smiling so much.
What I like about rewatches is when the reactor catches something they never noticed on previous viewings. You also don't have the reactor talking through dialog that ends up being important to the plot later.
Yessss! My favourite Christmas film. I went to see a double feature of 1 and 2 at the cinema last weekend and it was packed with families where the children were probably seeing it for the first time and I can confirm that it still hits. Every child was glued to the screen and laughing hysterically, which was lovely to see.
I think it kind of makes sense that the old man came in to help cause they established that he likes to shovel snow at night and probably saw people trying to break into the house
26:47 - This rendition of "Oh Holy Night" is one of my favorite holiday songs of all time. Its beautiful, magical even, and the harmonies just blend seemlessly like silky smooth chocolate.
You can see at 22:22 he does have two big speakers on either side of the tv (similar to a pair my family had in the 90's). Those things could absolutely blast the windows out if you had them at full volume! How he got them up there, I have no idea; they weigh more than he does for sure.

ngl popstars in Poland we say "there is no Christmas without Kevin" it's honestly our Christmas culture to watch it on every single day of holidays, not only that but every single tv channel is airing Home Alone on Christmas since like early 2000s so everyone in this country knows it by heart just like you 😂❤ and I mean it - on Christmas it is ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE ❤ love the video ❤ Merry Christmas 🎄❤
Even though I'm a Muslim from Egypt and I don't even celebrate Christmas, I absolutely adore this movie, and most of my family does, and even my mom, who doesn't like non-Egyptian movies, loves this movie. it's so nostalgic to me and makes me so emotional
6:43 Kevin sister counted herself TWICE and the neighbor too. Look at that again. Since I was little I've always noticed that, so yes, it's everybody fault if they didn't notice he was missing. Btw, do you really let your other kids to look at the little ones? The oldest is what, 16? Ok she's old but not enough to look at your youngest when you have 7 kids. The parents should've check on him since he's the youngest one. Years and years watching this movie and every year I get more upset about how they treated him hahaha, HE'S RIGHT I DON'T CARE.
Guys hold on 😂 I watched it again and she didn't only counted herself twice, but when she was about to count the blonde girl who was the 6th, after Buzz talked she counted Buzz as the 6th when he was the 7th 🤣. She has to be blamed honestly.
When I found this out I thought it was so random, like who would have ever thought, but I honestly love them together. It’s also pretty cool how they both played characters in hotels, with the Tipton and the hotel in the second movie of course 😅
My brother has shown both the first and second home alone to his kids. They all love it and will quote "merry Christmas you filthy animals" all of the time
This is my husbands favorite movie and we watch it SO many times EVERY YEAR! Watching this is like watching the movie with my husband. He quotes like every line.
I taught English in South Korea and my middle school students were obsessed with this movie! They asked for it every year. So, yes, it still resonates with kids
My dad died this year and the jokes and inside jokes my brother and I were making to get through it were on par with the one Rizzo and his sister did and that bit of the video made me laugh cause ooft I understand 😂
39:45 Yes!!! My kids are 7, 7 (twins), and 9 and they have been watching and loving Home Alone for the past couple years now. It has definitely stood the test of time with my family!
i took my friend to a “saturday rewind” themed night and it was home alone! he’d never seen it before (he grew up in cuba) and he was laughing so much by the end of it! he wasn’t totally on board at first but he wanted to see the second one immediately
I love how out of ALL things to call out Rizzo is mad that the “TV wouldn’t sound like a tv” for the 2nd shooting gag but at 22:22 you can clearly see 2 speakers the size of Kevin on either side of the small ass TV boosting the sound. So they actually DID have amazing surround sound to make it plausible
I recently watched it with my mom, she had not seen it before and I had, but she was cracking up the whole movie, safe to say it still holds up, it’s still a classic! And I hope newer generations can still feel the warmth this movie brings this time of year
18:47 in the novelisation of this film, it's revealed that Kevin's Mom was a fashion designer, which explains the mannequins to an extent, especially if she was designing stuff at home or often displayed her designs?
I love the music at the church and how it transitions from Carol of the Bells to the background music while he is setting up traps. It is still so good!
According to Google Kevin is 8 years old so not a toddler but definitely not old enough to stay home alone for that long. Also Kevin's mom may be a seamstress hence the mannequin
"Were they just gonna... tie him up and leave him to drown?" 😬 That's about as dark as their plans for Kevin after going through his Saw-style trap house 😅 I love how completely out of place Joe Pesci is in a family film, but he's hilarious being a little cartoon villain. For Daniel Stern in a really dark comedy - Very Bad Things
4:29-4:34 as a younger sibling, my sister (she’s 7 years older than me) she would get so pissed off that I would barely get in trouble when we were younger…I felt so bad because I should’ve gotten in more trouble than her so I get both Benji and my sisters frustration😂 Also love your sweaters and I agree Home Alone will forever be a Christmas Classic! I love this movie so much👏😭
Showed this movie to my 8 yr old nephew a while ago - the first half he complained non-stop that it was sooooo booooring, but we made him keep watching and the second half he giggled the whole way through, it still hits. A classic for sure.
We watched this lay year with our kids who were 13, 12 and 9 at the time. I think they were all seeing it for the first time and they all really enjoyed it.
My son was born on the 23rd and I'll never forget watching this on Christmas Eve in our hospital room, just the two of us. I'm not surprised that this is still one of his favourite movies 😅
I didn’t see this movie until a few years ago when the kids I was babysitting wanted to watch it. They loved it and so did I! I definitely think it still holds up.
Omg Benji you're not alone! Seen this a bazillion times but it only occurred to me watching it the other night that Kevin cleaned up all his traps afterwards 😅
It's so "sweet" that John Candy and Macaulay were together again in this after Uncle Buck. Even though they didn't share a scene together, close enough. The funeral story by Candy was completely improvised, which makes it even more hilarious, rest in peace...Marv's spider death scream is legit. He really had arachnophobia. The greatest crime committed in this movie is certainly... that Kevin never even gets to eat his highly nutritious Macaroni and Cheese. He's most well known for this but "The Good Son" and "My Girl" I highly recommend. "What, now?" "No tomorrow ya egghead yeah now!" 😂
If you haven't seen it or want to watch it again, then please watch " While You Were Sleeping." It's one of my favorite Christmas movies. TYSM for months/hours of entertainment. 🎅 Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! 🎄

when kevin is talking to his brother about the suitcase, for a moment they walk through the bathroom, and his brother puts a toothbrush in his pocket, presumably to pack. this is why kevin doesn't have a toothbrush, he didn't realize he was using his brother's toothbrush the whole time
Every time I watch home alone, I feel bad for Kevin because he’s been the scapegoat for both 1 and 2. He didn’t have to apologize for being reasonably pissed at his family treating him so bad 😢😢
I showed my 4 and 2 year old goddaughters this movie earlier this week and I can say with confidence that yeah it still hits at least for kids anyway lol. 2 year old was in and out but 4 year old stay locked in 80% of the film. She especially loved when the clerk and the cop chased Kevin. She asked me literally yesterday if we could watch “Kevin’s movie” so it definitely still lands.
I work with preschool/kindergarteners and they love home alone! We watched the nutcracker movie that Macaulay Culkin did and they were all going “it’s Kevin!” seems like it’s gonna be a classic for a long time
I think the reason for the mannequin was Kevin's mom was a designer, a very successful one, especially with the sewing machine they have in the bedroom lol n I love how there's levels of success to the mccalister family with the uncle being the cheapest n poorest lol
I had 3000 minutes watched of the pink podcast this year and I can’t wait to get more minutes in lmao merry Christmas you guys hope yall have a safe and happy new year.❤

😂 there’s so many clues
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the first time when Rizzo is out quoting Benji and I love it
Okay but y’all’s sweaters this winter season have been on point. Barbie and Ken. The trio ones. These matching ones. Lol
