- This is a useful unboxing and assembly video for the lithium-ion battery-powered DEWALT FLEXVOLT™ 60V MAX Cordless String Trimmer. It is a great trimmer and has enough power and run time to compete with the popular and powerful gas-powered string trimmers. Check it out!
I have a lot of the dewalt tools and when you put the batteries on the charger you don't actually have to press the button on the battery all you have to do is when you slide the battery on the charger just slide it down until you hear it audibly click and you should be fine. And I like that you actually mention that this trimmer has one of the quick load heads I've seen a lot of reviews on line of people complaining it's too complicated to respool the line because they don't know about the quick load feature and actually think you have to disassemble the head like you would on a traditional trimmerhead.
Thank you so much for making this video. As in anything else that I have to assemble if I tried to do this without watching your video it put it together and a lot of frustration. They give me three huge books of instructions and I can barely see the print and it would probably just confused me more if I Tried reading them first. But with your video it was a piece of cake I had it together and maybe 10 minutes max with no frustration at all. You are appreciated👍
You are very welcome George! I'm glad this is useful for you and others!
Thanks for making this video. Mine came with no owners/operating manual and I had absolutely no idea since this is my first battery operated piece.
The plastic insert on the shaft had me baffled. You pulled it out and I was like, oohhh. Thanks
Saaaaame.
Yes, that's exactly why I Googled this video: the black plastic cap on the pole. Okay, remove it.
Thank you, this time I needed more then some small pictures that didn't look like the same machine.
I have this model, it is awesome. I use Trimmer Plus attachments on this unit.
thanks for your help got mine at Home Depot for $316
You’re welcome!

You’re welcome!

Thank you! This helped a ton
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks for video!
That’s the handle the guard goes on the trimmer head
How big of line can you put in that spool? And if this was posted 11 months ago how is it holding up now?
Haven't had to replace the original line it came with so I can't confirm on the size but it's been working fantastic since I got it. Trimming and edging is a breeze now.
The spool head fell off the second I used it and don’t know how to tighten it .
How many manuals and what are their titles?
@edo ba DIY - The front parts fell off when I opened the box today (where the cord/string goes) - Can you confirm that there are two pieces - one a small black circle piece that goes in first on the end...and then the black circle box that contains the string? And can you see which way that circle goes in as it has two sides? Thank you! It came barely screwed in I guess. Strange.
That's strange but yeah the trimmer head should have two pieces. The one that contains the string and the "bump" cover that closes it. Not sure of the orientation but if you check the manual that came with the trimmer it will have a diagram showing how those pieces come together on the trimmer head.
Thank
You sir
Same .. small round goes back in with slots . Dewalt sign goes outside on the ground and reverse screw in but I don’t know how to tighten it
How do I attach the strap ?
Garbage mine quit today, exactly a year IT lasted. took it apart hair thin wires on switch melted ....... was gonna repair but too cheaply made ...NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME,!!! Currently in the GD Trash Can!!!
The two screws were missing for the guard. Can you tell me the size please
Those should be M4x0.7x15 hex screws
Thank you.
Geez alot of missing parts in these comments! Doesn’t make me happy hearing that .
Doers anyone know how the line is advanced on this model? Is it bump feed?
Bump feed should work, but I just stop it, flip it over and turn the head counter clockwise twice to advance the line as my line is thick and doesn't advance well if I bump it.
@@DIYMaistor Thank you, appreciate the reply.
