I remember when I saw that movie with an audience in the theaters there were grown men weeping in pain for what they saw was so terrible They knew they would never again be the same. Critics gave up reviewing movies, movie theater ushers quit on the spot, and astrologists began consulting the stars certain the end of days was near. It was a dark day. Also, Gene Siskel famously panned the silence of the lambs, which I think the majority of people on this earth will call an actual masterpiece. So critics can always be so wrong one wonders how in the hell they have the credentials to be critics in the first place. I suspect that was the case when RLM reviewed Freddy got fingered. You do know in some instances, the Razzies nominate what they do for the laughs. For instance, “Life in a Looking Glass”, which was nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars, was nominated for Worst Original Song simply because “[they] were tired of hearing it”.
The director gets the credit at the Oscars for directing the actors in those Oscar movies, so why don’t the directors get the Razzie for badly directly these awful performances?
I have never been a Julia Roberts fan. All her roles are the same- Julia Roberts. She doesn't act. She did not deserve the Oscar. She should stop 'acting' and take acting classes.
My dad on the video store in the late eighties. I remember staring at the box for Leonard part 6 wondering how I never knew that there were five others that I had never heard of.
Hollywood needs to stop making Pinocchio films. Every 10 to 15 years there's another version of that movie and they're always bad. The best one was the original Disney cartoon and all of the live-action ones have been really bad. Somehow it is a cursed property and people need to just let it go. It's like that weird location in your hometown where every restaurant that sets up there fails no matter how good or bad they are. Edit - I have to say that I have not seen Guillermo del Toro's new version but I am pretty sure that's not live action so it has a chance of being good.
Correct! Pinocchio is one of those stories that just doesn't seem to work as a live action film: It didn't work in the 90s with Jonathan Taylor Thomas, it didn't work in the 2000s with Roberto Benigni as Pinocchio, or in the 2010s with Benigni as Geppetto, and it didn't work in the 2020s with Tom Hanks ☹ I wouldn't hold my breath on the upcoming Guillermo del Toro version, but only time will tell...

Not only was Corden awful, they massacred Bustopher Jones in that movie. In the musical, he's fat, yes. But he's also loved by pretty much everyone, and is a fun high society cat with a shining personality. They movie removed everything but 'Fat' and went from there.

Two that I think should get a mention for worst acting performance are 1) Nicholas Cage in Peggy Sue Got Married, and 2) Keanu Reeves in Dracula. Both decent movies, so how could their performances be overlooked?
It doesn't surprise me that Tom Hanks got a Razzie nomination for Pinocchio, but to be fair, that entire movie was a dumpster fire that completely missed the point of the story. Wasn't his fault. (I actually thought Del Toro's Pinocchio kinda missed the point too but at least that movie was stellar in every other way.)
You mentioned Julia 's wig, but not Lorraine Gary sporting the worst haircut in cinema history. Props to you for showing the endurance to sit though these. I've only seen the entire Jaws and Segal movies . The rest, I couldn't make it past 20 minutes on any of them.
Michael Caine has openly admitted he's never watched Jaws 4 (whatever), and he said he simply showed up, did his scenes, collected the paycheck, then moved on.
Bill Cosby himself realized just how awful "Leonard Part 6" (1987) was weeks before it was even released, such that he publicly denounced and disowned it, urging movie goers not to waste their money. And he humbly accepted all three Razzies for it (Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay and Worst Actor), and even showed them off during late night interviews. Likewise, Tom Green accepted all the Razzies garnered (five total) by "Freddie Got Fingered," (2001) but with a much different opinion about the film's merits (or lack thereof). He brought his own red carpet to the ceremony, along with a big acceptance speech and a harmonica which he then played so badly for so long that eventually he was dragged off the stage.
And yet Bill Cosby went on to tell young black men to, “pull their pants up.” so he wasn’t making entirely great decisions for the community or for the people near him.
Conspiracy Theory, Pretty Woman, Oceans 11 &12, My Best Friends Wedding, Mirror Mirror, Ben, Eat Pray Love, Muriel's Wedding, Valentine's Day, Mothers Day, Charlie Wilson's War, Duplicity, Larry Crowne to name a few. She is so average that it's almost an accomplishment.
I would nominate Julia for a razzie for Steel Magnolias. She’s not an awful actress. It’s just that I think of all the other actresses out there waiting for a break, but because they can book Julia Roberts, nobody else gets a chance. She was good in Erin Brokovich, but again, somebody else could have done the same or better. And I couldn’t stand her in Pretty Woman, but I don’t like that movie anyway.
I've only seen Leonard Part 6 and it was bad. I wanted to walk out of the theater and leave but my friend thought it was hysterical. Between this one and Ghost Dad (another Cosby stinker), he wasn't a good movie actor.
Lorraine Gary had no potential. She had no potential, but she was Sid Sheinberg's wife. She was forced on the Jaws movies. Sid was President of MCA / Universal. A similar arrangement was Jenny Jones, who was the wife of David O. Selznick. He kept putting her in 15 to 20 year old roles till it just became ridiculous and creepy.
Ah, Caddyshack 2. I absolutely remember that being on Cinemax all the time when I was a little kid - and I probably watched it every single time it was on. I actually recorded it on VHS and watched it even when it wasn't on. There are so many lines of that movie that are burned into my memory, I find myself throwing them out every so often, but never get any recognition. It does have the most Chevy Chase sounding line ever though - "So let me get this straight, you pull, I suck. So, what's in it for me?" lol
I always found it entertaining. But I also preface that by disclosing liking a few actors in the film; Jackie Mason, Jonathan Silverman, Robert Stack, Marsha Warfield, to a lesser extent, Dan Aykroyd
Fortunately for me I haven’t seen most of these but your videos are always fascinating nonetheless… I was surprised Tom Hanks’ Elvis performance got so low on the list but I’ll take your word for it!! Dunno however about Lorraine Gary being put so high as it seems to me more the fault of the script than her performance !
Michael Caine said that he doesn't real care how what people think about Jaws the Revenge. He just tells critics that he used the money to buy his mom a house. PS...Michael Caine was also in the Fire Down Under.
The Wedding Singer is one of my favorite movies! But that one doesn’t rely on Sandler’s usual gag style of humor, and he had good chemistry with Drew Barrymore.
I agree with the Roger Ebert review... I believe he said... this movie doesn't improve on a blank tape viewed for the same length of time... hello 911 I'd like to report a murder 😄
How come Eddie Redmayne’s performance in Jupiter Ascending is not on this list? His performance in that film should always be mentioned in some of these Razzie winning and nominated videos because of how awful he was in that film.
The only movie I've ever fallen asleep during at the theater was The English Patient. God that movie was so boring. How it was nominated let alone win an Oscar ls beyond me.
The movie I feel that way about is Days of Heaven. That movie is so boring I wanted to fall asleep. I have no idea why it's considered some sort of classic.
Julia Roberts is overrated. She's had quite a few clunkers, and the one that jumps instantly to mind is Tinkerbell in Steven Spielberg's Hook. Rumor has it that she's also a majr league Diva.

It didn't work in the 90s with Jonathan Taylor Thomas, it didn't work in the 2000s with Roberto Benigni as Pinocchio, or in the 2010s with Benigni as Geppetto, and it didn't work in the 2020s with Tom Hanks ☹
The ONLY James Corden performance I don't hate is his work as the Baker in Into The Woods
And I'd still love to see a better actor do that role.
Yeah, he was surprisingly subdued, instead of his usual smug, ingratiating mugging. Maybe Joanna Gleason rubbed off on him. (She deserved her Tony for her performance as the baker’s wife.)
Yes, I could actually stand that one because it was pretty minor. I just don't understand why he gets cast in these things. Who is he blackmailing?
What?!?! Into the Woods is my pick for worst movie ever made. I HATED that film and asked for my money back!
@@PBASADMIN-fb7xr he did say that Corden wasn't as awful as usual in it, not that the film was any good ;-)
@@gnu_andrew True!
How dare you mention Tom Green's dadaist performance art in Freddy Got Fingered in a list of "worst performances"
Because Tom Green was violently idiotic. That’s why.
😂😂😂❤️
After watching RLM's re:view on it, I do believe it's a misunderstood masterpiece of satire.
@@stephengrigg5988 I will accept misunderstood, but I cannot accept masterpiece. Otherwise, let’s just throw the meaning of that word right out the window. I respect your right to have your opinion, but that opinion is pretty effing crazy.
@@stephengrigg5988 That's exactly what I thought of as soon as it was mentioned.
HUGE credit to you for actually sitting through some of these bombs!
Cats is a movie that actually is impossible to watch. Every 10mins you want to turn it off. This is what they showed Malcom McDowell in clockwork orange
Julia Roberts' in Mother's Day reminds me of Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men.
I'm surprised that Gigli didn't make it anywhere on this list. OMG
I can not watch anything with James cordon. It's an immediate no to anything with his involvement
You do know in some instances, the Razzies nominate what they do for the laughs. For instance, “Life in a Looking Glass”, which was nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars, was nominated for Worst Original Song simply because “[they] were tired of hearing it”.
great picks! i haven't seen a lot of these but you can tell from the clips that these are some of these actors' saddest moments
It is hard to tell if a bad performance is because of the actor or the director.

Don't forget the three versions of Peter Pan. They could have stopped at the 2003 version.
Correct! Pinocchio is one of those stories that just doesn't seem to work as a live action film:
It didn't work in the 90s with Jonathan Taylor Thomas, it didn't work in the 2000s with Roberto Benigni as Pinocchio, or in the 2010s with Benigni as Geppetto, and it didn't work in the 2020s with Tom Hanks ☹
I wouldn't hold my breath on the upcoming Guillermo del Toro version, but only time will tell...
@@viropax1647 you know Del Toro’s version was 2 years ago right? And it was phenomenal
@@anthonyschroeder2770 Haven't seen the Guillermo Del Toro Version yet, I'll check it out. He's a director who could definitely pull off a decent Pinocchio. But the aforementioned Pinocchio renditions are bad.
@ Del Toro’s is definitely one of the best animated films of all time. I quite enjoyed the Johnathan Taylor Thomas version. But I was a kid when it came out so that could be the nostalgia talking. I also haven’t seen it in a while so I might feel differently about it now. Lol
I saw Disaster Movie with Kim Kardashian and others a few days ago. It had Razzie winner written all over it.
Great list.
Lauren Holly is far and away my number one pick.
That bill cosby performance is definitely a great pick for number one also.
Not only was Corden awful, they massacred Bustopher Jones in that movie. In the musical, he's fat, yes. But he's also loved by pretty much everyone, and is a fun high society cat with a shining personality.
They movie removed everything but 'Fat' and went from there.
10:11 Turns out there's two movies John Landis should be in prison for, not just Twilight Zone

Calling Pauley Shore OR Tom Arnold either an actor or a comedian is a stretch of monumental proportions.
I did think Tom Arnold was good in True Lies
Billy cosby knew leonard part six was bad,i remember years ago, seeing him in an interview where he said it should be called leonard part trash...
I’m gonna disagree with you, Julia Roberts’ Mother’s Day wig is so bad it becomes great again🤪. We love to hate it which makes us love it.
These videos are amazing. Brian, your reviews are typically very entertaining and insightful but the personal stories in this one are incredible.
You mentioned Julia 's wig, but not Lorraine Gary sporting the worst haircut in cinema history. Props to you for showing the endurance to sit though these. I've only seen the entire Jaws and Segal movies . The rest, I couldn't make it past 20 minutes on any of them.
I'm glad someone else noticed Lorraine Gary's hair! Every shot of her, I was thinking, "Are they KIDDING us with that hair?? Ugly....."
It's not the hair that is the problem, it's her being underweight bordering on anorexic that makes her skin look tighter than a drum skin.
Michael Caine has openly admitted he's never watched Jaws 4 (whatever), and he said he simply showed up, did his scenes, collected the paycheck, then moved on.
Almost everything Seagull has ever done is Razzi potential. Even when the movie is relatively good, Steven Seagull is Razzi.
Name one movie Julie Roberts acted in where no other actress could have done? Thought so
Conspiracy Theory, Pretty Woman, Oceans 11 &12, My Best Friends Wedding, Mirror Mirror, Ben, Eat Pray Love, Muriel's Wedding, Valentine's Day, Mothers Day, Charlie Wilson's War, Duplicity, Larry Crowne to name a few. She is so average that it's almost an accomplishment.
@@herbwhite7384 Are you serious? No other actress could have played in Pretty woman or any of the Ocean movies? I could list them but I'm too lazy to
I would nominate Julia for a razzie for Steel Magnolias. She’s not an awful actress. It’s just that I think of all the other actresses out there waiting for a break, but because they can book Julia Roberts, nobody else gets a chance. She was good in Erin Brokovich, but again, somebody else could have done the same or better. And I couldn’t stand her in Pretty Woman, but I don’t like that movie anyway.
when you said Bill Cosby, I immediately jumped to Ghost Dad...
I have a soft spot for Bio Dome honesty...i think Pauly worked best in like Encino Man and Class Act.
What else could we expect from Pauly shore? You get what you get. He’s not Humphrey Bogart but if you were young and high, it was fun.
I saw Battlefield Earth in the theatre. It’s really terrible

You poor dear!
In a theatre? You poor soul. 💔
Tom Arnold imo is a great supporting character. any movie is seen him in where he was the buddy he stole each scene. he's a very funny man.
Really liked him in True Lies
I agree. He’s a perfect supporting actor. But he can’t carry a movie.
@@damonr4136 yes i think what True Lies proved was he is best when riffing off other lead actors. He and Arnie had such chemistry in that movie.
You've got to be kidding. He only got to where he is because of Roseanne.
Finally someone who hates Tom Hanks in Elvis- he (and the role) were just awful, a real movie killer.
I never saw Jaws: The Revenge, but I have seen 3 Sharknado movies. I'm OK with that
I'm so old, I remember when Disney released good stuff.
Leonard Part 6 isn't even the worst thing Bill Cosby has done!
Really!?! Do tell! 😂
😂😂😂😮😮😮😮😂
It’s kind of amazing how Hanks isn’t doing an Italian accent, but he’s trying to do an Italian ‘cadence’ for some reason.
I've only seen Leonard Part 6 and it was bad. I wanted to walk out of the theater and leave but my friend thought it was hysterical. Between this one and Ghost Dad (another Cosby stinker), he wasn't a good movie actor.
Siskel NEVER let Ebert live down his thumbs up for Cop and a Half. 😂
I like the Razzies. Bad movies & acting need to be called out. Most of the time they are pretty accurate but they screw up just like the Oscars do.
What ?
Lorraine Gary had no potential. She had no potential, but she was Sid Sheinberg's wife. She was forced on the Jaws movies. Sid was President of MCA / Universal.
A similar arrangement was Jenny Jones, who was the wife of David O. Selznick. He kept putting her in 15 to 20 year old roles till it just became ridiculous and creepy.
Jennifer Jones....
"'Phantom' sucked, but 'Cats' REALLY sucked." ~ Joe Queenan
Lorraine Gary was not a leading actress and had never carried a movie, combined with this being such an awful, AWFUL bomb; what would u expect?
Your disdain for freddie got fingered is genuinely unnerving. That film is a comedy classic.
How anyone can enjoy ANY Adam Sadler movie is beyond me. Same with Steven Segal, Tom Arnold and Paulie Shore.
I feel you, with the exception of Uncut Gems and Punch-Drunk Love.
You are telling me you didn’t enjoy “Click” (2006)?
@@disinfectingwipesHappy Gilmore is a hoot. A cheap shot hockey player turning to golf is a funny idea for a movie.
I liked 50 First Dates. It had charm.
The Wedding Singer is one of my favorite movies! But that one doesn’t rely on Sandler’s usual gag style of humor, and he had good chemistry with Drew Barrymore.
Love the videos, man. Keep it up!!!
Now I gotta watch my boys, Siskel and Ebert.
I agree with the Roger Ebert review... I believe he said... this movie doesn't improve on a blank tape viewed for the same length of time... hello 911 I'd like to report a murder 😄
How in the Hell did Al Pacino got talked into being in that Adam Sandler turkey Jack & Jill?
Either it was blackmail or he lost a bet. 😅
Julia Roberts and her wig deserves 100 oscars
Tom Arnold was awesome in True Lies.
How much did he give you to say that? Lol
Lorraine Gary got the part in the original Jaws because she was married to Sidney Sheinberg, CEO of Universal Studios.
You didn't even mention Ghost Dad. You're kind.
Eventually I shall compel myself to sit through Battlefield Earth, if only so I can say that I saw it.
Bio-dome was the "Plan Nine" of the 1990s... it was so bad it was good.
You had friends who liked cats (2019)? Are they okay?
How come Eddie Redmayne’s performance in Jupiter Ascending is not on this list? His performance in that film should always be mentioned in some of these Razzie winning and nominated videos because of how awful he was in that film.
Ahhh…that has potential.
I unironically loved him in that movie. He was so extra. I use his “HOW DARE YOU” line all the time.
Julia's wig is very Anna Wintour.
Tom Greens Freddy Got Fingered was brilliant. Perfect deconstruction of comedies of that time
I do not understand how Tom Arnold was able to be successful
You probably don't watch Nick Swardson in Bucky Larson: Born to be a star, to think than Adam Sandler in Jack and Jill is worst than him in that year
I still don't understand why Netflix Marmaduke has only 1 Nomination.
The only movie I've ever fallen asleep during at the theater was The English Patient. God that movie was so boring. How it was nominated let alone win an Oscar ls beyond me.
I never saw the film, but I enjoyed the book.
I hated The English Patient. It is one of the most overrated films of all time.

Jaws 4 😂
Ellen Brody has flashbacks to events where she was not present.

To put it very Bluntly, Bill Cosby's Farting is better than his ability to Act, & thats a fact.
Paula shore is okay in some things; Son In Law is one of my favorite movies of all times
Freddy got Fingered is actually kind of good when you look at it from the angle that Tom Green just wasted all that studio money. Like the movie is bad on purpose
