You know you’re the man when people don’t talk smack in the comments. C’mon bro, we got nothing but love for you. That’s a huge compliment considering there always seems to be a keyboard warrior. Great content. Love the vids with the fam in them too! Give it time. You’ll have over a million subs shortly. Best show on You Tube.
Do yourself a favor and grab a couple adhesive backed LED lights from Amazon. Stick a couple on the front and the back of your tool box. Wire them up to a simple fused switch and connect them to the winch battery.. Makes winching at night MUCH MUCH better!
I used that same winch on a uhaul trailer using chains and hooks - what a mess but it got th3e job done! Pulled a Corvair up out of the mud after sitting since the mid 90's.. The winch struggled but it eventually worked. Glad I had a couple helpers to steer and put a stick under the tire to hold it as I shortened the ropes.
After watching a half a dozen or so of your videos I've come to accept the fact that grunting and groaning is just part of doing a project after about the age of 25, I thought I was the only one that made that much noise when I'm get busy on something. One of the things that helps me decide on the projects I do is how many times I have to get on the ground and then get up again. I'm not lazy I'm just old and my damn knees hurt.
I have PTSD and chronic pain from being blown up, and one of your videos is better than Prozac, and Percocet. Especially since I don't take those anymore. You are freaking hilarious, along with being very smart. I think that combination makes it even funnier. Have a cold snack for this old mud dog, Jimmy
Can't get enough of your videos! I am a wrencher and feel your pain and that's where the cold snacks get handy. Oreilly's gives 10 bucks in store credit for each dead battery you bring in. Then you can get more restoration in a rattme can!
I'm 34 seconds in...and I just want to say, you have no idea how much your videos light up my world. So funny, and I look forward to seeing the notification on my phone that a new video has posted. THANK YOU
Since you already got the bat tree in the box and a little extra space a guy could fit a small pure sine wave inverter to run various things off her. Also if there's a spare pin on the trailer brake jack, having the bat tree chargin' off the puller would be handy. Pure sine wave inverter works better with sensitive electronicals like milwaukee rechargable batteries. A cutout under that lip for an outlet coming off the inverter next to the winch would be nice also if the inverter has that option.
Well this made my evening after a long day in the garage. Side note, I did a very similar setup with our 8000 lb winch stuffed into a truck box. Holds the battery, winch, and straps all in one. ;)
Mares Eee Dotes.. and Doze Eee Dotes.... and Little Lamzee Divey... a Kiddle Eee Divey Two ... Yep.. Wouldn't You? ....... Always a treat visiting the Garage! *SCAT DOE SCAT*
Gotta love the comraderie and respect between you fellers with your LubeTube channels. Kinda renews a guys faith in humanity. I was going to suggest y'all have a get together where a guy could meet you all, but i suppose they call that PowerTour...😄
Derek a feller really likes the way you teaches a guy how to hook up a winch and a tool box to keep some cold snacks. Looks kinda cold up there. Stay safe and warm.
Put a couple more of them D-Rings on the south side of the trailer, with some 1/4" plate on the underside of the wood deck, actually 3 D-Rings, Left, Center, Right, some stainless cable a snatch-block or 3, and when you are pulling a loaded C-30 out of the woods on 4 flat tires, 3 which are off the rim filled with mud, a few trees in the way, and the back bed loaded with with junk, wood, steel, rust, what have you, the little Warn will pull with ease, from any direction, and double it's pulling power with ease. Shorten the battery cables to the winch, make them as short as practical, so you have less voltage drop across the terminals. If it were me, I'd all another boat battery of the same rating exactly into the box, wired in parallel, so you have double the capacity and life, with the same voltage and more time on station between charges. You can also wire an inexpensive charger, install it in the box, maybe use a cheap battery box to keep it dry, with a socket inside the box, then you can charge the batteries wherever you are, or even using one of those inverters that connect to 12 volts and charge the batteries while you are on the way to pick up a car, or between off loading it if your batteries do go dead. Works great in the motel room too for charging overnight. AND you can wire a set of tow truck jumper cables, the kind with the stand alone mountable external box, that the 50' cables plug into and you can unplug them storing everything in your pickup boxes or storage box. There won't be any car you cannot recover or load/unload, nothing up to a D-6 you cannot jump start with 2 1000 CCA deep cycle batteries wired in parallel. When I ran a service truck I had a similar rig with an isolator that charged off a 200 amp alternator from a cop car on the engine, and a 4000 watt inverter than ran anything up to a small compressor. Having 2 deep cycle batteries on tap for a winch or charging/jump station is invaluable, not to mention the snatch blocks and some extra stainless cable that easily wraps (50') for stowage, will actually allow you to pull a lot more than the winch is rated for, without burning it up. Just let the winch rest between serious pulling so it doesn't melt. I used a Warn XL 9000 in an old Holmes 440C tow rig, mounted to the frame in the 8' box of a single rear wheel '73 Cheyenne Super 30 4X4, with 100" of cable and using a snatch block, I could recover almost anything anywhere no matter how stuck or rolled over. Later, I added a big Dually rear and the bed with fenders from a 88 pickup, easy to do with the plates mounted to the frame already, plus some helper springs to the rear pack. Then the truck didn't squat at all. The dual isolated boat batteries gave the winch enough a$$ to lift, pull or recover anything, let alone enough to pull big cars and trucks up a flat trailer!
A bolt works well for snagging trailers around....then you don't need to couple and uncouple... don't want to be getting all winded! The zuess...fire cutting thingmabob looks real nice!
For the battery sliding , buy a bottle of water pour the water out back fill with proper amount of air , cram it beside the battery besure to put the cap back on to prevent loss of air . Good luck
You should run the black 12v charge line from the 7 way and connect it to the deep cycle and then run a ground wire off the battery to the trailer frame. That way if you forget to charge the battery it'll have a low Amp charge while your hooked to the truck.
You could even go so far as wiring up a battery tender inside that box, so every so often just plug an extension cord into the side of the box to keep your marine battery fresh!!
If you want to keep the battery charged a trick I learned was get an RV solar panel from harbor freight at like 20 or 40 bucks Mount it to the top of that nice shiny aluminum and wire it to your battery. It'll stay charged all the time. Another little trick is put one of them d-rings with a turnabout at the end of the trailer run your cable through that and you can pull cars off the trailer cuz sometimes that's a pain in the ass.
Mice and birds and squirrels have a new home !!! PETA approved! Batt rey might of been better off on left side like you discovered. And hopefully no testicles we're injured in this video especially by splinters from the wood deck....yes I said deck!
A smart man would use a large washer when mounting that thin box to the trailer.Vibrations will wallow those bolt holes and petty soon it will break loose. No shortcuts with safety items that might hurt someone else.Keep up the good work.
Holy Hanna dare Mr. Visegrip, y'all are a real Steady Eddy usin' that lightening torch cuttin' out date tooling box, and thanks a ton for giving me how to directions on getting on my trailer just by snatchin' that cable around my leg and winch me up. I'm a Old Coot, need all the help I can get, so that's gonna work guud fer me. Tks again! Keep these informative vid's comin'.
If you run cables down the truck frame and put a fork lift battery connector on it and the same on the trailer you can keep that winch battery charged, and also cut the ends off of a pair or jumper cables you can put the same forklift battery connectors on them in front and rear of the truck, I put my winch on a Reece receiver for the front and back of the truck and welded one to the trailer, mobile and universal
It's late here in the UK and now we have an unnamed storm, rattling the windows. I'd even swap it for snow tbh... Or even being dragged by the leg by a guys trailer winch...
nice looking setup. you make it look easy. thanks for the encouragement for the regular folks. I hope I can send you something for cold snacks and bat-ries some day. My 86 F250 wants all my money right now.
I know it's way late, and the ball in the bucket is a good idea, but if your rear blade has holes in it for adjusting the angle of the blade, you can mount a ball back there. It's easier to see, and you can pick it up with the three point. Just a thought!
Mate I have the same tape measure that you had sitting in the tractor bucket... I found mine in the middle of a round a bout here in Hervey Bay, Queensland Australia. Great tape measure for sure. You are a legend mate.
I little tip I learned from watching automated machine is start you cut slightly within the shape your cutting out so you dont have a plasma nipple at the beginning of your cut
Sidewall off ole tire works wonders for trap door flapper, if'n wanna keepin little pelltets droppers outta ya wire in that there camo advertizment for a winch n bat tree inside hider. Even helps a fella level the camo box where off sittin in frame ta deck, if'n he wanna git fancy in all that
If a guy got a nice big bite with the ol' D ring and some extra cable could rig a double line pull for the securely lodged fence row treasures. Never hurts to have options.
You need a snatch block for the really heavy units ( big and no wheels.) The winch is only 2000 lb. If you are dragging a truck or anything that has no wheels turning in the dddirt, you will need it. I do a lot of winching
Hey Bud, you can mount an ATV winch roller setup right on the front of the tool box where your cable comes out. You will need it if you pull junk at angles, plus it protcts your cable from fraying.

boy oh howdy do they save on time
It's a jedi light saber
Me too! Even thought everything I need cut can be done with a sawzall I still need one.
best tool ever invented. I even have a cheap plasma weld from amazon and it's an awesome machine!
Right sje a bit more accurate for a feller

This whole video was just hilarious!
This is pretty much my new favorite channel. Makes a guy wanna go buy a pile of junk.
thanks Matt
@@ViceGripGarage I've got 3 piles of junk lol
I'm only watching this for Derek. I don't even care about a winch, he's THAT entertaining! Go on my man!

You should put a bigger winch on your car trailer. You will have more winch pulling power
The leg drag was bold but the cup holder sight-gag was the funniest yet. Nice wrench slide/crash. Way too much. Perfect.
You can always zip a harbor freight solar trickle charger on the top of that lid of the toolbox and keep that battery all zip zapping up to par
Why does this guy not have over a million subs this is educational and funny as hell
Derek a feller really likes the way you teaches a guy how to hook up a winch and a tool box to keep some cold snacks. Looks kinda cold up there. Stay safe and warm.
Derek those portable work benches are pretty well all a guy needs eh!! I use my bucket all the time!
yeah, they work good!
For me, it's the tail gate of the pickem-up!
@@retro440 NICE!! That too
Did I just watch almost 19 minutes about a tool box? Yes, yes I did. Derek, you are that entertaining!

Nice way to get eye hole terminals to a larger size is a chainsaw file in a drill. Drill bit always gets stuck and messes them up, try’s to bite ya.
If a guy got a nice big bite with the ol' D ring and some extra cable could rig a double line pull for the securely lodged fence row treasures. Never hurts to have options.
Get one of those cheap solar powered battery tenders from harbor freight and mount to the unit and it'll keep the battery full! Works great!

Hey Bud, you can mount an ATV winch roller setup right on the front of the tool box where your cable comes out. You will need it if you pull junk at angles, plus it protcts your cable from fraying.
Inside my head...you are my best friend. Keep up the shenanigans!
Thanks for the response VGG. Keep on entertainen us all.
Thanks for watching Tom!

You need a battery Tender for your batterys. So when you go to use them they are charged. Especially the deep cycle battery.
A guy had to review how another guy mounted his winch on a trailer, in a tool box. Great video.
Oh shoot, i used to love that Menards jingle, hey? Save Big Money at Menards! Such a hearty chorus on that one, huh?
Honestly, this channel is too much fun - almost criminal to a guy
When's a fella gonna snip one of them digical backup cameras into ol' Beets? There's some pretty snazzy ones they can send a guy from the Amazon bleep bloop machine for a good price. Changed this fella's life putting one in his gas-powered cart!
it'll be as handy as a pocket on a shirt! :D
dangt straight!
You make things seem easy and fun at the same time you're super funny rock on
Step Drills work great to enlarge those holes. Granted it will usually gash your hand when it catches, but the hole is Reeeaal nice.
It's pretty amazing how good those little Plasma Cutters work!
I pay money to motor trend on demand to watch Roadkill and stuff, but I'm more excited by new VGG episodes than anything else.
You rock my friend, thanks for stopping by!
You can never have too sturdy of a can holder on the tractor. 👍
Your post nothing but the best content. Cheech on brother.
needed a dimond plate air freshner & that tractor will do alot of chores for sure
As soon as those sparks went through, I thought to myself, "Well I'll be dipped." I know every one of you did as well. Don't lie.
I was actually surprised too sure like to have one of them soon
You sold me on it. I'm already looking into buying one for myself.
2nd that
I guess I'm the 3/4s- you called it, missing a leg.
I found it...a guy will let ya have it back for a couple cold snacks
Peg!, that dirty Albertan!
Look at the bright side......You've got 5 less toenails to worry with!!!

have thought about that, we'll see!
Omg, a guy sure loves that duct tape cup-holder..lmao!! hahaha, leg drag test, so cool!!
gotta property put each piece of equipment through it's paces you know
Derek you need a small solar battery trickler to keep battery charged no matter how long it sits on trailer
