Brilliant video mate. Car is lovely. I have one myself and need to change injector 3 as its stuck open. Gonna clean off the carbon too. I've 147kmiles on mine and mostly do city driving so I'd say there's tonnes of carbon build up on mine. Great video. Spotless car
Very smart to change the thermostat while having the intake manifold off. Anybody that's ever going to have the intake manifold of should do that on any iteration of the EA113 engine since those suckers aren't known for lasting ages.
@@overrungarage Having my GTI for 4 years now and having changed the thermostat in the first few months of the second year of owning it, i think my thermostat might already slowly start to go again. These days with it being fairly cold out the car takes quite a bit before hitting the middle in the temperature gage. Once the middle is reached it holds it perfectly fine (which is what matters the most) but till then, it'll probably take a little longer than it should.
@@overrungarage At what outside temperature? Mine actually doesn't take longer than that either so if the outside temperatures are similar on your end, mine seems fine considering your thermostat is new
@@andyseaton7895 it’s actually not really made any difference to noise especially cruising on the motorway and on idle. When giving it some it is deffo louder though!

Yeah absolutely car warms up loads quicker and for £40 can’t go wrong!

@@NoName-st6zc mine still takes around 7-10minutes of normal driving to get up to temp, previously it was 15-20!

Smashed it, looks amazing.
Cheers man!
Sounds nice that, I'm fitting a 3" cat back system made by gravity performance at the weekend, can't wait to get that on!
That will sound fantastic dude!
@@overrungarage I can't wait, I'm keeping the standard downpipe for now. Has the downpipe made yours much louder?

@@overrungarage that's good to hear. I'll report back once I've fitted the Gravity system.
Awesome video! Now if Joe could just open up a shop in British Columbia, Canada….that would be great 👍🏻
Sick build bro 🔥 Where did you buy the front number plate from please bro ?
The golf looks so much better than when you got it, 11mins on that intake is mad 😮
Waiting for stage 2 map 👍
Are you having the dsg mapped ?
Thankyou mate much appreciated, I know right couldn’t believe it 😂 I will be yeah, weather or not I do it at the same time is another story 👀
How do u keep the red so nice. My Mk6 paint is pealing.
11 minutes by two people is actually 22 minutes. I find oven cleaner to be the best way to clean all that carbon gunk off.
Bro how much was the labor cost for this? (Carbon cleaning and thermostat) i have the same car need same service ASAP!
Usually around £250 depending on the shop!
@@overrungarage the cheapest around my area was about $900.. not sure what that translates to your money but that's pretty expensive around here
what is that missfire at 00.57
Should of just done a runner flap delete
Heard Mixed reviews on the RFD on the ko3 turbo, JBM advised it actually has a negative effect on this setup. Perhaps if I go K04 in future !
