"Just start" is now my new motto! Wow, seriously thank you for making this video! This has helped me change my own perspective, my problem would've have been researching and then burning out before I had even started.
I wanted to learn how to play a song on the guitar, and my goal was to do it under a week. I've never touched an instrument with strings before, I can't read notes or anything but still, I did it. The key was satisfying myself with achieving small goals. Learn 1 or 2 chords and then connect them... 3...4... This gave me a shot of dopamine all the time which literally made me addicted to practicing playing. Sometimes when I took a break, and didn't play for a while, after the "nap time" I could play "perfectly" which I couldn't before burning out.

I haven't watched any of your recent videos (for 11-12 months or so) until today, but kept remembering the important tips. And they work! About a month ago I've signed up for a 10km run on June, 30th (5 weeks from now) and been training for couple of weeks, but didn't feel good about the progress. So I started practicing smarter: dropped the pace, started thinking about "now" more than "a kilometre away" and listening to myself, really properly tracking my progress, celebrating new records (HUGE help/motivator!!!) and sharing every success with a friend. I'm not a proper runner by any means, but over last 3 days ran 14,5km which feels great. Thank you for inspiration!
