- Dramatic dashcam footage shows the moment Arsenal star Joe Willock lost control of his top-of-the-range Mercedes-AMG G-class and swerved across the M25 sliproad, lost a tyre and skidded to a halt in bushes at the roadside. The crash took place his exit from the A1(M) motorway to join the busy M25 near South Mimms, Hertfordshire, on Saturday afternoon as he was on his way to Arsenal's London Colney training ground. The 'shaken' star started in the club's 0-0 draw with Leeds just 24 hours later.

In the wrong lane and driving too fast, especially for those conditions. He’s lucky he didn’t roll it. These things happen though, I hope he counts his lucky stars and learns from it. Glad he was alright and no-one else was hurt.

I've driven that junction and slip road many many times. There is nothing about the conditions or the speed that caused that accident.... he just failed to control the vehicle. It was caused by poor driving, I have no idea why, but there is absolutely no reason why that accident should have happened, other than his lack of ability or attention.
The road was probably wet, he went into the corner too fast and the front wheels lost traction resulting in understeer. From 0:07 to 0:10 you can actually see his front wheels turning into the corner more without the car following. Generally speaking that can be saved, but from the looks of this video he carried so much excess speed that recovery was almost impossible given the little room he had before hitting the curb, physics always win.
@@Dudeisthere Not true. He wasn't going too fast for that junction and he didn't lose traction and slide off the road... he simply didn't drive it. You're simply unfamiliar with that junction which is why you're making false presumptions. That 'line' that he took can easily be taken at 70-80mph even in wet conditions and he was not driving that fast, he was doing 50-60mph. At that junction, excessive speed that would cause a loss of traction and understeer would be 80mph+ and he was not going that fast.
He didn't understeer off the road, he basically drove in a straight line off the road. It was entirely his fault that he failed to stay on the tarmac.
@@Dudeisthere Poor driving ability. 0:07-0:09 brakes on, he took the brake off too early - he thought he was safe to drive out of the corner and he wasn't. At that point he was not sliding but momentum carried him to the outside and by the time he realized he tried to brake and applied too much steering. By that time it was too late because he just got it wrong.

Last minute exiting the junction at high speed...and braking hard while taking the corner at high speed..and of course that will happen. Slow down by taking feet of accelerator not braking - whilst try to straighten the car in a control manner not sudden change of steering wheel..

If he is using his phone in his left hand while driving his right is on the steering wheel and is pulling gently to the right.
