I was stopped in Washington for speeding last year. The cop took one look at my Czech drivers license and sighed. He said "I don't want to deal with this paperwork, so just don't speed".

You can drive up to 6 months on foreign license as a tourist from most countries and you need International drivers PERMIT if you are staying legally in the USA for more than 6 months and up to 1 year. After that you need local driving license that you can obtain based on your existing license or have to pass the written test and/or driving test depending what country you’re from.

You can drive up to 6 months on foreign license as a tourist from most countries and you need International drivers PERMIT if you are staying legally in the USA for more than 6 months and up to 1 year. After that you need local driving license that you can obtain based on your existing license or have to pass the written test and/or driving test depending what country you’re from.

The sergeant knew exactly what the officer’s protocol was, and it’s only because you had the ability-the balls, the wherewithal, the financial resources and backing-to call out the tyranny that it ended as well as it did.
