Much more expressive mid than I'm used to hearing in most of the xtra high gain amplification genre ! Very rock a la Malcolm and Angus if you pull back that gain. The fuzz was Iommi territory as well. Thanks for taking all these new amplifiers to full step down chug territory for 50+ year old guys like me, who think clean channels are for intros/outros and if your not cooking at least 5 x 12AX7's , you probably don't have a very firm handshake (just my opinion).
This is like my lottery dream amp, the one I'll never afford but if I could have it I'd take it in a heartbeat, still love the interview with Bill when he was talking about collaborating with friedman about the clean channel and friedman being like "but that's not what a clean channel is... "

The combo of the Fishmans and the Friedman makes for so much clarity I honestly don’t think I’ve ever heard anything like it. Great demo.

The song sounded amazing! Fantastic work Fluff! I like this a lot more than Brent's amp. So crushing and modern while still having the sludge that Mastodon needs. Controlled sludge.

Friedman should do a smaller version, like they did with just about every amp they do. Not gonna have the same chunk with lower watts, but In Friedman We Trust. It's gonna be killer anyway.

I had both the Butterslax and BE100 heads. Not much difference in the gain channels between the two. I kept the BE and sold the Butterslax on reverb. I would recommend getting the BE100 or BE50 from Friedman save money. With the Bill Kellihler model you’re only playing more for the name.

In my opinion would have really loved to see this thing cranked in drop A to really display some of the massively heavy metal tones this behemoth can put out, mabey in another video?

The more I see reviews of this amp the more I want one. Even if just to make my neighbours shit their pants.
I like very much the tones from the playthrough, but not as much the ones from the edited song. That "raw beast" kind of feeling got lost i.m.o. That said, beast of an amp. Maybe some less expensive or preamp pedal version would be best from most of us, but I get it.

Hey Fluff, what's your honest opinion on Laboga amps? I saw that you had two demos of their products, but none of their flagship metal amp (and something that I feel rivals a Dual Rec by providing a similar sound but with a tighter gain structure): the Mr. Hector.

When an amp costs more than 2k, you're just spending money to spend money. There's no reason a modern amp should be higher than 1,500 dollars nowadays.
Just get an EVH. Shit is way cheaper and sounds just as good. Best amp I've ever bought.
My guitarist has a 5150III and it kicks wholesale ass. It sounds so, so good. He financed it through Zzounds so he wouldn't have to pay for it all at once.
You guys miss the point. It's not about the hardware, it's about who build them.Freidman has to pay human to build them. A house is only wood and bricks, why so expansive? ...because humans design / build them.
No denying the Friedman are great sounding amps but what most miss is the cost of production. Production is ridiculously expensive on the west coast. Average home is over 1 million. Mr. Friedman prices his stuff accordingly.

I have a Quick Rod and a Nitro. They are excellent amps. I just had my Quick Rod modded by Jens Kruse and I have no desire for a Butterslax now.

yeah... not worth 4k for me, there's a lot of killer amps that can do the mastodon tone for under 1.5k like the splawn hot rod/mesa mk3 or 4 /marshall jcm800/jvm210/5153.
