Inspirational Painting Project 2 Leaves as the Source Material for Sketching and Painting Colourmix

Painting source material as a project always helps to inform my art practice and painting. Inspirations can be anything and in this series of project based paintings. Each month I am sharing a different subject to paint, which I hope will inspire and also get people painting. All the techniques are pretty easy and the way I paint which is kind of intuitive means that your paintings will always be different and unique even if you copy I feel the palette and colour mixing will make your work your own.
In this episode I am exploring leaves. I set out four examples on how to start and continue with different kinds of leaves. From sketching to gouache to acrylic paints. So grab brushes and have some fun. I am using my usual blue, yellow and reds but also I have a white and a couple of greens. The greens you can make if you dont have green.
I am using a no. 8 brush with a tip and a rigger brush, a blue pastel and a charcoal as well as a couple of watercolour pencils in green and orange.
New to the channel I am trying out some gouache and some Cryla acrylic paint, heavy body. I used water as I am using a sketchbook but you can use flow improver instead if you want.
