They've got this! We Buffalonians are a hearty people, truly snow-hardened. If anyone can handle 5+ feet of snow, it's Buffalo!!!!
77-78 blizzard. You can do it !
From New Orleans, La. Wishing y’all the strength
Hey that's a great ryhme!
Buffalonian is a really cool title
Definitely!! Stay safe ❤️😁❄️
Thats why as a trucker during the winter months I always try to keep extra food and water on the truck and try to keep fuel at 1/2 tank or better to run bunk heater and power
How do u get a job as a trucker in the U.S?
Be sure to bring condoms and lube --- you can enjoy the company of a lot lizard in your sleeper cab while you wait out a blizzard

Definitely! We have always taught to leave home prepared for anything in winter. Lynnwood Wa, suburb of Seattle, Wa. Walked into a store 1 evening & came out to an ice storm! Couldn't get into my car to get my tools to deal with! Lil Used keys, hands & blowing on it to get to the lock! Took a good while! Started out as an ice storm then turned to snow. Foolish people were rushing to get home & sliding everywhere! Come on people, slow starts slow stops you can't slide far!👍I already had my studs on, & rarely go anywhere unprepared so I faired better than many! But that storm came up quick!
No one has a job "worth it" to travel in this mess!
Employers, give your workers a break, they're just numbers to you anyway.
Stay in, stay safe!! 🤯😲

Well as a supervisor, I give respect to these employees that show up, and let them know that they are team players and how it benefits the company goals. I tell them if they show up, they will get a slice of pizza. And I let them know they will earn my respect if they cut their lunch breaks short and get back to work.
Nasty rich capitalist dont care about others
@@user-ci7vu7eo9w I give them a slice of pizza for showing up in a snow storm. I care.
@@Danny451 I know a boss like you. People called off, You sure, if you just drive slow you can make it 10 miles to work. What part of my Neighborhood is buried in snow and no one can get out without a Dog team. LOL
I grew up in the Niagara Falls area and in 1977 we had a snow storm that buried the lower level of the house. To get out we had go through a 2nd story window. Trying to get to the barns and sheds to feed the animals was a real task. We had to dig everything out by hand.
I actually just watched that a couple minutes ago, tha was wild
@@garychapin9095 we were out of town when it started on our way back the cops were shutting down the highways.
An officer allowed us through only because of the number of animals that would probably die. Being in the middle of nowhere we couldn’t get out for over a week when a huge dozer came down the road. He even dug out the 500 ft driveway for us. At one point they shut down the Rainbow Bridge and cut a section of the railing out so dump trucks could dump the snow from Niagara and Buffalo into the Niagara river.
Have had similar in Wa state, off the Puget Sound.
That's so wild.
That sounds fun!! ONce in an experience
Hello from Buffalo! I'm up bc of thunder & lightning within the snowstorm. We call it "thunder snow", only happens during the heaviest snowstorms. Started here around 8pm, snowplow have been down the street twice, all schools are closed & we're staying warm & bundled, hoping the power doesn't go out.
Ya I witnesses it once (maybe twice) but the first was definitely memorable. My friend and I braved the weather and went for coffee. We were the only ones out. The lightening was our cue to go home. Lol (in Canada... near Detroit)
i’m here in grand island and the the power on my street went out last night
Thundersnow is truly a blessing --- be sure to enjoy it because most people never experience it !!

I moved from new York about 6 months ago n this makes me miss home 🤣
Driving back from Los Angeles, I stopped at that Angola rest area on I-90 on Wednesday afternoon, and then drove through Buffalo and Niagara Falls, and everything was normal with green grass visible... What a difference a day makes!
Stay safe everyone. Always have 2 weeks worth of food and provisions in your home at all times.
I've had dates that lasted longer than two weeks.
Remember as a teenager driving in my VW beetle from Yonkers to Long Island at night in a snowstorm! I must of been crazy 😜
I grabbed all of the BREAD AND MILK that I could carry. Got to get the BREAD AND MILK. The BREAD AND MILK are the first to go when a storm is approaching. Get the BREAD AND MILK!

I Live in south buffalo .. I can't open my door this morning.. it's still coming down to .. but this isn't scary to us . I have been born and raised here and this is just one big storm no different then 2014, 2007 and 1977
This is what we do
Always get a kick out of pictures of people from Buffalo shoveling feet of snow while wearing shorts like it's no big deal.
I remember on the news one year long ago you guys burrowed tunnels in the snow.
Yeah it’s winter 😂
dont forget 2000 and 2001 blizzard
Y’all got this 🍻🍻🍻
It's crazy how much of an impact the lake effect snow has. I'm in VT, and when I heard about this, I thought for sure we were gonna get dumped on, but looking at the 10 day forecast, no snow until maybe next weekend.
Craziest thing is how localized it can be. I was in Cleveland for a Cavs game with my kids years back. Spent the entire day downtown. Got a few flurries maybe. Got back to our hotel 5 minutes away near midnight to a fresh 18". Literally clear sidewalks to buried in maybe a 500 yard stretch. One of the coolest things I've seen. In a 1 block span, cars went from untouched to unrecognizable. There was even a car lot where the first car was clear and the last one had about 6" on it.
I live near Buffalo and Erie and I’m shocked to see this. It’s clear out where I am right now. No winter storm.. we usually get a bit of the lake effect but not anything like this
I’m shocked about that as well, considering how close in proximity both states are to each other. I can’t stand all of that snow…ugh! I love Vermont though! ❤
@@clevelandcbisouth Buffalo is usually the line. Here in the north towns we got a couple inches. Some spots people got a dusting. My buddy lives in the thick of it and the snow is up to his gutter’s. Yeah it’s a ranch but that’s pretty impressive. And I’m on the other side of town with just a foot. Sucks to be him!

Dang. That’s more snow than snowmagedeon
No that’s just a regular winter day in Canada… Enjoy
Big cold west wind heading over Lake Erie basically drinks up the warmer temperature water in the lake and then dumps it in the form of snow when it hits the colder land mass at the east end of the lake...That's why Buffalo can get enormous snowfall when no one else does
Glad I moved to Mexico 🇲🇽 sunshine ever day
Back will hurt this week, but it's cool seeing purple lightning.
Im from Rochester NY and we definitely dodge this storm we are an hour away and got less than an inch this morning the sun its out,Buffalonians are tough people New York State are used to these big storms when they do come and lake effect snow.Stay warm and safe everyone,God bless!
Ya they dont cry for federal money like the southern weenie republicans do when it rains.
It is truly lake effect with the radar showing a stream of snow aimed at Buffalo but south of Rochester. To the west in Burlington Ontario we have no snow. It’s a narrow band.😊
Toronto never gets this amount of snow always just a few inches
Geez where I am in Victoria Australia its nearly summer and its been raining so much and temps down to 4.C overnight and daytime once was 13.C more like what we had middle of winter in July here. It should be dry and hot, some places are flooding so much. I have never seen snow here ever in my life its not cold enough heheh.

Just got the heck out of their yesterday afternoon from North Buffalo. Now visiting family in Virginia. So glad the storm didn’t show up until last night to give me some time to drive out of the area before the area completely shut down. Funny though, my family living in Buffalo says that they live for this & it’s nothing that they can’t handle. I was like my God, 4 feet of snow is more than I would want to handle & is the reason why I live in Florida lol
I'm in Town of Tonawanda, north of Buffalo and haven't been hit with it YET. Tomorrow it's coming this way. We do know how to handle it LOL and If you consider the long term damage due to tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, and hurricanes...I'll take snow any day!
Moved from Buffalo to New England 39 years ago. Would rather do a winter in New England than In Biffalo.

I moved from New York to Florida. I like to tell the local yokels how much I miss the snow back home.

When freedom cries this too we pray
That men will rise, risk life & Limb
For, Family, Country but most for HIM
It's He who formed us by His Design

All men, no matter how poor or rich
Great or not were equally stitched
Made in His Image, both mind and Soul
To perform His will for the good of the Whole

Stand up give Thanks for those who cant
Those who've died to give voice to rant
Ever thankful for your rights by blood
Thus Use it wisely for this they stood

Tis Now our turn, our fight to realize
Freedom's cost tis always born in strife
It's price is life and Sacrifice
Remember and pause for all those before
They were first with less, did more
This Flag we salute, this idea we cling
It's for this idea we stand and sing

Lake effect magnefys the storms as they head over the great lakes. I live in mid Ohio and there isn't a single flake of snow here

I live in Pike Buffalo and 2014 when we got that 6 ft of snow I was stuck on the Thruway with my stepdad and his truck we were driving and then we couldn't drive anymore it was bad. But it's Buffalo where I live we get tons of snow every year we get more snow than Buffalo usually does but it's bad this year because the lakes are not frozen. The lakes are unusually warm and that makes for a really bad lake effect snow. We'll get through it we always do I have family that lives in Buffalo and Niagara falls and Grand Island and it just happens. Seeing people off of the road in a ditch because of the snow is not uncommon all winter around here it happens all winter people go off the road in a ditch. Some of the tow trucks won't go get cars that are in a ditch until after the snow storm stops so they will get people and they will take the car out after the snow stops especially on the 400 from Buffalo to east Aurora it gets bad..hope everyone stays safe and warm..and please remember to check your carbon monoxide detectors and put batteries in and if you don't have one when the store opens up again get one this time of year and you can get carbon monoxide poisoning and die easily. Stay warm everybody we're in for a long weekend

Awwww, you're so sweet. I'm North of Buffalo so as of Friday 6:30pm I only have 3 inches of snow. Tomorrow it's hitting my area. Yes, it's cold but the key is to stay off the roads. It's when cars get stuck and streets are lined with abandoned vehicles, the the plows and salters can't get through to clear the snow and emergency vehicles can't get through. But we stock up on food, pray our pipes don't freeze and burst (crank up the heat and leave faucets dripping) and help our neighbors snow blow/shovel out cars and sidewalks, sometimes you have to shovel off low pitch roofs but we know how to handle it. We don't get near the damage that a flood, hurricane, earthquake or tornadoes leave in their wake. We're "Buffalo Strong"!
4 feet!!! Good Lord!!!
