    You have a unique way of pouring your paint onto the canvas. I sometimes wish you would not move the paint at all, because the canvas looks really good before you do. Would you consider trying to make a painting that way?

    • @MelyDartist
      @MelyDartist  7 років тому

      Carol Wiebe I enjoy the effects and the learning process of moving around the paint. I learn something every time :) not moving it looks kinda dull to me but you can try it out if you want!

    Past wonderful.....how many days does it take to dry?? Does the canvas make a difference??(expensive vs.cheap?)

    • @MelyDartist
      @MelyDartist  7 років тому

      kathleen strode it takes about 1 day to dry depending on how much paint you have on there. Unless you mean cheap like Dollar store cheap, I don't think there is a different in drying time between a regular or gallery canvas. It does make a difference if you use different products though. Some take longer to dry. Just water and acrylic with the quantity I put takes about 24h max.

  • @LoudBeatsYou
    @LoudBeatsYou 7 років тому +1

    I'm new here :D why do you choose to mix with water for some and medium and water for others? Is it because of the brand of acrylic or because you for instance want one color to make more cells? :)

    • @MelyDartist
      @MelyDartist  7 років тому

      It's mostly because of the brand. When the paint is cheap, the pigments unbine from all the water. The Pouring medium helps with that. And other reasons also but that's the main one

  • @deblily3446
    @deblily3446 7 років тому

    Fantastic! When you talk about sizes, I assume you are talking metric sizes? Can you tell me what size you most like to use in inches?

    • @MelyDartist
      @MelyDartist  7 років тому

      Deb Lily this one was 30"×15" and I like 20"×16" or 24"×18" Mostly because of the quantity of paint it takes and the canvas is easy to move around.

    • @deblily3446
      @deblily3446 7 років тому +1

  • @waynenothe2080
    @waynenothe2080 7 років тому

    Mely - You should consider using better paint. The paints you are using are craft paints. They are cheaper in price, but have very little pigments, if any at all. You need pigments in the paint for the painting to sustain longevity, especially if you are selling any of your fluid-pouring paintings. Just trying to be helpful !

    • @MelyDartist
      @MelyDartist  7 років тому +1

      I know all of this Wayne :) I chose it purposely to show that I preferred this brand only for the orange. I have not liked the results with the orange from other brands, although I have only tried about 4. As you might have seen, the orange got lost a lot and it's because of the same reason you have just explained. Cheap paint - Cheap results!
      Do you know of a good brand for orange besides Golden High Flow?
