I really love this one. Orange has been my favorite color almost all my life too. Certainly since a little girl and I'm almost 60 years old now. This is truly lovely!
I loved how this looked before the reactions started and I loved it even more after it changed. Holy cow. This colour combo with the shimmery addition to the orange is so gorgeous!
Oooh, this is really incredible! When I was a small child orange was my favourite colour. I think that was my truest favourite, before I became highly influenced by everything being thrown at us in the media. I didn’t think I was still so fond of the colour orange but, this is really speaking to me. Or rather, it’s yelling at me “Look at me, I’m gorgeous!” 👌💖💕
MelyD you did again. This loose, free flowing style puts me in a trance. I get so excited when the little cells pop up. You've opened my eyes to an unrestrictive form of expression. Its been 15 years since I've touched paint. Btw, Xbox has been a lifesaver for when I want to grab a little time to myself to experiment. Keep it up!! Loooooove it!
MelyD.artist thank you Mely. For whatever reason I just assumed you might not reply and so asked one of your followers :-) Thank you for the video, I'm so inspired by this form of expression!
This is beautiful!!! I'm not a fan of orange but this is so earthy looking I would hang this where I could see it all the time. What an inspiration Mely. Thank you so much for sharing you technique.
So nice of you to say that :) And I just sold it last week! You can check some out here if you want melydartist.com/ Thanks again I am so happy to inspire. Lotsa love
I have to say that I truly love this style . It’s beautiful art. I try orange often and have to really watch what I mix with it, because it has a tendency to cause muddy looks.
This might be your best one yet! Thanks for all the time you take and instructions in these videos. You have been a wonderful teacher. I hope 2017 is a fabulous year for you.
It was a Monarch butterfly before...and then it was a Monarch butterfly afterwards! Another great pour! Love the addition of the oil based ink. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Mely!
You have really inspired me. I now have a roomful of acrylic pours - need more wall space. Next I'll try using the Prisme as I have a stock from making pendant jewellery. Thank you for your videos.
Just wanted you to know that I did my 1st one today with this technique and it's been 1/2 hour and it's so amazing. That hour drive I did yesterday to buy the white artist's loft paint was so worth it. And I took a before photo so I can show my hubby.. Very cool. Thank you so much. =)
Mel, I really love the view at the end. Just an idea next time you do one. At the end go slow with the camera and stop on some detailed cells make that last at least 3 minutes or more! Its just so beauful I have to pause it to stare, there is so much beauty on the detail to look at!!!
Lovely work! I'm so into these colours. I really like your videos, they give a lot of inspiration since i've recently started with fluid painting myself. Still a lot to learn so thanks for the great vids!
love, love your work!!!! will try when i have a open air situation..your work inspired me to try fluid/pouring with finger nail polish great results but fumes got the best of me..thank you, wonderful talent
Hi Mely from Perth Western Australia. I am struggling but not giving up yet. I am not complaining but for such as me who are hearing impaired a list of colours & quantities used in the description box would be very helpful. Often the lightening is not good enough for old eyes to quickly read the labels u are showing. As an old duck I like to try all the new stuff an u do a wonderful job. Happy new year!!!
So Kindly asked I will do so from now on :) I am also working on better lighting as I know it is pretty bad. One of my goals for 2017 is to make better videos. Happy painting and happy new year!
This is my absolute favorite so far because of the way the paints have reacted. I also like the earth tone colors. I am glad you used the prisme because I have a lot of bottles and I was hoping it would create effects with the other paints. Have you used acrylic inks yet? I was thinking of using those with the pouring medium as an extender as well as creating effects. thanks for sharing. always look forward to your videos.
Bonjour Mely. J'adore ce que tu fais c'est génial et je voudrais essayer de me lancer mais j'avoue que je ne sais pas par ou commencer Peux tu me donner des petits conseils s'il te plait. Merci et Bravo
Dear MelyD, may I ask why you mixed the black with puring medium AND water and the white just with water? I love the result you achieve in the end...just stunning. thank you for sharing and making such wonderful pieces!!
not only do i love watching your videos, I love listening to you. Im from Kentucky so everyone else has an accent. haha you said you put pouring medium and water in black, white was only water, what about the orange and burnt sienna? do you put silicone in your pours? still trying to get that perfect consistency so i can get cells. Hope your 2017 is off to a great start. Keep pouring and sharing, you have no idea just how much you inspire us. You gave me another way to create without having to hold a paintbrush (which is difficult for me right now). Thank you
Hey patricia, thanks for your kind words they are much appreciated. This is a while back but I'm pretty sure I only diluted the other colors with water. No I do not add silicone. I hope to make many more paintings and so glad I can inspire some :)
I'm loving your videos! Wish I could see your paintings in person! Do you have a site where you sell? Suggestion, if I may, that if you have an Etsy site or other store, please post a link in the description :) Thanks again!
Happy New Year from Vancouver Island. Absolutely love your work. Your videos are great and it is not as easy as it looks to get the cells. Do you always add some pouring medium to one of the mixtures? Cheers!
I added pouring medium to the black because I didn't want the white to mix with it and create grey. You are not the first to say this but keep practicing and you will get it! Happy New Year canadian friend!
WOW! You are amazing!!!! These paintings are great & great color choices every time. So after watching a few of yours, does the liquid medium or the water make the acrylic paint cell? OR is it the pebeo stuff? - Keep it up!!!!!!
Erika Hicks thank you so much! it's actually the process altogether that creates the cells. Consistency and moving it around so the different densities intertwine
New sub! Loving your work! Thank you for sharing details, brands and tricks, it means so much when an artist want to share instead of keeping everything secret. Did you mix with water or medium here? Recently started playing with resin which is super fun too :D
Stunning as always. Question though: I've been playing with the Prisme also but was told not to mix it with acrylic because it could separate down the road. ANy problems with that yet?
It takes practice! It took me a while to discover how to make them. Get to know your paints and try obtaining the same consistency throughout them all.
Do you do anything with the "extra paint" that pours/falls off your canvas? If I was there, I would be sponging on papers for the start of painted layers. I don't like to waste any paint.
Talk about ending the year on a high note!! This is totally eye-catching!
I really love this one. Orange has been my favorite color almost all my life too. Certainly since a little girl and I'm almost 60 years old now. This is truly lovely!
I have learned SO MUCH from watching your instructional videos! Thanks so much!! And... your work is fantastic! Cheers!!
Turned out great. Love your videos. Very inspirational. Keep pouring in 2017 🎨
I loved how this looked before the reactions started and I loved it even more after it changed. Holy cow. This colour combo with the shimmery addition to the orange is so gorgeous!

This is stunning! I have been watching your videos for a couple of days. I have learned so much. Thank you...thank you....thank you!!!
I'm glad your year has been awesome, may 2017 be filled with joy.
Thanks Monica! Happy new year!
MelyD you did again. This loose, free flowing style puts me in a trance. I get so excited when the little cells pop up. You've opened my eyes to an unrestrictive form of expression. Regina Coates wow thank you so much!!! lotsa love
@Regine Coates Can you please explain how the little cells popping up happen? Is that some kind of reaction or the paint just does that?
it's the process all together. The different densities intertwine when moved around with the right consistency
MelyD.artist thank you Mely. For whatever reason I just assumed you might not reply and so asked one of your followers :-) Thank you for the video, I'm so inspired by this form of expression!
I just loved the way these mediums and paints work together. I cant wait to try them. thank you so very much for sharing.
Thanks and my pleasure!
wow. looks like a sheet of marble! Fabulous technique and excellent control.
I don't even like orange and I love this. Thank you for sharing your process!
This is beautiful!!! I'm not a fan of orange but this is so earthy looking I would hang this where I could see it all the time. What an inspiration Mely. Thank you so much for sharing you technique.

Love your work. It looks so much like the awesome colors and patterns we see in sedimentary rock, or star clusters. Gorgeous.
You have really inspired me. I now have a roomful of acrylic pours - need more wall space. Next I'll try using the Prisme as I have a stock from making pendant jewellery. Thank you for your videos.

LOVE it!!!
Yes, it’s beautiful. I’ve noticed that you pour a lot of the paint off. I don’t know what that means, but your art always turns out great.
Love this!

Dear MelyD,
may I ask why you mixed the black with puring medium AND water and the white just with water?
I love the result you achieve in the end...just stunning. thank you for sharing and making such wonderful pieces!!
I was experimenting :) And thank you so much!
absolutely gorgeous....what is it that makes the cell formations? I love that part!
not only do i love watching your videos, I love listening to you. Sage K thank you so much! I do have a website melydartist.com/ lotsa love !
Lovely.
Love this! The cell action is awesome. Are the cells a result of having equal viscosity paints? Thank you for posting.
Awesome, what did you say the shiny was GOLD
Beautiful
I love this , thank you :)
That looks amazing, love the gold cells. Where do you sell your work? Thanks for sharing your talent.
dorothysfriend thank you so much! I sell from my website melydartist.com
Happy New Year from Vancouver Island. Absolutely love your work. Your videos are great and it is not as easy as it looks to get the cells. Do you always add some pouring medium to one of the mixtures? Cheers!

Marie Olsen omg I just saw this! I mix some paints with pouring medium and water and others just with water. Thank you so much!
I really don't care for orange but I love that paint. Simply beautiful. Do you resin your work after it's dry? Mine dries and looks so dull
I sometimes resin and sometimes spray varnish
Чудово!
Hi Mely, can you tell me How can I stop my paintings stop from cracking, thanks love your paintings
Stunning as always.
Question though: I've been playing with the Prisme also but was told not to mix it with acrylic because it could separate down the road. ANy problems with that yet?
Seems like the separation is what makes the beautiful cells. Then it dries, so I don't see why you could not do this. Just my 2 cents.
What a wonderful piece......... :) Is the moon prism from Pebeo....???....I love the color selection....
Yes it is and thank you!
I tried this method for the first time. I love it but didn't get any cells. Do you possibly know why? I love your work and your videos. Thank you.
It takes practice! It took me a while to discover how to make them. Get to know your paints and try obtaining the same consistency throughout them all.
