- There is some debate as to whether with Spirit baptism (mentioned 11 times in the NT), the Holy Spirit is the agent of baptism or the medium of baptism. While viewing the Holy Spirit as the agent of Spirit baptism is a grammatical possibility in some texts, such as the key text of 1 Corinthians 12:13, the four earliest references to Spirit baptism (Mt 3:11, Mk 1:8, Lk 3:16, Jn 1:33) predict that Christ is the one who does the action of baptizing in (en) the Spirit, parallel to John baptizing in (en) water, thus identifying the Spirit as the medium of the baptism.
However, regardless of whether one takes the Spirit to be the agent or medium, the results are clearly articulated in 1 Corinthians 12: Spirit baptism unites all believers to Christ from the moment of their salvation and forevermore.

Thank you for speaking truth. I do not understand why Charismatics think if you don’t speak tongues, you’re not baptized by the Spirit.
Because it is a deception wielded by the enemy.

Just wondering about this, as a friend used the term regarding a family member. Perfect timing!
A few years ago i was out preaching with a Gospel sign and this young guy came up and said," Oh, this is what He has YOU doing."
I was puzzled by this and tried to pry a bit to figure this guy out.
Shortly, he admitted he spoke in tongues. I had never before talked to anyone doing this, but had my suspicions about the source (being possibly demonic).
But, all i could think to say was, "Why?"
He said, "I dont know. I can't help it...i just do."
He seemed to me to have a bad attitude...almost arrogant.
I briefly told him how i had been convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit and experienced having massive change of mind to desire Christ more than willful sin.
He said that the Spirit fell on him in his living room and told him, "You belong to me now."
From that very day ive been convinced its demons getting inside people.

We are baptized into one body through the Spirit by regeneration. We are united in Christ because we share a common nature like His. Is not Spirit baptism then another name for the new birth, aka regeneration aka receiving a new heart? And isn't the medium that the Spirit uses the water of the Word of God? Cf Ez. 36:25-27, John 3:5-8, 4:10, 7:37-39, 2 Cor. 5:17, Titus 3:5
Yes, but this does not contradict what he’s saying. It is the “washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5). But God also says He pours out, in the name of Jesus, His Spirit on us (Joel 2:28, John 14:26). It’s so that the medium the Father uses is the Holy Spirit in the name of the Son through His word, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. The word is not so much the medium, as it is the means.
You have to dismiss one if there are two .
Even those people that only knew of John’s baptism
We’re rebaptized when knew the fulfillment of Jesus.
John baptism was for repentance
Jesus’s was for remission as though sin did not exist even in God’s eyes,
Roman 6 explain a physical action just like the eunuch.

Christ had to fulfill all! ( perfect life, death/ sacrifice, burial, resurrection and ascension) For Jesus to be in Heaven as our mediator. We know the promised , that the Comforter was to give total recall.
We also know, Jesus said He gave the keys to the kingdom to Peter. He preached the first evangelistic sermon with fulfillment in place.1 Cor. 1:21 Acts 2;14 . Those Jews in Jerusalem, which
possibly shouted crucify him, were cut to the hearts and asked , “ Asked what must we do”
The answer was repent and be baptized “ vs 38. 3000 gladly accepted vs 40.
The Ethiopian eunuch asked , what he must do, the reply was here is water, and both went out into it. Roman 6 , 1 Peter 3;21 as so water is mentioned. To become a new creature in Christ.
Disciples Baptizing in the name of …, Gal. 3;26- 29 .
Please don’t make assumptions, there is only one possible conclusion, Water baptism and spiritual baptism happen at the same time. Or in the church there are two baptisms.
Scripture can not be wrong , and we are asked to do something unnecessary!
