Dave's voice is really interesting. He can hit high notes and can have a low growl. But it seems like it can fit all together. Its awesome.
He always sounded like Keith Morris if that guy could sing to me
Dave's singing isn't anything to write home about, he's really monotone live, which is more telling than a studio recording. Don't take this the wrong way, he's a great musician, but Dave's voice is about the snarl, not so much about his range.
@@clonedsheep6080 I've always wondered, what is Dave Mustaine's voice type and rank? it would have been great to hear Dave do black metal shrieks
Lowkey sexy ngl
Vocal production on CTE is the best in Megadeth’s career.
I just can't get enough of late 80's early 90's metal. Just the best
Try Alter Bridge
Yep Im a big fan. I like the Tremonti solo stuff a little more I think.
buzzsaw63 dude 60's, 70's, and early 80's metal is good too.
buzzsaw63 This is real metal all the new metal is crap I don't even call it real music any more
The height of thrash metal! Good ol' days.
song about financial crisis from over 20 years ago. Mustaine's lyrics still relevant today.
+William u know what, this kind of vague 'society' topic will always be "relevant" as there's nothing specific. Large scale capitalism will always have some financial crisis. Everone can't win.
+Daniel Simon true
+William Actually Ellefson wrote this song.
This is a bullshit joke though,sorry..
+William Totally true to this day.
One of the best metal writers of all time.
His Voice is Amazing here.
Bow down to the master🤘🏻🤘🏻

this is the best lineup at their peak. This album is a masterpiece and this song is even more relevant now.
Gar Samuelsson on drums would make it the best.

Mustaine is my favorite guitarist and songwriter of all time honestly. He is so damn amazing at capturing the essence of the message he is conveying on all fronts of the bands music. Honestly you cant find better musicianship from anyone else (in my opinion anyway). Heavy metal is plagued with talent, which is why i live the genre. but Megadeth is my favorite, they take the cake for me. Long live Megadeth

Very nice! Yeah, Dave has walked a long journey and isn't done for sure!

The tractor in this video is a 1984 Case 4994. A very uncommon model. Very few were made. It’s just funny out of all the tractors in the world, that one was in it! Being into farming an heavy metal, I notice stuff like that lol
Not only pretty uncommon but an absolute brute..if you can be so lucky..good eye
Not into farming but I can appreciate this.

Heavy metal farmers for the win!
LYRICS: Rise so high, yet so far to fall
A plan of dignity and balance for all
Political breakthrough, euphoria’s high
More borrowed money, more borrowed time
Backed in a corner, caught up in the race
Means to an end ended in disgrace
Perspective is lost in the spirit of the chase
Foreclosure of a dream
Those visions never seen
Until all is lost, personal Holocaust
Foreclosure of a dream
Barren land that once filled a need
Are worthless now, dead without a deed
Slipping away from an iron grip
Nature’s scales are forced to tip
The heartland cries, loss of all pride
To leave ain’t believing, so try and be tried
Insufficient funds, insanity and suicide
Foreclosure of a dream
Those visions never seen
Until all is lost, personal Holocaust
Foreclosure of a dream
The congress will push me to raise the taxes and I’ll say
“No, read my lips…”
Now with new hope some will be proud
This is no hoax, no one pushed out
Receive a reprieve and be a pioneer
Break new ground of a new frontier
New ideas will surely get by
No deed or dividend, some may ask, “Why?”
You’ll find the solution, the answers in the sky
Rise so high, yet so far to fall
A plan of dignity and balance for all
Political breakthrough, euphoria’s high
More borrowed money, more borrowed time
Foreclosure of a dream
Those visions never seen
Until all is lost, personal Holocaust
Foreclosure of a dream
Foreclosure of a dream
Those visions never seen
Until all is lost, personal Holocaust
Foreclosure of a dream
Holocaust
This is like real poetry, linear story that has a lyric that directly foreshadows the next pre verse or verse depending on if the next part is a pre chorus or a verse!
It's probably best to view it as verse chorus verse chorus verse solo verse
Exatamente oque o Lula faz!!!!!!!!
Mr. Mustaine was indicting Republicans and “greedy” capitalists with the lyrics, but ironically most of the lyrics are much more applicable to the Democrats and other leftists of America.
In retrospect, I’ll agree with Mr. Mustaine that Bush 43 was something of a stinker.
I love the way Dave raises the final note to the major 3rd of the key...it gives a sense of optimism and hope after all the frustration and anger. (Bonus music theory: Bach did that a lot--raising the minor third at the very end up to a major third...called a Piccardy Third. There, now you can win at Jeopardy.)
I did a learn! Self taught musician thanks you random interwebnets person
He indeed is a lyrical and a musical genius

Debatable, the music was stronger but the musicianship of some of the other musicians later on are phenomenal. Kiko and Friedman are the baddest leads he ever had.
not without gar... lol
We all have to admit Dave Mustaine makes killer riffs and lyrics that describe the fucked up American Society.
Noah Szymborski Not just the American society
Im NOAH Oh yeah! Watched a couple of interviews he did with Alex Jones. Dave has hit it on the head about the Presidency, Fed, Congress, and the We The People.
Im NOAH Oh yeah! Watched a couple of interviews he did with Alex Jones. Dave has hit it on the head about the Presidency, Fed, Congress, and the We The People.
He should run for pres. No Bullshit
We have been saying that since the mid 80's. He won't run for any public office. I think he'd rather take a stand with his guitar in his hand.
This album was ahead of its time. Most of the songs of this album can relate to now.

And today even louder because we are facing the same "savings and loan" crisis.
These guys back then didn't know how good they had it. At least their crooks were intelligent crooks. We're ruled by greedy potatoes.
Mustaine deserves extra credit for bothering to write thoughtful lyrics that touch on real world problems, not just the heavy metal fantasy world.
Lol wth is metal fantasy world?
@@kikocacala7466 LOL I'm sure he's referring to a lot of power metal bands that wright about being a viking or a pirate ect. You know bands such as Iron Maiden and so on.
A lot other bands come to mind that also cover content of real-world situations that are still relevant today even more so. Kreator ,Tesament, Slayer, Sepultura. Just to name a few they've been warning us what we're going through right now for decades. But as usual nobody listens. Good luck everybody and God bless.

Mustaine is a lyrical genius! He writes songs that are true through many generations. Another reason why they will always be my favorite
The biggest thing about Mustaine is that he has a strong distain for the government. And he's been talking about that since the Peace Sells album.
Sad that this song still rings true 20 years later. ✌🏼

Even more true nowadays than when he first said that decades ago.
Dave Mustane is hands down the best songwriter in the metal genre 💯👍🏻
True that
R.I.P. and THANK YOU, Nick Menza!
Hands down, their best song. I remember buying the cassette single back in 1992 and listening to it non-stop for months. Great tune.
I’m with you on that one. My mom got me the cassette tape for my birthday in November and I think this album came out in August of that year so I got it a little early. It was my first metal cassette tape and I still have the original one.
This song just keeps getting more relevant even 20 years later... Will it ever end?
Jacob Bacchus as long as tax dollars are confiscated? never.
Only if we end it
History doesn’t stop for the present - we are still affected by historical events that happened 200+ years ago. The beat goes on and we feel the reverberations of it. It probably only seems more relevant now because the older you get the more you notice how repetitive history is and how it permeates into the current culture... for example, how white supremacy movements and terrorism has always been boiling under the surface in the United States after the Emancipation of Black Slaves, then Jim Crow Laws and segregation... sorry. But hey, at least the more aware you are the more you can change your own behaviours to try to not contribute to mass consumption, hate propaganda and extremism. Same goes with the Industrial Age still affecting how we presenting demand easier accessibility to fast fashion, fast housing and plastics due to the ability to make things cheaply - regardless over the long term impacts or whether it is unethical... it all is linked.
Look at how in the 1950’s until now how often people would purchase new furniture, like couches, to fit into the current trends when before then it was more common for the average person to pass down objects or purchase objects of a higher quality. Since the 1980’s, especially, you see how as the decades go on - the more cheaply things are made. That is why, I think - Midcentury Modern furniture is having a resurgence because it was the last of the common person’s quality furniture pieces. Much of it was still being made with actual wood unlike now where everything is made with particleboard or plastic. This might seem a bit off to mention but, when you consider that it is a minor reflection of how people have accelerated need to _keep up with the Kardashians, or Jenners_ people are more inclined to spend money they don’t have and buying objects that won’t serve them years down the road because they are chasing the Dream constructed for them by consumption and greed - a greed that is encouraged. They don’t make things to last because they want return customers - hence why electronics like phones aren’t made with the intention of lasting.. and made by child labour, or indentured labour.
When you look at the reasons why society shifts their perceptions on things, like trends, or trying to mirror the affluent - you have foreclosure of dreams. Capitalism - much like Socialism, isn’t good when at extremes. It was Andy Warhol who discussed why consumption was steadily heading in this direction, commenting about how anyone could obtain things like Coke Cola which people of a certain wealth also could enjoy - and that where we still are. Why we have McMansions that were poorly built, essentially match stick houses - and sold for huge prices to people who couldn’t afford it and thought they’d be able to sell their homes for more than they bought it - then you see a huge fall in that market. These homes, The can of pop you have in the fridge and the iPhone I am typing on are all contributing to the overwhelming notion that things aren’t changing nor have changed. It is just at, again, a seemingly accelerated rate.
I link this to governments using the working class as pons for their ultimate gains - such as allowing banks to loan to people clearly not able to afford loans, using sanctions on goods like grains for their alternative motivations... it sucks man.
And that is my unwarranted rant on a 2 year old comment you likely forgot you made.
So do their music
rj zander The song was written about David Ellefson’s family’s farm that went into foreclosure due to policies by Ronald Reagan during the early 80’s that pushed out family owned farms because of a surplus and market crash. It touches on the idea that the powerful remain powerful and the working class are disposable meanwhile insisting that the _American Dream_ is alive simultaneously blaming the working class for “not pulling up their bootstraps”. We still feel the impact of policies made 100 years, much less 40 years ago - in any case, the way our society currently operates on hasn’t changed. History has a habit of repeating itself, essentially and therefore this song speaks not only about this singular incident but of the struggles of all working class people. ... and that is why the song is still relevant and will continue to be for a very, very, very long time.
I think that is what I was getting at - but, I dunno. I was tired and frustrated when I wrote the comment. I think it reads fine despite some unfortunate grammar or spelling errors, although a little THE SKY IS FALLING but that was how I was feeling at the time.
Also, I don’t really think this has anything to do with a supposed “Jew Matrix” or conspiracies. Just how societies have operated throughout history - no matter the creed, race or religion. I don’t really follow what you are talking about - sorry, Thank you for the reply.
One of the greatest Rock songs of all times!!!!! “Perspective is lost in the spirit of the chase “. A song with a very deep political and social meaning. It was still 1992 when Metal mattered back at the time....

The whole Album is fantastic, my first Concert as a teen Megadeth + Pantera back in the days 1992! Unforgettable! Marty's Solo at 3:24 is beyond ev'rything. Art!
Hear the solo at half speed and behold the genius of Marty, there is NO guitar cliches, even the pentatonic licks have a special twist to em. He was bent on writting the best solos he could. What a master
He left METALLICA in the dust,,,,,,,, guys ooosing with talent,,, Never underrate Dave he's Smart as hell...
He didn't left... He's fired.. But the good thing is he made megadeth.
I would agree he wrote way better music without metallica they really went down hill. Its sad to say that because they were probably my favorite metal band when I was getting into playing guitar. Then Pantera came along and I quit keeping up with metallica. But have always listened to megadeath from the beginning.Would also like to say that the latest album Metallica released was the best one in a long time.
