Some crazy stage diving in this video, if this video was recorded today every fucker would be just standing there with their mobile phone filming, how i miss the old thrash days.

+Harry Callahan fucking true dude
+Гриша Николаев right
+Harry Callahan You're not going to the right shows or seeing them then. I've seen Parkway Drive and a few other metal bands live and all of the shows have crazy mosh pits and people stage diving. There are people on their phones, but it's still crazy.
+CoDisafishy it doesn't matter that he's not going to the right concert he means any concert would be the right concert because back then it was all fucking crazy now it's just people standing around
I'm bored so I'm gonna be ranking stage dives
0:01 Pretty solid, bit of a fumble but still pretty good 4.5/5
2:08 Solid landing onto the crowd, a bit boring but well done 4/5
2:13 Really solid landing and bonus points for landing on his feet 4.5/5
2:15 Excellent dive, but he missed the landing terribly (hope he's ok) 2/5
2:29 The cannonball, those are a bitch to try and catch but he still did alright 2.5/5
3:00 (Guy in front of Dave) Good jump, a cannonball but the crowd were still able to catch him 4.5/5
3:00 (Front flip) Now that's a dive! Not only did he nail the flip but the crowd were able to catch him 5/5
3:00 (1st white shirt) Pretty alright dive, crowd caught him, probably landed on his feet 3.5/5
3:00 (2nd white shirt) Couldn't see the full thing but it seemed a bit awkward but alright 3/5
3:02 Not much of a dive, but a solid mini cart wheel 2/5
3:10 Again not much of a dive but it seemed meh 2/5
3:13 A low angle dive, very hard to pull off but he did good 3.5/5
3:14 Excellent jump, couldn't see the full thing but I'm sure he stuck the landing 3.5/5
3:15 Good dive, a bit of a fumble but he seemed to stuck the landing 3/5
3:19 Pretty sure its the same guy from 3:02 lol but it seemed like a decent dive but awkward landing 2.5/5
3:33 Another cannonball but he landed it 3/5
3:40 The side dive! Risky, but fun. Couldn't see the full thing but it seemed alright 2.5/5
3:43 Another side dive, tons of air, and stuck the landing! 4.5/5
3:52 (Flannel) Really awkward, fumbled and didn't stick the landing 1/5
3:52 (Baseball shirt) Good height and good jump and stuck the landing 3.5/5
3:52 (White shirt in the back) A good side dive but didn't stick the landing 3/5
3:52 (Boots) Seemed decent but couldn't see the whole thing 2.5/5
3:53 (White shirt) An alright side dive, awkward landing but still pretty alright 3/5
4:01 (Blue pants) Awkward landing and got consumed alive lol but it was alright 2.75/5

4:07 Good dive/mini crowd surf, and then he got eaten alive lol 3.5/5
4:20 That was fucking awesome! Good height, good air, good flip! 5/5
4:23 A textbook dive, good landing and good dive 3/5
4:28 An ok dive seemed like they landed it tho 2.5/5
4:38 (Black shirt) Awkward fall but wasn't their fault 2.5/5
4:38 (Jean Jacket) Man must suck being in the middle of that tornado but again awkward fall but not their fault 2.5/5
4:38 (Baseball shirt) That was fucking dope! Did like a kicking jump, and it seems he landed it 5/5

SoundtracksandMore lmfao that's a good one. Still one of my favorite groups
It's a young man's game. Megadeth were so young, the audience was so young. The energy was over the top. What a time.
best era
The adrenaline then would’ve been uncontrollable ✅
Dave was gem of the era
Although I'm pretty sure the crowd is staged. By the look of the people and the intensity, I'd say it's a punk/metal crossover crowd, one that you would typically find at a DRI or Suicidal Tendencies show in the 80s, not Megadeth.
@@dr.juerdotitsgo5119I would beg to differ. Those who showed up to a Megadeth show at this time most certainly had this energy.
This song is the emblem of every loner, every drug addict, every desperate and abandoned person on this world. It is the mirror of the soul of every being on the planet
Yeah we all go thru the darkest hour at some point.
It's a tribute to Cliff.
@@jeffrobagman2834 every song can have its own meaning to different listeners ie like hollow or one by metallica
@@Truelies0630 Certainly a song can mean different things to different people. Dave Mustaine is on record as saying it's a tribute to Cliff though.
I think of it more as a description of depression and suicidal thoughts, "things will be better when i'm dead and gone" describes the feeling of the whole song
Vocal/Guitar - Dave Mustaine
Bass - David Ellefson

One of the greatest metal songs ever written and recorded, in my humble opinion. When a song can make you headbang, get pissed, and want to cry and tell your family how much you love them all at the same time....you got something special.
This literally is the best description of the song.

Much agreed, there's a lot of hetfield clones out there but Mustaine's voice is unique just like Ozzy's.

Important fact:
The melody was for Cliff and the lyrics for Dave’s ex girlfriend :)
For me, this ranks as Megadeths greatest ever composition. It may not have the aggressiveness of other Megadeth songs from Rust In Peace/Peace Sells but its unrivalled imo in the way its layered and structured from its Hard Rock opening to its Thrash Metal ending after the 'I walk alone into the promised land' lyrics. Its a gem of a track in what is a really underappreciated album.
Yup, best megadeth song from lyrics and composition and i love the album.
I was a huge megadeth fan, listened to their whole discography and listened solely to megadeth everyday. Then I moved to dream theatre and king crimson and got addicted to the complex structures and deep meaning of the lyrics. In that stage I got bored with every megadeth song except this one. Is also one of my favourite songs of all time to (try) play on the guitar.

In my hour of need
Ha, no, you're not there
And though I reached out for you
Wouldn't lend a hand
Through the darkest hour
Your grace did not shine on me
Feels so cold, very cold
No one cares for me
Did you ever think I get lonely?
Did you ever think that I needed love?
Did you ever think, stop thinking
You're the only one that I'm thinking of?
You'll never know how hard I tried
To find my space and satisfy you, too
Things will be better (better) when I'm dead and gone
Don't try to understand
Knowing you, I'm probably wrong
But oh, how I lived my life for you
Till you'd turn away
Now as I die for you
My flesh still crawls as I breathe your name
All there years, thought I was wrong
Now I know it was you
Raise your head, raise your face, your eyes
Tell me who you think you are?
I walk, I walk alone to the promised land
There's a better place for me
But it's far, far away
Everlasting life for me
In a perfect world
But I got to die first
Please God send me on my way
Time has a way of taking time
Loneliness is not only felt by fools
Alone, I call to ease the pain
Yearning to be held by you
Alone, so alone, I'm lost
Consumed by the pain
The pain, the pain, the pain
Won't you hold me again?
You just laughed, ha ha, you bitch!
My whole life is work built on the past
The time has come when all things shall pass
This good thing passed away

underrated masterpiece, his finest hour
Cliff Burton was one of Dave's best friends even after Dave got kicked out of Metallica.
and Cliff was not there when Dave was kicked out
Gabi Francis yes he was, they were in New York getting ready to record Kill Em All when they sent Dave home. They picked up Kirk and the lineup was set
@@gabifrancis7414 That explains it. I'd bet anything that Cliff would have argued in Dave's defense, and encouraged him to try to tame his ways enough. As it is, he's done plenty of remarkable, substantial and hella cool music that wouldn't exist as it is with any other group of musicians.
then why is there this interview of Cliff talking about him? "I don't think about them (Megadeth) too much. Dave talks a lot about us and other people which has a tendency to make me biased towards what he's doing so I can't really listen to what he's doing with an open mind because he's too busy talking shit."
Can you imagine the music Metallica could have made if Dave didn't have an ego. Kill em all is still my favorite album, I didn't even know Dave was in Metallica until years after listening to Metallica. My first two albums I ever bought were cassettes, master of puppets and count down to extinction. It's crazy I feel in love with the music these guys were playing.
One of the best songs ever written.
I like how Mustaine says "wouldn't lend a hand."
Guys, it's really not rocket science. The MUSIC (the riffs, solos, etc) were written because of Cliff's death. The LYRICS are about Mustaine's at the time girlfriend
Such a deep song. RIP Cliff wish music today had this much style
music today cannot have this much style, because there is too much electronic-computerized -FAKE music going around. THIS music is produced--not programmed.

Dedicated to my broken high e string
Mid 40's and went to Megadeth here in Dublin few years back. Thought the crowd would be all 30 and 40 somethings reliving our youth but no, good 60% of the crowd were teenagers and 20 somethings. Can't think of genre other than metal where old bands still attract a young audience, but anyway, time has taken it's toll on me, my days of stage diving and moshing I left back in the late 80's and early 90's, so I was just chillin on the precipice of the crowd, enjoying the young crowd go nuts to In My Darkest Hour's gear change mid song, wishing I was young again so I could join them when a bunch of young scamps shoved a bunch of us 40 somethings right into the thick of things... and there was there was no escape. It was either join with the mosh pit shenanigans or dislocate a hip... so for one last time I joined in and for 90 seconds or so I almost felt young again.
you know a metal song is legendary when you look at the most played locations and it's not just a big spike on the guitar solo. dave may say this line up and album are his least favorite, but SFSGSW has a lot of strong songs on it. in my darkest hour is easily a top 5 megadeth song.
