It is true what you say she is NOT acting, she is NOT pretending. We women are like her, we believe that our friends are just that friends. For us a friend is not a partner or a husband. We are not "brainwashed" we think in this way. Besides, we also separate the idea of having a male friend and the idea of having a partner. We dont mix it and we will never do. I've been a guy friend to a girl that I've known from school. We never met but had good friendship . After 4 years, all of our schoolmates had a get together party and I didn't go all up to talk to her. It was kinda awkward to go all up and talk to her like she's my only friend. I kept it low and now she's on to me so much that she's making my friend who liked her jealous by making him click our photos . She started hanging out with me and I didn't have a clue that she had a bf since 4 years. Surprising thing was she didn't even breakup with him . My sympathy for her pain was all that was there and it blinded my vision to see the truth . After some months, she picked up a fight and started ignoring . Even though I knew this was all her play, she proposed to me and did so many sweet things but these sweet emotions took a toll on me as I was blind to see all that sweet shit was for the pictures. My friends never told me shit and now she's with her ex again. It all made sense when I came to know that her ex cheated on her badly and now she want to prove herself. Anyway, feeling a victim is not the point here. But the amount of time and energy wasted is enormous. The best people come out to show the worst motives and it opened my eyes wide . I've seen guys who've gotten killed for these kinda shit

I had a friend who liked to have guy friends because she found women too dramatic. Every one of them fell for her (she was beautiful). I never did because I had high standards for spiritual commitments in a potential wife. She kept expecting me to fall for her and it never crossed my mind, but one day… after she broke up with a dude, I suggested watching a movie (which I often did and she always turned down because she didn’t have a pure mind about it). We watched the whole thing and then both fell asleep. After I woke up a little while later and was not thinking too clearly, I finally noticed a hot girl was next to me. I barely made a move and she was all about it. We made out but eventually got ahold of ourselves. She later told me she was expecting I was going to make a move at the beginning of the movie and it had just built up for years because she basically felt rejected. I think she wanted a quick rebound that night but I STILL wasn’t pursuing her. It took me being half asleep and not thinking with my brain to finally pursue it and she admitted to me she wasn’t interested (I was extremely skinny at the time) except to address the insecurity of feeling rejected.

Maybe at the lower levels if the employee doesn't know better or in retail. But at the higher levels or at places like startups where people get very introspective about what's a good fit for them, and the large commitment that would result from the promotion, it's probably not uncommon. Some people aren't meant to manage and are better off being individual contributors.

I’ll counter, because I was also raised by women. But my mother who worked 14 hour days ended up putting me with fighters and martial artist to raise me around men.
For many years I did this too. I had friends that are women who anyways used me as emotional support. At the time I felt that it was nice to share a friendship with these women. But as you get older as friends, 30+ closer to forty, they disappear. They get focused on thier husbands and fear of making sure your not that guy. So they end up usually ghosting you. Sure, they will respond, but it’s not the same. They are not like your bros.
My advice is don’t waste your friendships on them. They will drain you. The ones you fall in love with just use it for attention and end up finding someone else anyway. They will make you broke, create false promises, and put you in situations as with women always do.
