This song always was a favorite of mine I believe he sang this about his ex wife priscilla. I know she said he gave her a copy of this song and it was very hard for her to listen to it without crying...
Beautiful song. Great reaction. Willie Nelson had a very popular version released, which was always the one I did on Karaoke nights.😬 Elvis always had such a great connection with his band, and backup singers. In concerts, he was always communicating with them. Every interview with any of them, they say they loved working with him. Thank you for sharing!

Jane H commenting …. Elvis’ wife left him 24th February, & this was in March, so I imagine there were all the emotions of that going on as he sang this, & he must have been hurting. Thank you for your Reaction. There is a great studio rehearsal of Elvis rehearsing ‘Don’t’ which was a number 1 hit on the billboard for Elvis in 1958. ‘Don’t’ was written expressly for him. It isn’t such a well-known song, & it showcases his deep lower range vocals perfectly. On the same video, there is a ReSync of him singing it with the Philharmonic Orchestra. It’s such a beautiful song that it deserves to be heard, & you see Elvis’ personality shining through. The video is …… Elvis Presley - Don’t (Rehearsal) 1970/ReSync With The Philharmonic Orchestra) New Edit ….. Please give this gift to all Elvis fans on your channel, because it might not be well-known but it’s so beautiful. Thank you.

As a huge Elvis fan, I don’t get why anyone just doesn’t understand just how amazing ELVIS WAS!! There will never be anyone that even comes close…I’m always still in awe…❤❤❤❤
Ronny Tutt was his drummer from start to the end in ELVIS'S first year he had three guys Bill black on bass Scotty More on lead guitar and TJ Fontana on drums . Then came his forever TCB band.

There’s no voice that even come close to his! He is in his own world and that’s way at the top of anyone else! This is why he’s been labeled “ THE KING “!!
He had so many good songs but this one has always pulled on me in a unique way even when I was just a kid and couldn’t really understand it. There’s something about the emotion he pours into his songs.
Mark James is credited as the primary writer of this song. Willie did not write it, but performed it and took it straight to number one. Mark James also wrote Suspicious Minds......those 2 songs landed him in the Songwriter's HoF a few years ago.
This song was first released by little dynamite Brenda Lee in 1971 but Elvis’ version is by far the bigger hit, although in the end, the song is more associated with Willie Nelson. Interestingly, one of the song writers, Mark James, wrote Suspicious Minds and another of the song writers, Johnny Christopher wrote 2 other songs Elvis recorded, Mama Liked The Roses and If You Talk In Your Sleep (co-written by Red West)
You have Willie Nelson also sang it. But Elvis version way better. You are right Elvis was so under appreciated and still is. I mean he was and still is today by his fans from all over the world. He is still the most recorded solo artist in time. Then the academy disrespected him this year by snubbing the film (which git a 13 minute standing ovation at Cannes) plus robbed Austin of the Oscar he truly deserved for his Oscar performance of a lifetime. Thanks to Baz and Austin a whole new generation is getting to know of the great music and beautiful voice of Elvis which stands the test of time.
This should’ve been a number one country song along with separate waves and others.
