    Looks great. I think this technique is really good for mixing different textures to create different kind of terrain.
    I like the result. thanks for sharing.

      @@superherosenpai it should work with older versions the same. I didn't use any geometry nodes yet, so it should work like this since 2.8.

    Hi, nice tutorial. Very educational! I have a question. does this workflow of nodes also apply with mixing metal textures with scratches, grunge? Or this specific workflow only does really well when it comes to ground texture mixing?

    • @enhancedsight
      @enhancedsight  7 місяців тому +1

      If you want to add scratches or imperfections in general, then I would recommend to do it with the roughness. You can mix the imperfections to your roughness texture in the same way, as I did it here - with a mix color node.

    Great tutorials. When I try to do the slope mask, I end up with my slope material pink no matter what shaders I use. Any ideas?

    • @enhancedsight
      @enhancedsight  5 місяців тому

      Normally a pink shader means that the files for the textures are missing. Did you move the files to another folder?

    Kind of lost, I have my node groups set up with 2 different textures. Just like you have it set up. but I'm stuck with my terrain just being black and white, after the slopes part.

    • @enhancedsight
      @enhancedsight  8 місяців тому

      That is maybe because of your mix color node, that is still connected to the material output. Make sure that your mix shader node is connected to the material output instead.

    What Gpu card do you have? Is it possible to have a workflow like yours with a 4060 laptop as a matter of performance?

    • @enhancedsight
      @enhancedsight  8 місяців тому +1

      Of course! I also work on a laptop with a 4090. But you can do everything with a 4060 as well. You have less Memory, that means persisten data might not work or you have to use textures with a lower resolution. But you´ll get very far with a 4060. My older projects were rendered on a much slower gpu 🙂

    what if the color we choose is other than rgb? how to seperate them out if we are adding more textures?

    • @enhancedsight
      @enhancedsight  6 місяців тому

      Good question! Do you mean for Vertex Paint, right? You can just create another colour attribute and add as many textures as you want. Same setup, but choose another Vertex Paint for the attribute node.

    • @itzderix
      @itzderix 6 місяців тому +1

      i don't understand?...we can only extract 3 colors with seperate rgb after assigning a color while vertex painting... right?.. what i meant was... what if i choose yellow or cyan to paint the vertex... how to seperate them out?? with seperate RGB..?? if we keep on adding more color attributes .. we are only limited to seperating out 3 colors... ?? how to seperate out other colors..then??

    • @itzderix
      @itzderix 6 місяців тому +1

      10:13 you said we can choose different colors... but you used red green and. blue only and seperated out with seperate Rgb node... what if the color was yellow or other than just rgb??

    • @enhancedsight
      @enhancedsight  6 місяців тому

      @@itzderix if the color is yellow then it would be a mix of Green and red. So if you don't draw with Red, green or blue only, then you'll get a mixture.
      If you want to add more than 3 different colors, then you need a new attribute node with another color attribute. You can create many color attributes.
      But what you can also do, is to mix the materials using the noise texture technique and then choose the output of the mix shader as an input for your mix shader with the colour attribute. That way you can also combine the techniques and get many textures, without adding a new colour attribute.
      If you don't know what I mean, then just shoot me a DM on Instagram and I can send you a picture or video to explain it.

      The texture is paid, so I can't share them. You can get free textures on polyhaven for example.
