It's really weird to be concerned about QB has hit his ceiling in the NFL before even taking a snap just because they showed the ability to grow and improve. Meanwhile, less experienced QBs are given a pass without demonstrating that. Even established NFL QBs grow and improve. Having an established coach with a system seems to be even more of a positive for him.

There is some strange need for taking heads to do some deep level mental gymnastics to hold onto their opinions.
If you want to see how it is done, go watch Kurt Warner's QB Confidential channel. Kurt never makes predictions or hypes or ranks anyone, he simply analyzes. Two parts on each QB, excellent stuff to pull oneself out of the group think that goes on pre draft.

In his time at Oregon, Bo Nix reminds me soooo much of Drew Brees coming out of Purdue. I think this is the best QB/HC marriage of the draft. I kinda see this one working out

I agree felt like this was a perfect match from the beginning and that Nix is being underrated in the process.

Sean Payton will have the Denver Broncos in contention before Robert Saleh and the New York Jets. Sean's emphasis on intellect and character as part of his player evaluation is vital. It's a skill inherited from his time in Dallas with Bill Parcells who created "The Patriot Way" in New England before Bill Bellichick arrived in Foxboro. I feel that the selection of Bo Nix was a solid selection for the following reasons. Bo had an impressive completion rate of almost 75%. He is mobile and has the ability to extend plays and create outside the offense when needed. A characteristic not embraced by Coach Payton but a valuable asset nonetheless when needed. Coach Payton does have time to develop this intriguing prospect being that Denver's opening day starter will almost certainly be Jarrett Stidham. Recent savior of the New York Jets, newly acquired Zach Wilson, will be holding the clipboard. The concern around LB Jonah Elliss is his not participating at the combine. I understand this was due to injury and is an indication of severity. This picks a head scratcher. He did display the ability at the collegiate level to pressure the pocket but seems to be a stretch even in Round 3. The final selection, Nick Gargiulo, hey fuggedaboutit as they would say in Jersey, brings versatlity and intelligence to Denver's offensive line which are key components. This draft isn't one that will blow away Bronco fans but in time should prove to be solid. In Payton They Trust!
In memory of the late, great former head coach of the Tampa Bay Bucs John McKay when asked after one of their usual dreadful performances at the time what he thought of his teams execution his reply "I'm all for it!"

First of all, age isn't only a bad thing. If you want to look at it like this, Bo might be the most NFL ready QB out of just about any QB in this class due to how much experience he has under him. And as many have pointed out, dude can be compared to Brees in terms of his quick-passing ability. Bo certainly wouldn't be the right fit for a lot of teams that could draft him in the first round, but I think Sean Payton will be perfect for him.

I think Bo Nix is over drafted but..... QB are always overdrafted, because they are the most important player on a team.

I knew somebody was going to finagle a way and get Bo Nix and Troy Franklin both, I was just hoping it'd be the Raiders.

Sooooo many young QB's work out, don't they. LOL! The age thing is overblown. Plenty of young guys end up sucking.

Behind the sticks Nix. Being an 8 yard passer works in College. Not in the NFL. Just ask Big Ben.

You mean the same Big Ben that won two Superbowls. I'd take it.

Ah yes being an 8 yard passer doesn’t work in the NFL. So Patrick Mahomes 7 yards per completion means he shouldn’t be in the NFL? Interesting

@@odell4625 😂 You’re funny. No, I mean the late stage Big Ben, the one who wouldn’t throw anything but flats and check downs.

@@garretthatch3484 Do you really think Bo Nix is the next Mahomes? I get having post draft delusions, but you guys need to calm down.

@@GregoryCunningham not even fucking close mahomes is the best QB we’ve ever seen but to say that the modern NFL offense (outside of Daboll when he was with the bills) is 30+ yard throws is just false. Brady won 7 rings throwing most 5 yard hitches. The point is the game today is more 8-12 yard throws. With 4-5 (8-10 for mahomes) deep important throws the QB needs to make to win games. The modern NFL offense is short to intermediate passes. Every QB in the NFL can throw it 8-12 yards
